I wanna start out by saying the staff was very Knowledgeable, an Friendly. The work was done with alot of respect to my 26 inch wheels That I had balanced an rotated. The tech named Kyle, you could tell he was VERY EXPERIENCED at balancing an handling my brand new polished wheels. They where balanced so well, the vibration at 80mph Was like sitting in your chair at home, 100% free of any vibrations. I would recommend giving these guys a call, for all your tires an wheels. Also The person who helped me, named George at the front desk was VERY Respectful an made sure all the work that was done, was done RIGHT. I have been waiting over 2 years for Kolar tire West to make things right. had a oil change done and the tech found I had 2 low tires, told them to go ahead and patch them. when I left the shop that afternoon my left front tire and wheel detached from my vehicle destroying my left front hub brake rotor and wheel also bent a lower control arm, gave non repairable damage to the fender. the other tire and wheel on the left rear was loose and destroyed the wheel lug holes. Kolar replace 1 wheel with a non color matching, I had to replace the left rear wheel out of my on pocket. I have never been so disrespected as a customer or as an employee.... I did a review of this shop a year ago and want to confirm- still the best shop in town! As a woman it is sometimes difficult to find somewhere to service a vehicle where the techs talk to me with respect and as if I'm intelligent. (Woman with a car thing) This place is not only respectful and clear, they actually do excellent work too! They have our business- for sure. read more

I have to add 85 characters so. Service was friendly. Oil change was an abomination and almost grenaded my engine.

Our truck and camper broke down and they responded quickly to get my family and I off the highway and contacted our insurance to arrange to have us towed to town instead of the "nearest" spot Good Sam had put in for, which had no services available. They even contacted a local mechanic to see if he was available to come in on the weekend to look at our vehicle. He wasn't but that's not on Kolar. When their recommended mechanic said it was going to take a couple weeks before he could even look at our truck, the manager called him directly and we were back on the road in a few days instead of waiting twice as long just to have the problem diagnosed. The owner even let us spend the first night in our camper on their property since there wasn't any hotel rooms available anywhere in town or nearby due to a festival in town. The only reason I would have to rate them lower is the truck that was supposed to tow our camper to town arrived without a hitch to tow it and so had to come back to town to borrow mine. But they were so friendly and helpful I can't knock any stars off for it. read more

Cannot give enough thanks for Frank and Kolar Tire towing for bending over backwards to help me recently. The water pump on my pickup failed in Drummond, MT while towing a horse trailer solo cross-country, complete with horse & dog. Frank himself made a number of calls to my roadside assistance group and arranged to have both my pickup -and- my horse trailer towed promptly. He also made sure that a local shop could get the truck right in, and then his second driver took me with the horse trailer, horse and the dog to local overnight stabling. The shop had the truck fixed the next day, and we were back on our way to Florida. Both of his drivers were prompt, professional and cheerful, and Frank really went out of his way to make sure everything was taken care of. Will at Kolar and the rest of the team are awesome. Will fit me in when I was in a pinch. He pulled my truck into his shop at 4:35, which I didn't expect so late in the day. He called me at 4:55 with bad news....I had the wrong parts (thanks again autozone, you've failed me again). But that's not all, they got the parts in, and started working on it again after 5pm! AND Will just called again at 5:25....it's done! There's more then just Will making things happen as the whole crew is great, and hats of to Micheal for getting the job done before I could write a Google and yelp review(literally). I have grown up around cars my entire life and my best friend back in the Midwest is a mechanic. I know my way around cars and have bought and sold many cars through the years while having at least 10-15 different shops work on my vehicles. Kolar Tire is hands down my worst experience with a mechanics shop ever! I have had my jeep back to them for the same repairs at least three times, with each time taking 1-2weeks. Recently had it to the shop for a fuel issue. The first round of repairs didn't fix the problem, the second round of repairs fixed the problem but created a new one. I brought it back to them because I now have a fuel evap issue that wasn't there before. Now they tell me they can't figure out the problem. Had the Jeep in for a coolant leak. They said it needed a Rad and lines. Had that done and still smelled coolant. I told them the first time it was the heater core they said it was fine. Brought it back the second time they said it WAS the heater core. They replaced it. Fixed the problem or so I thought. Got in this morning and the heat barely works. They also messed up the steering column in the process and my turn signals no longer work. I have spent well over 5k in the last 8 months with them. This is a terrible mechanics shop. I have to move in two weeks and now don't have time to bring it back to them to fix their mistakes.based on my experience I'm not sure they could fix their mistakes read more

I use to go here for all my tire needs. Was always treated fair and honest. My last stop in there to get 4 tires swapped. I had an appointment and told them I was waiting there until it was done. After over an hour I asked how much longer and they told me they called my name while I was on a phone call and let me sit there for an extra 30 minutes because they never called my name again when I got off the phone. On top of that I have never paid more then $60 for that exact same service at the same location and I was charged $88 this time. Never got an explanation or apology. Sad to see customer service go out the window at so many business the past few years. Will be finding a new tire shop. read more

My wife hit a big rock with her car tire and bent the rim just slightly. A Good Samaritan stopped and changed the tire for her (because we almost never get flat tires anymore and don't even know where the jack is anymore! It's under the drivers seat!) My wife took it to another tire company and they said that she needed to buy another Toyota brand tire ($$$). My wife declined and took it to Kolar and they bent it back into shape for $10!!! We will definitely look to them for new tires for our vehicles! read more

