Amazing!!! Pancakes are so Good, Bacon is So Crispy and Flavorful, and Staff are so Nice! And it's so Cozy!

Just want to start by saying, this First Watch in Winter Haven Florida has the best coffee I have ever had at a First Watch. The very best coffee! We went on the site ahead of time and our wait list wait was less than what they estimated. I felt like that was a win. Also, our server was both attentive and pleasant and they were super slammed this Father's Day morning. And I need to back track just a little, because that first cup was really good and then they brought out a new pot of the First Watch dishwasher coffee that I have grown accustomed to. So there is that. We ordered two has meals. I got the summer special hash which had a Mexican inspired theme. The flavors were great, especially the queso. The meal was a tad above room temperature which had me thinking it had been sitting. Especially because the over easy eggs were luke warm. The other hash was about the same. Overall the food was not so good, especially for the price. But it was edible and I finished mine and it filled me so mission accomplished. Honestly though no where near amazing and other than it's uniqueness, a visit to Denny's or IHOP would have done just as good and for about a little over half the price. Still though our server was Dynamite and if it weren't for her I would be giving two stars instead of three. If the coffee didn't revert back to its weak state, it might have almost pushed it over 3 starts. Alas, here is where we are. read more

A little disappointed. I tried the new spring menu, and honestly... not impressed. The Lavender french toast was pretty, but the flavor was not there? Didn't get much lavender at all. And the baconado was overpowered by sour cream just a little too much. Guess I'll sit this season out and wait for the summer menu! read more

Stopped in for some breakfast. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress almost instantly was at our table with coffee. I got the mimosa which was good, you get a mini bottle of champagne. I ordered the waffle with bacon and a side of their million dollar potato's. The waffle was delicious, light and fluffy. The bacon was perfect and crispy. The million dollar potato's though just weren't good. I was hoping they'd be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside but the majority of my potato's seemed undercooked as they were pretty hard. Super disappointed with these. The cheese sauce on top was okay tasting. My wife got the bowl and she said it was good. Overall I would come back. Davenport FL. Asked for Decafe coffee. Had to tell waitress about my previous experience with a cold omelet and potatoes. Got my meal in 10 minutes . No coffee. Was told about 7 more minutes. Told waitress just give me water. Omelet was cooked well but potatoes not. Prices are high here so even though food is fresh and omelets taste great, I won't return. The Winterhaven location has some issues with cold omelets but no other problems. So much traffic keeps me from getting there weekdays. read more

The food is OK, but it is worse every time we get it. I don't think I'll be back. This was the first time in like 6-8 months, after the last underwhelming experience. The elevated breakfast sandwich is anything but elevated. It looked down right disgusting. It did taste OK but nothing compared to how good it was (and looked) the first time I got it a couple years ago. I've stopped ordering the avocado toast, it's also gotten much worse over the years. The avocado portion is tiny now and bland, the toast isn't actually toasted anymore or is soggy by the time I get it, and the portion seems to shrink and shrink. For what it's worth, my husband's power bowl seems pretty consistent. It's much smaller than it used to be, but it looks and tastes about the same. If this review seems harsh, it's because I'm just over it. I've held off rating again, because I hoped the bad meals were an off-day. It's been at least four "bad days" in a row. read more

Coming from Orlando, where there's always an hour wait for any brunch restaurant, it was such a relief to come to First Watch in Winter Haven and be seated right away -- and this was on Christmas Eve! First Watch is a chain so, as far as decor goes, it's fairly standard. There was one piece of art on the wall highlighting Winter Haven's famous water-ski pyramid, which i appreciated. Everything looked bright and clean. Service was great! I have no complaints. Our waitress was friendly, quick to offer refills, and check on us. I ordered a Hot Chocolate (very yummy) and my husband ordered a Purple Haze with an Immunity Booster Shot. He can't say if the Booster Shot helped, but the drink definitely tasted good. There's a wide selection of breakfast, brunch, and lunch options whether you prefer a sweet or savory meal to start your day. I had the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl, which was super filling and tasty. I'd get that any day. We also ordered a plate of the Gingerbread Donut Bites -- they were a little too sweet, but they came out so warm and soft that we couldn't help but eat the whole plate! I love eating here. This place is too boujee for my husband. Since I work from home I rarely go out to eat for breakfast unless it the weekend. Since I had a doctor appointment near by I woke early purposely to eat here. I love their juice's, pancake, & egg Benedict. Today I opt for an egg Benedict with coffee. This location is just ok. Food was good, no wait to be seated. What irritated me was the service. The only time we saw our server was when she took our order and when she came for the check. I changed my mind on my drink and wanted to order an orange juice and it took over 10 minutes for us to even be able to find our waitress and flag her down. I ordered the tri fecta and when she took my order she said "do you want a pancake, waffle, or French toast?" then didn't even bother to mention that there was an UPCHARGE for the French toast. If something is an extra charge, you should mention it up front and not be deceptive with the wording. Also, tipflation in this country is ridiculous. When we went to pay, the options for tip started at 20% and went up to 25% unless you hit "other." Be for real, why would I tip 20% for bare minimum service?? Pay attention to the pay pad when you go to the front to pay or you might overtip for nothing. Definitely not coming to this location again. We get better service at other ones. read more

