Okay. Owner met with us and promised a very reasonable schedule. We signed up. Dates came and went with no show. Called office and was told, "Owner doesn't do the schedule, I do." Several weeks past original promised date, work got done. Artificial turf and trim looks really nice, but we were told turf would need replacing in about five years. Will also consider other landscapers when that time happens. read more

As we were finishing our new house, we asked Kokopelli Landscaping for help designing our back and side yards. We had some features we wanted included (fire pit etc.) and a few restrictions on type of plants we wanted to avoid. After only a couple meetings with the designer (Shane) we had a plan. Within a week of closing on the house Kokopelli Landscaping was on the job. They took care of everything including permits and HOA approval!.The crew's involved in our work were extremely courteous, polite and efficient. I give the owner a 5 star rating and the managers a 3 star rating as you yourself really need to manage their workers because the managers don't. You get shrubs and trees you didn't ask for or want in place of what you asked for. Shane the owner has always responded and has gone above and beyond and I really appreciated his help. He is top notch. Unfortunately some of his workers really need to be pushed by Shane for them to get things done. I spent over $150,000 in landscaping needs and in the end got about 80 percent of what I asked for and was promised by Quinn to deliver. In the middle of project Quinn stopped responding and I had to get ahold of Shane to get things done. I rank the pool I received about a 3 out of 5 because half the jets had to be plugged for the others to work and one of the two pumps is not adjustable via the app as promised it would be. Design flaw. I also ended paying more for a pool operating system that I thought was included but they delivered an old no longer supported system. I still think it was the last one on their shelf and they wanted to get rid of it because the two other houses next to me got the new system and I got the old one even though mine was put in after theirs. Shane sold the new version to me at half price and I appreciated that but still feel I shouldn't have had to pay for anything. The pebble in the pool is very spotty color and looks very aged and not great in spite them trying to fix it by draining the pool and doing an acid wash after the project was done. I pipes broke and flooded my yard and you can still hear the piped knock when the jets are activated. Toward the end of the project, I reached out to pay for some additional work and more trees to be added and was promised they would show up to review but they never showed and I didn't want to bother Shane again, so I just finally went with VA landscaping in Beaver dam to get the trees and finish the landscaping I wanted. Although this review may sound negative I still rank Kokopelli landscaping a 4 out of 5 and they really would be a 5 if they could just hire a quality control person or teach their managers to be better at customer service and communication with their clients. The potential is there and Shane works hard but he needs help. read more

They did my initial landscaping. Came for spring cleanup and trimming. Also replaced a few plants. Nice job.

End result was perfect. May 9th was our quote and on 6-3-2025 we paid our required deposit. The job was not completed until 10-6-2025 due to a misunderstanding on the pergola, We were told that we were scheduled for the pergola install on 7-18-2025 and when we hadn't heard anything I went into the office to verify that we were still on the schedule. Front office was going to get a message to Brandon to look into the status of our job. On 7-24-25 Tom, from Backyard life, called and scheduled an appointment at our home on 7-25-25. We went over the specs for the pergola and was informed that a misunderstanding had happened and he was going to expedite the order of the pergola and install would have priority when arrived. Pergola was installed on 9-17-2025. We are very happy with the work that was done, we would have appreciated a little more communication from Kokopelli on the issues as we were outside of our 90 days with the Sun City HOA requirements and we were having to adjust our plans for trips with the changes. read more

Kokapelli completed a large pool and landscape project for us. The project turned out beautiful. They were helpful in the design process and worked with us on our concerns and ideas. The area, Mesquite Nevada, does have a shortage of "qualified contractors", so you do have to be patient through the journey. We knew we were not closing on our house for over 6 months, and we committed by paying deposits to get on the list for work. This helped our turn time. Friendly communication went along way. You are not always going to agree and it will get frustrating at some point. But talking it through, and seeing from all points of view, will help. The process took well over 6 months, but patience on our end did pay off. Construction projects are not for the faint of heart, as they do have surprises and unexpected costs. Plan on a 10 % over run. We spent every bit of that 10%. Your contractor is bidding a project based on your vision, and sometimes unexpected concerns or wants will change the plan, and unfortunately, this does cost. Your HOA will have an opinion, and unfortunately, they are not easy to work with. Kokapelli treated us more than fair through all of this. I would hire them again, as they absolutely know what they are doing. read more