In fairness, I will admit my son works there, but that is one of the reasons I know what a first class operation this is. He has been with them from the start, and is always talking about how they have the best mechanics in town, and one story after another how Frank does business fairly and ethically,.. always. I watched them dispatch tow services one Sunday, and they had an entire crew bending over backwards to get people out of jams as fast as they could. They even reviewed the protocol for a non routine police call with the driver to ensure everything was done by the book. Sometimes an inside view helps confirm the way an organization does business. That said, the extensive work they have done on my truck has always been excellent. Seems like everyone I talk to says the same thing; best in class. read more

Kolar tire and auto seems to get the best reviews in town so I decided to use them a few times now and I'm not impressed. I had them do some work on my truck and put new tires on and they ordered the wrong tires and then on the second day the wrong size tires even though the truck was in their possession at the time so I ended up with used tires they had on hand that would fit. It took 2 extra days longer than it was supposed to, I didn't get the tires I wanted and the total bill was around $1800 no discount was offered for the inconvenience. I didn't say anything and was very patient with them. Then a few months later my truck broke down and I needed to decide where to have it towed by AAA. I choose Kolar Auto and they made me definitely regret it. Every week for an entire month I was called to be told it would be pushed another week. I use that truck to plow snow so I pleaded with them to try to find a way to get it done quicker because people count on me to clear their driveways and was told they have been getting a lot of tows so they wouldn't have time to work on it for another week. In my mind meant other people were given priority over me and I have no idea why. A month later its finally done and was not even given an apology for it taking way longer than quoted and definitely no effort was made to keep my business by offering any discount. I have given them $5k this year and they will not get another dime from me ever! I guess that's a good thing since they are so busy they don't have time for me to be a customer anyhow. If you need any repairs done I'd go anywhere else. If you need tires I would go to Montana Tire Company read more

Normally Frank has been great, but when you get your car back with one of the old tires on it, not to mention a different size than the others, not a word said...that simply is not customer service Period. Not to mention it's an all wheel drive car that requires four like tires. Two days later when you notice the tires you get "sorry nobody let you know". Expansion sometimes comes with a price, my business is one of them. read more

We were on a road trip from California to Montana and we had our tires balanced at Big O before we left. They did a horrible job because the steering wheel wouldn't stop vibrating at speed. Finally got sick of that uncomfortable feeling and came to Kolar to get them rebalanced. They got it done in 15 minutes and we were on our way. They did an excellent balancing job and the tires and van felt stable even at 90. read more

I called and discussed the different tires for my truck, decided on a set, was told they would ship in sets of two and as soon as they were all in he would call me and I could bring my truck in. He never called me back! I guess my $1000 wasn't needed. All is good, I went somewhere else and got great service. They seem to be in the business of not wanting to fix cars. Had a vehicle towed because it used 40 gallons in 90 miles. Literally getting 2 miles per gallon. They stated they put gas in it and the gas gauge went up to 1/4 of a tank; So nothing was wrong. We wasted 8 hours and still stuck with a rental that's is broken. Mechanic was rude and so was owner when we ask how it can be getting 2 miles per gallon and nothing wrong. Take your fleet and person repairs anywhere but here. read more

I had an 02 Ford Escape that needed major work done to the engine. Kolar Tire took on the job, and made sure the work was done right. There were a couple of times when they could have returned the car, but wanted to test it to make sure everything was right. When testing showed a check engine light - they made sure the work was re-done, so I wouldn't have to deal with it! Would not recommend taking your car here. I had my snow tires taken off, and summer tires put on, right before 13 hour trip. On my way home, I started to hear a noise. I immediately made an appointment with Kolar, also told them that on my way over I had some loose lug nuts, so maybe that was my issue. They said my control are was bad, and a bolt had snapped causing the whole underbody of my car to shift to the right, and it would be somewhere around $1800 to fix. Also, they did not even tighten the lugnuts eventhough I told them that i had just realized they were loose when I got there. I tightend the lug nuts, the sound stopped. I took it to another shop, they said they couldn't find anything wrong with my car. I was still a little unsure if my car was safe so took it to s-point auto and they said it was just rust build up . Also ALL of my wheels were loose, and eventually they would also start making that noise. They cleaned up the rust and my wheels are fine. They did say the bushing on the control arm would need to be replaced, but it wasn't a safety issue and not for more than $300. I will never take my car to Kolar again. read more

I agree with the other five star reviews. Kolar apparently fairly recently added a 4WD wrecker (tow truck) to their services. I needed both road service and a tow today (on two different vehicles, both at my home). The tow especially was extra complex. None of the companies AAA works with were interested in helping me (due to them not having 4WD vehicles), thus my call to Kolar. Derek, the driver/service guy was beyond incredible. He was absolutely friendly, efficient, competent, and went beyond the call of duty. I could not have had a better experience. And the total bill seems very reasonable (I'll know for sure once my insurance company reimburses me the full amount.) Earlier on the phone, owner Frank was extremely nice and helpful. Furthermore, Derek arrived pretty much exactly when Frank, several hours earlier, had said he would. I will definitely be recommending Kolar for towing and if I need future tows or road service, will plan to use them as well. read more
