    Odi’s Kingburger - King Cheeseburger

I would give 3.5 stars, but rounding up…read more Odi's Kingburger Drive-In is off Highway 60 in Renfrew and has been around since 1973. I had been wanting to try Kingburger for years, but every time we were in the area, we were always just passing by and had to get to where we were going on a specific schedule. This past weekend we had some time and stopped on the way home. My husband and I each got a King Cheeseburger and split a large poutine. The King Burger has two beef patties, triple bun, Kingburger sauce, and fried onions. The cheeseburger just adds cheese. The patties were real, homemade beef patties. They weren't too thick or dense and were juicy. The cheese was real cheese slices and not Kraft singles. The fried onions were good, not too many and not overwhelming. The Kingburger sauce seemed mostly like a mix of ketchup and mustard and there was far too much for me - I would've liked to taste the beef more because it was really great! I was also hoping to give more burger to our little kiddo without the sauce or just minimal. The buns were nothing special, but were fresh, soft, and helped soak up the sauce. In fairness, I like light sauce, whereas my husband likes everything super saucy and he really enjoyed it. All in all, it's definitely a good burger and I might try the Super Burger next time, which also comes with back bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and subs fried onions for raw. The poutine, unfortunately, did not the have cheese curds I was craving, but the gravy was very tasty and the fries were so perfectly crispy. As a big cheese lover, dare I say that I might just order fries and gravy next time. The portion was pretty big, too. Super affordable, weekday specials, and fast and friendly service. Love a small, local, family-owned restaurant that's been around for ages. There's a patio to the side and parking, but no indoor seating and truly a drive-thru with a drive-in theatre restaurant vibe. I'll need to try one of their many milkshakes next time. They also have a "cruise night" with classic cars, which would be awesome to check out.

First off, the food is simply immaculate. The caramalized onions are amazing, like I sometimes get…read moretriple caramelized onions and I love it. The burgers are amazing, milkshakes are a tad filling though. Got a kids small cotton candy milkshake, didn't finish it. Although I put the milkshake in my freezer and had cotton candy ice cream. It slaps. Service is pretty awesome. Every time I see odi himself he's always smiling. The now sign is pretty nice and they actually show the cup sizes now and nice awards, ambiance nice. A family run Inn and Restaurant…read more Everyone feels welcome, more like a guest of the family than a patron of the business. Mr. & Mrs. Paramjit Singh are a welcome addition to the North Kawartha Community. They never fail to smile, each and every customer feels as though they have the Singhs' full attention. Their customer instincts are well honed, if you can't decide they'll be more than happy to help narrow it down with you. Beverage refills are quick and steady. If Poppa Singh is in the kitchen, you can usually pour your own coffee, or get hot water for your tea. They have a pick-up menu of east Indian foods that is remarkable. It is prepared, cooked, and served with the customer in mind. It takes time so order a day in advance, or call early to see if they can fit you in. I'd suggest the former, Mrs. Singh is a very busy lady. Atmosphere: Uncle Pars' sun-room. Family warm and friendly. Staff: Warm, friendly, efficient, wonderful, more like extended family. Prices: Average for the regular menu, very reasonable for the pick-up menu. Tip: Well, these are very hardworking people (7 days/week), and they like what they do. Food: The Canadian/American menu is average fare, but it's fresh, prepared for you, not pre-prepared for the next guy who orders it. So it takes the time to cook, that you would at home in the kitchen. Still reasonable prep time. When you get it, it is home cooking at its' finest. The pick-up menu is always fantastic! East Indian food prepared by a wonderful east Indian lady. Whatever combination you choose, you will be happy with. Once you've set a spell at the Apsley Inn & Restaurant, you be back now, you hear? A shame to drive by and not say 'hello'.
