DO NOT GO HERE -- Lied to me, overcharged me, and treated me like garbage Meineke completely blew my trust -- not just once, but twice. First Visit (July 2025) I brought my car in for severe shaking and engine misfiring. They diagnosed bad spark plugs and one bad ignition coil -- and that part was accurate. But they overcharged me by billing $252 for a single ignition coil. Not a set -- just ONE. You can find a full set of four online for $90-$140. They also charged me $90 for 20 minutes of labor, which breaks down to $275 an hour. That's three times what local shops charge. Then came the upsell: they pushed a BG full induction service, claiming it would help smooth out the engine. Here's the problem: * Ignition coils and spark plugs are part of the ignition system, which controls the spark that fires the engine. * A BG induction service is meant to clean the air/fuel intake system, including the throttle body and intake valves. These are completely different systems -- like fixing windshield wipers to stop your tires from leaking. Pushing an induction service to fix a misfire caused by a bad coil is misleading at best. I told them I had a strict $500 cap (due to warranty coverage) and couldn't afford the full service. They said: "No problem -- we'll just do the first part of the induction service to keep you under." That "first part"? Just a quick fuel additive in the tank. No BG tools. No throttle cleaning. Just a bottle dumped in. They charged $30 -- which, to be fair, is what BG 44K costs, so I'm not upset about that part. They were transparent about it. I'm including it here because it sets up what happened next... Second Visit (October 1st, 2025) -- Where Things Got SHADY Still shaking. So I brought it back. This time, they said carbon buildup in the throttle body was to blame -- and pushed the full BG fuel induction service again, which they said I "declined" last time. I agreed. What did I get? Just a quick aerosol spray into the throttle body. That's it. * No specialized BG tools. * No multi-step cleaning. * No proof that anything beyond a spray was done. They charged $129.26. Let's break that down: * $90 for labor (for a job that took 20 minutes). * That's $275/hour -- for a basic spray I could've done myself. * Even worse, the invoice claimed 0.60 hours (36 minutes) -- but I dropped the car off at 4:00 PM and it was done by 4:17 PM. So unless they time-traveled, that's a falsified bill. I Have Recorded Proof * In a recorded call, Jeremy (the mechanic) admitted it was just a spray, not the full BG package. * He also admitted he didn't know it was billed as the full service. * When I calmly pointed out that this was false advertising and billing fraud, he swore at me, got belligerent, and transferred me because he couldn't handle being called out. * I also recorded a call with a respected local mechanic, who agreed it was not the real BG service -- and said $130 for that kind of work was laughable. What Happened After? I submitted all of this to the Better Business Bureau, and Meineke never responded. BBB was forced to mark the complaint "unresolved" and it now appears on their public record for three years. Then I went to the Montana Office of Consumer Protection. Even they agreed it was egregious -- but said I'd have to file in small claims court. So that's where I'm at. Bottom Line: This business is shady. What I was told I'd get is not what I got. It's textbook misrepresentation, and I have the receipts -- literally and figuratively. It's like a salon telling you they'll give you a perm for $100, then giving you a mullet, and saying: "Well, mullets cost $100 too, so what's the problem?" Then later realizing they charged you $400 for it anyway. Where You SHOULD Go: I now take my vehicles to Frederick at QRF Automotive. * He's honest. * He's patient. * He's fairly priced. * He treats you like family and won't quit until it's fixed. I have started using Meineke car care for oil changes when I needed them recently because after calling around, they were the best deal I could find. I am always skeptical of car repair shops because I know many simply manufacture things to fix to make money. I have a reason now to believe that these people do not. Part of the oil change service consists of an alignment check, and when I went in there I had already wanted to ask them to check my alignment, and I fully expected to need an alignment after over a year of driving a very bumpy road to go home. To my great surprise, they told me that my alignment was still perfectly good, within the normal range, and they gave me the print out with all the colors green for each tire. THEN, To my further surprise, a year later, I took the same car there again for another oil change, and when they checked the alignment, they again told me that the alignment was fine and didn't need any adjustment. This second time really surprised me, I've never had a car that didn't need an alignment after one year, let alone TWO! I took my Toyota 4-Runner into Meineke for an alignment since they are the cheapest in town but the mechanic called and asked if it was ok if they kept it an extra day due to the fact my break lights were now coming on for some reason after the alignment. They throughly checked my break pads and my ABS that they fixed early this year. As always, they guaranteed my breaks fixed so I didn't even get charged for this extra time! I called Meineke and advised them I had a 2004 2WD truck for