Kale Yeah! I'm a big fan of the kale tonic at First Watch. It always makes me feel healthy-ish especially when I'm getting a lot of calories from my breakfast selection, lol! The location in Winter Haven is a great place to grab breakfast or brunch. We went on a Sunday morning and had no wait for a party of six. Our server was friendly and took our orders quickly. This is a great place to eat healthy, tasty food. The menu offers a good variety of breakfast options, along with soups, half-sandwiches and salads. I got the Tuscan frittata. It had tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese, I declined the kale addition. It came with a toasted half baguette and a greens salad with lemon balsamic dressing. Super yummy. I'm not an egg fan, so it certainly beat scrambled or over easy eggs. My husband got the egg tacos in a corn tortilla with avocado, tomatoes and cheese. He also got cheesy grits as his side. We both agreed everything was fresh and prices were reasonable. A full bottle of ice cold water, was a refreshing touch. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. Went here for breakfast on Monday. The food was amazing and the wait staff was astounding. At first we weren't sure whom our waitress was as 3 awesome ladies kept coming to the table, taking our order, bringing drinks, clearing plates etc etc. Felt like a 5 star experience for sure. We have ordered DoorDash from here a few times and the food is always very good so after visiting in person I'm not sure how their rating on yelp was so low. I chose this restaurant for a Gluten Free place to eat. I ordered the Harvest breakfast and was very surprised when it arrived that a wooden pick with the word Allergy was stuck in it. The poached eggs were perfect. Fully cooked whites and centers runny. The potatoes were cooked to just done and seasoned well. The quartered tomatoes were cooked to perfection. They had been seasoned with a hint of garlic and this added a greater level of taste to each bite. I received gluten-free bread and house made soft strawberry jam. If you care about your health, please check out the nutritional info on their website. Most of their dishes exceed the DAILY recommended amount of salt and the avocado toast that I had today was inedible it was so salty. I tried the shrimp and grits for the first time and instantly fell in love. The plate was so packed with flavor and the grits were so smooth that I took my time eating it because I did not want the dish to end. The food was AMAZING, all of it! Great portion sizes and it all was absolutely delicious! They have grits which are not on the menu. They are so good so make sure you ask for them. Our waitress was sweet and gave some great recommendations. My only wish was that she would have visited the table at least once before leaving the check. First Watch Cheats Customers! My husband and my 1st visit to First Watch. Ordered the wakeup watermelon drink with mint which was topped off with ice. Ordered a 2nd wakeup watermelon drink with no ice and was brought a smaller glass, I asked why is the glass smaller when there are no sizes to choose from on the menu for these drinks, I was told by the waitress that that is what management required. Went here for the first time with my daughter. Had been wanting to try so I was happy to finally go. It was a busy Sunday yet walking in we were greeted asap and our names taken. We were seated in under 10 minutes and greeted by waitress immediately. Love the farmhouse decor. So my daughter insisted I try the mimosas and I did lol. The way it comes out is adorable. I put picture below. It was super cold and yummy. They measure the perfect amount of orange juice for the glass so that when you pour your bottle of champagne it fits the glass perfectly. I dined during the lunch hour on 3/9/20 when this restaurant was still newly opened. Definitely some issues w/food and service to work out as is typical for most new, heavily attended establishments. I addressed each issue I encountered and apologies/corrections were made. I'm a First Watch regular in Orlando and am happy to see them opening up in more cities within Central FL. Note: There are 2 customer entrances (main and patio) and I observed many new customers entering in the patio door and seating themselves as they did not appear to see the check-in area at the main entrance. This was my first visit here and it was okay. I really enjoyed the omelette, I also really liked the wheat bread they used for the toast. I ordered a chocolate chip pancake on the side and was disappointed. On the menu it says their pancakes are huge, but what I got was just a normal size pancake, was very flat, not fluffy at all. When I come back I'm definitely going to stay away from the pancakes. The server was very sweet. Although I got everything I needed she seemed to be very rushed. (Not her fault)I think having someone else walking around checking on the tables would have helped. Most of everything I needed was already on the table which was nice. The coffee was okay, I'm pretty picky about coffee though, they have different flavors of creamers on the table and have raw sugar, I didn't see any Splenda or sweet n low. read more
