Dr Spiros Cavelaris deserves 10 STARS! I have had floating rib pain for 30 years and have been to over 15 chiropractors over those 30 years. Dr. Spiros is the ONLY Dr. that has been able to mitigate this pain and make my life livable! Sadly I recently moved to Greenville SC and my rib pain came back and would not go away! I tried 4 chiropractors in 10 months, and the only thing I received was an emptier wallet. So we had to fly back to Los Angeles, at great expense, to see this one of a kind doctor. I had 6 visits spread over 1.5 weeks, and I got back on the plane PAIN FREE, and still am. Dr. Spiros not only does the most amazing Chiropractic work, but he also utilizes stretching, and a unique technique called NET using Applied Kinesiology. Bone can be aligned daily, but if your muscles hold tension, they will pull you back out of alignment. Repressed memories are held in the muscles. This technique identifies these memories and releases them from the muscles, allowing your bones to better align. Much of the pain in my ribs was because of past mental trauma plus physical trauma, both of which Dr. Spiros addresses. I went to Alternative Wellness through a referral from a colleague. Her daughter was suffering from TMJ and knew that I had similar symptoms. I scheduled an appointment and left feeling optimistic but I wasn't sure if the treatment was going to help. He didn't just treat my jaw. He worked on my entire body's alignment and we discussed ways in which the body holds on to pain (both physical and emotional). I knew through my colleague what to expect, and she told me to be patient with the process and wait a little while to see results. After two weeks, the pain in my jaw started to subside and at almost a month later, I can say that there has been incredible improvement! I'm not cured, but I didn't expect to be. The pain has decreased substantially and I can finally get back to enjoying my life! Got an Amazon gift deal for a 60 minute massage- WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Let me preface by saying, This is not in relation to the chiropractic doctor and I didn't even make it to this place or get a massage there. Why? You ask... Well, because I got a gift for Xmas that included a 60 minute massage through Amazon Local. I called and made an appointment in Jan and since there is only ONE lady doing a massage for every single amazon deal that comes in, I had to book 3 months in advance!! I don't know what Amazon rep would sell this deal and set up this poor business for failure, but MAN did they take the bait. If you cant support your demand properly- then DO NOT put a mass offer online! (marketing 101) This will hurt you especially if its the first time someone interacts with your company! Anyway, I waited almost two months until the massage therapist called me saying her wrist had issues and couldn't perform the massage. She rescheduled and offered to extend the massage 10 minutes for the inconvenience. Nice touch but still very unprofessional. I ended up calling to move the appointment a few hours earlier and she noted her doctor still hadn't cleared her for massaging! And I would have to wait another few weeks to get my massage (but I had to hurry and book it because her schedule was filling up fast!! Uh--duh!) When I asked her why she didn't have other therapists she sounded baffled and a little upset. I ended up cancelling my appt entirely, which is crazy because i LOVE massages. If they are this bad at customer service, and this lady is sooo busy- I cant imagine how half-hearted and weak my massage would be. I will give this place a 2 stars (instead of 1 star) simply because I don't really know how their services are. But I refuse to ever go here or give it another shot because they simply don't understand what it takes to take care of customers simply even before they walk in the door. I sincerely hope they get their stuff together for the chiropractor sake, and rethink their marketing plan. read more

Acupuncturist Mayumi is amazing. She helped me on my back pain, cold, and infertility. Unlike other acupuncturists, she spends whole one hour with a client next to next, asks various questions to assess what is going on and use various approach to alleviate problems brought in. After having years of fertility issue, I had a baby with her help. Many acupuncturists specializing in fertility are business oriented and try to set up so patients come to their offices as much as possible charging $$, which is additional burden if you are spending a lot for fertility treatment already. In contrast, mayumi try to solve a problem with minimal visit. She is compassionate. She will become your friend and cheer up. I highly recommend her! read more

Thank you Amazon for excellent customer service! I had the same exact experience as Shari M. My massage got post-poned twice at 7:00 the night before it was scheduled. If the therapist is injured, I would think she knew this a little further in advance of the appointment and could have cancelled a little earlier than at the last minute. Amazon refunded me with no problem. I notice they are still running this massage deal. Good luck with that! I have done many discount sites in the past and have been very satisfied, but I guess sometimes you get what you pay for. read more

I purchased a package of massages from Amazon Local last winter. I was able to book an appointment far in advance, she cancelled me last minute because her dog was sick. She offered me an extra 30 minutes or something like that in addition to the massage as a courtesy. So I scheduled another appointment a month or two out. She called me last minute because she had broken her foot or hand or something. She said she would call me to reschedule. No call a couple of months later. I finally called Amazon tonight and asked for a refund. They gave me a full refund with no questions asked. I am very disappointed with this experience, specifically the last minute cancellations and I would not recommend this masseuse because of that. Sometimes I wonder if these special deals on Amazon are really just 'free advertising.' Unfortunately it backfires because it damages potential customer relationships. ***I posted a 5 star post regarding the chiropractor at this office and this review does not reflect on the services I received from him. I am so glad I found Alternative Wellness. Well, I didn't really find them per say. I was referred to Dr. Cavelaris and I'm very glad I made the appointment. He is informative and very thorough. I took my boys, my daughter, my mom, my dad and myself to see him. I even sent my ex husband there! He listens to all your concerns and gets right to the problem. He explains to you what he's doing and why he's doing it. My boys (15 yrs old) ask to go see him, when they dont feel well, rather than seeing their primary care physician. I get a kick out of that. They see him as a miracle worker! (Of course I know not to take them to him for an appendectomy.... Although, it wouldn't surprise me if he knew how to do that also!) Mayumi is the Acupuncturist. I take my mom to see her every week. Took tons of convincing to get her to agree to it but, it was worth it. My mom didn't think that needles would help the pain she has felt for so many years and she is now a believer! If only I can get her to actually do the daily excercises that she is supposed to be doing in between her visits.... Mayumi is a sweet lady. Very good listener and knows her stuff. She is a wonderful part of Alternative Wellness. Lori is the only one we haven't had the opportunity to bug. When I wanted to take advantage of her services, she had, unfortunately, injured her hand and couldn't do what she loves to do. I'm sure it sucked for her too. Lol . Lori Kibbe, LMT, is an amazing therapist. Being a rather modest person, I had been hesitant about seeing a massage therapist. However, when Dr. Cavelaris suggested I get a massage prior to my next chiropractic session, I took him up on it. It was wonderful. Lori is a very kind and caring person. She makes you comfortable immediately - with her manner and her level of professionalism. She asks you what areas you want to work on and what level of pressure should be applied. While she is working, she carefully palpates muscles and tendons, works pressure points, suggests stretching and melting techniques you can do on your own, and constantly checks in to make sure you're not hurting. I always feel relaxed and great when I'm done. I highly recommend Lori for a massage. read more