which I needed front brakes. They quoted me a price and I set up an 8am appt so that I could be first in the door. I drove all the way from Bozeman and was there on time and about 9:40am they call me to tell me they don't have parts because they didn't know it was a 2WD (even though I very specifically told them it was and I even called two days in advance to verify the quote). When I was picking up my keys I asked the guy why it took them an hour and 40 to figure out that it was 2WD and he literally turned around and walked away. I told the woman behind the counter that I drive all the way from Bozeman for this (at $6/gallon for diesel) and she just looked at me and shrugged and said "sorry." A $100 in gas and no new brakes and I had to negotiate to even get a very insincere "sorry." Pathetic. If I was this bad at my job I'd have been jobless and homeless decades ago. I couldn't use their website appt scheduler to get a scheduled appt. I called the next day and was told that the program doesn't allow you to schedule oil changes, which are first-come, first-serve. I've had too many issues with this business. They worked on my brakes and 3 months later the same problem occurred again. I called and they said just bring it in. Then, when I came in they said sorry there's no mechanic on duty. Then they said it's probably just the snow and ice just to get me out of there. Then my wife brought it in and once again they were too busy to look at the brakes. Finally, I insisted that they look at the brakes, so they charged me $45 just to look at it. Took two cars there after replacing some suspension parts to be aligned. With the first one random bolts started loosening up even though I made sure they were tightened down when I put the parts in. With the second one, my wife's car, they claimed to have aligned it and said that the caster was out and nonadjustable. Even on their own print out it said that the caster had two different measure before and after they aligned it. Long story short my wife drove the car for three months and wore out the front tires. I took the car in to another shop to have it re-aligned and the mechanic said it was nearly 3 degrees out and there was nothing wrong with the caster. The before after print out the second mechanic gave me was completely different than what Mieneke gave me. Called them to complain and got some rather snotty woman who told my wife "its the bad parts you put in and not our work." My guess is they don't like people trying to save money by fixing their own cars when they could be cashing in on it. I have been working on cars for 20 years and know what I am doing. If they think they pull this type of thing with some one like me imagine what they are doing to people who know nothing about cars. . . Do yourself a favor and avoid these people. read more

Worst customer service ever! Spent 650.00 to have rear brakes done only to get my vehicle back and was not working correctly. I took it back not once but twice and they couldn't "duplicate " the problem I was having. They didn't remove the wheels to try to fix it. I would never take a vehicle here again! Absolutely terrible... brought in my car and had my diff fluid changed, and 2 days later I noticed it was leaking.. the bolt was less than hand tight.. then brought in my girlfriends car to have them fix a small coolant hose leak. I've been going to this place off and on for years, most of that time it was called AAA Power Car Wash. It's still the same owner, John, at least i think he's the owner. Unfortunately, John is actually the main problem. His customer service is horrible. I went in recently for an oil change, parked by the oil change entrance, walked in to the counter, he looked at me, said it's going to be a while and walked away. There was only one other vehicle in their two bay oil change station. He never once took my information or even asked me exactly what I wanted. I placed a coupon on the counter when I first walked up to it, because there's multiple signs everywhere stating you have to give them the coupon before service, and that's the only instruction I gave him. After 20+ minutes he pulled my vehicle in and performed the service without talking to me first?? It didn't really matter because I didn't have any special instructions for them, but he didn't know that! If there was a decent oil change shop in this town I would go there in a heartbeat and never step foot in this place again, but unfortunately there isn't! This is conveniently located for me and the least painful to deal with out of what we have available. read more

They lost a customer today. I recieve monthly emails from Meineke about promotions and such probably like so many others. I was accused of bringing in spam emails to get a free oil change. Printed off three emails at the store for the owners Kim and Chuck to see. They said the emails could be spam from Jiffy Lube for all they Know??? WTH? Really? Jiffy Lube is out to get them? They decided to tell me and charge me for the oil change after it was already completed. The kid below said I had a tranny pan leak, I had changed the gasket myself less than six months ago. I asked to see it. Went down there and there was not a leak in sight???? Some road grime on the pan was all. If they took a moment and looked at the Corp website, they would see that the promotions are there and that the Meineke Car Care Club link is right there also to sign up for!!!!!