We spent $1200 for a new irrigation system for our small front yard in June. In November I noticed there were leakages in the system. I called and was told their work was under warranty for only three months and that we would have to pay for a service call and any needed repairs. I asked to talk to the supervisor and was told she was busy and would call me back. No call came. This company has the contract for Sun City and several workers are in my area at any given time during the day. It's not like someone would have to go out of the way to take a look at my problem. Something is wrong here. I begged for a receipt for my cash payment and didn't receive one until October. read more

It took three calls to the office to get an estimate scheduled. The day it was scheduled, the employee was a no-show. No advance warning, no call to say he wouldn't be there. When I called to find out why, I was given the run-around. I ended up speaking to the office manager who assured me it would be handled and scheduled the cleanup. The day it was supposed to happen, the crew was a no-show. A call to the office revealed a scheduling mixup. Again, I had to be proactive. The office didn't bother to contact me to let me know of the mixup. The customer service is abysmal. The office manager is inept. Needless to say, any future projects will be bid out to other companies. read more

The latest problem is this. They plated the wrong cactus. The owner came out and offered replacement. That did not happen as promised. He said "someone will be out tomorrow", that was last week. Considering many of my neighbors are unhappy with Koko-smelly we may have a class action lawsuit. read more

If I could give Kokopelli 50 stars, I would. Everyone who worked on installing my pool was professional. But more than that, they were kind, helpful, and cheerful at all times. Even when I couldn't figure out how to work my phone app to turn my hot tub on over Christmas, Jaime - who was on vacation - was able to turn it on remotely every day, even on Christmas Day! Kokopelli put in our privacy wall and all of our landscaping. Coming from a different climate and zone we had no idea what list to give to Kokopelli for tree/plant types. We are frustrated for many reasons but one is because not once did they partner with us by offering recommendations for plant type and location. We now have a Chilean Mesquite tree 3ft. from our wall and 15 ft. from our pool which their landscapers planted. If you look up Chilean Mesquite tree you will see that they tend to blow down in monsoons (which we get a lot) and if they are not 8-10 ft. from a wall the tree could damage it. Now, we have to trim it and then cut it down. I think a 'landscaper' should offer suggestions and help steer their clients in the right direction: what goes best near pools, near walls, what shades better/faster... Kokopelli offers no warranties on any plants, nor do they make mistakes. Since they think they are the ONLY game in town they think they can be the most expensive, the worst planners, and the least responsive. Check all other options before going with Kokopelli. read more

Excellent work done by these guys. I had tons of pavers, hard scape, walls, a large fountain, yard lighting, a BBQ station and lots of landscaping. Good service at first, as we spent 13k plus. They installed a fence at our home and it was powdered coated the wrong color per our CCR. Notified Shane. His crew came back and spray painted it the right color because he refused to take it out and do it right. This was done while we were away. They left paint overspray on our outdoor lights, dripped paint on the stained concrete, and stepped on and broke outdoor lights. Needless to say, our fence is now rusting and looks terrible! We've called several times with the promise of the coming out to take a look, but of course, have not seen or heard from anyone. Look for other options! read more

Shane and his crew did a wonderful job. We had pavers, turf and rocks and boulders, cacti and drip system installed, all within a week. The crew showed up every morning and worked all day. They know their stuff and were very nice, always willing to answer a question or ten. Several weeks had gone by and we noticed one of the plants installed was dying. I sent Shane an email on Monday evening and had a new plant in place Tuesday morning! It's hard to find that kind of customer service these days. read more
