David Tuttle opened Richard's Fine Coffee's on June 11, 1996. Upon realizing that there were no independent coffee house in Winter Haven, he wanted to bring residents and visitors a new coffee drinking experience. Richard's originally operated out of the Arcade Building before moving to the new Winter Haven Public Library when it opened its new building in 2005. In the ensuing years Richard's Fine Coffee's has become a cornerstone to the revitalization of downtown. One of the keys to Richard's longevity has been providing a place where people can meet, relax, and enjoy delicious coffee and bites. On the first Friday of every month they have a live music event. They serve a daily breakfast and lunch menu that includes hot and cold coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, soup, and pastries. I popped in for caffeinated refreshment during a recent trip to Winter Haven. I like how you can enjoy your drinks and food in their large dining room, on the patio, or across the street in beautiful South Central Park. While waiting as the next customer in line, one of your team members walked past my vehicle and stated, "I'll get to you later," before proceeding to another car behind me. A co-worker shortly afterward asked her whether she had taken my order, to which she indicated she had not. She then returned to assist me. I felt this interaction was discourteous and disappointing, particularly as it lacked even a basic greeting or acknowledgment upon approaching the vehicle. When I later mentioned the experience to the employees who prepared and delivered my order, they appeared surprised and unsure how to respond. I hope this was an isolated incident and that steps can be taken to ensure all customers receive prompt, respectful, and consistent service moving forward. I would appreciate any follow-up regarding how this matter will be addressed to prevent similar occurrences for other guests.

And I need to back track just a little, because that first cup was really good and then they brought out a new pot of the First Watch dishwasher coffee that I have grown accustomed to. So there is that. We ordered two has meals. I got the summer special hash which had a Mexican inspired theme. The flavors were great, especially the queso. The meal was a tad above room temperature which had me thinking it had been sitting. Especially because the over easy eggs were luke warm. The other hash was about the same. Overall the food was not so good, especially for the price. But it was edible and I finished mine and it filled me so mission accomplished. Honestly though no where near amazing and other than it's uniqueness, a visit to Denny's or IHOP would have done just as good and for about a little over half the price. Still though our server was Dynamite and if it weren't for her I would be giving two stars instead of three. If the coffee didn't revert back to its weak state, it might have almost pushed it over 3 starts. Alas, here is where we are.
