I am very disappointed with my experience, I had a very warm welcome at my first appointment. I am going through a stomach Illness and I needed to cancel the second appointment I booked until I am able to work it back into my schedule. (and I canceled within 48 hours of the next appointment) They are going to charge me the for full appointment as the "cancellation fee" for 95$ Why would the cancellation be the full appointment amount? I am sick and was hospitalized for the illness so there should have been discretion and human decency. Why would I want to reschedule and let someone physically work on my body who is only concerned about money? As a first time customer this is the biggest turn off, especially while I'm weak looking for alternative medicine,( I have been dehydrated and vomiting for 2 weeks) I was very hopeful of this place, but I have never felt more appalled and disappointed. They are closed on Sunday but found a way to call me and let me know I would have to pay a fee, didn't ask if the service made a difference or if I felt okay or anything. NEVER AGAIN. This service is of such an intimate and spiritual nature that I would expect higher concern about the patient and less about cancellation fees. read more

I personally felt uncomfortable and will never return here again. If she did that to her I can't imagine the things she would say about others. Long Covid Miracles! I developed asthma as a result of having Covid in February 2021 and have had a persistent cough and asthma attacks ever since. After conventional medications just didn't really help enough and at the urging of a friend, I decided to try acupuncture at Kokin Healing Center. After just 4 sessions, my cough is nearly GONE! I started seeing Marin for a broken foot, I was having a lot of problems with excessive swelling, and things started to turn around pretty quickly after starting treatment, which was incredible, but what was truly special was that I really needed help with so many other things, very high stress, old shoulder and hip injuries resurfacing, and intense menopausal symptoms. I have chronic neck/back pain for two years straight, and since starting acupuncture sessions with her, the pain has reduced extremely. She has helped manage my pain more than any other medical treatments recommended by doctors have. Not only is she very knowledgeable, she's extremely sweet and very comforting. I started going to Marin Kokin about three years ago when I was diagnosed with a fatty liver. I didn't have a lot of guidance from my doctor about how to deal with my liver other than through diet, so my daughter urged me to try acupuncture. From my first visit with Marin, I felt that she listened to me and understood my body. She suggested that I include a liver detox cleanse along with the acupuncture. I have been seeing Marin about once of month since my initial round of visits, and along the way, she has treated any other ailments that have surfaced. I continue to do the cleanse periodically. I'm happy to report that the last fibroscan of my liver showed very little fat and no scarring! I feel certain that I could not have reversed this disease on my own. When I had a terrible back spasm happened to me and the chiropractor and regular doctors couldn't seem to get it under control, she did. Also, I found out that she did a lot of work with hormones and hormonal balance via acupuncture. After I took my IUD out, I was having a lot of hormonal and balances and pretty big issues that were affecting my life negatively from that. She did hormonal balancing through acupuncture and truly got my life and health back on track. Also, she has an absolutely amazing shiatsu specialist, Stephi, who was a wonderful addition to my treatment plan. MY OB recommended acupuncture to help regulate my cycles and improve fertility, but I actually found out I was pregnant shortly after my first acupuncture session. Since then I've been getting treatments 1-2x/week to sustain my pregnancy and alleviate pregnancy symptoms and general stress. This is my first pregnancy, so I have nothing to compare it to, but overall it has been a breeze and I believe acupuncture has been a big factor. In the past, I had treatment from Marin for about 9 months. I didn't feel improvement in my body and treatment didn't work. This office is highly profit oriented and have several office workers to pay salary for. Marin wants to treat one issue per one visit and asks patient to visit again for another issue - probably more profitable. She was neither warm nor caring. She asks patients to visit a LOT - sometime three times a week, which is stressful when we are already stressed out with fertility issue. But good for their business. I've only been coming here for month or so, and it's the first time in my life where I was enjoying taking care of myself. As a trauma survivor I carry a lot of emotional and psychical pain as well as dealing with endometriosis. My past treatments have included acupuncture with Marin, massage therapy with heather plus taking herbal supplements directed by Marin. I am feeling brighter and better after each visit. Even though I haven't been here long, I have enjoyed my experience from the great services to the extremely helpful, friendly receptionist. She made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in the door and has helped me explore new kinds of therapy that she think would benefit me due to her working and healing there as well. I do appreciate how culturally sensitive the professionals are there about adopting Chinese medicine and practices, however it would also be nice to see them hire Chinese and other Asian American, female professionals as well. In my experience in the valley, I usually go to Chinese and Vietnamese owned businesses - most of whom are amazing and knowledgeable about these types of healing practices. Marin was so thorough to understand all the symptoms and concerns I have. After the first session I could actually move without pain again and she started me on herbal supplements as well. I have been seeing Marin for over 4 years now. She has become not just a trusted caregiver but a friend. I first found Marin when I was having fertility issues. She was supportive and understanding and referred me to a great fertility doctor when I was ready. I ended up pregnant with twins and she supported me the whole way even when I was on bed rest for 10 weeks. Marin was referred to me by my general practitioner who used to share an office with her back in the day and I have to say...I'm so grateful for his openness to sending me on to someone who practices eastern medicine. Marin is fantastic and I've NEVER gone to her practice once and not felt exponentially better afterwards. I can't say that for every acupuncturist I've been to. I went to her when I had really debilitating muscle/nerve problems (a result of swine flu), I've gone to her for chronic headaches, and today I saw her for the ongoing flu/virus thing I've been trying to shake the last three weeks. I have to say...I woke up feeling lousy...but after my treatment today (45 minutes of sheer heaven)...I feel so much better. I'm not recovered, but I am well on my way. For those newbies to acupuncture, don't be afraid. Marin has a great bedside manner and you'll never feel a thing. All around I love this place and I go whenever my budget allows or when I'm in dire need. **Ask them about insurance...some insurances do COVER acupuncture and depending on your ailment they might be able to still bill your insurance. Marin Kokin is the best acupuncturist I have ever been to!!! She and her team of massage therapists have been a part of my health team for 10 years. Marin takes time to listen and understand what my health issues are. My first visit to her was about a year or two after lung cancer surgery. She was very upfront in explaining her acupuncture treatments are not for treating my lung cancer and explained all the benefits she could do for me. I very much appreciated her professionalism. I did know this information and wanted to further help my body to stay well. When I had major foot surgery on both feet, she carefully treated me and was able to get me out of pain for an entire day without taking any of my pain medications. Pain relief was REAL for me.
