Little bit out of town but they are always friendly and responsive for our dogs and more cost effective than places in State College.

Not compassionate at all! I have a small older dog and no one would even hold her! Awful

Was very surprised by what we found, as I was wrong about his delimia. Found them more affordable than other agencies. I have 4 of 7 rescues left, and the pet industry is forcing we elder care givers of fixed incomes right out of affordability. I highly recommend his practice, and the staff was unbelievable patient w/my concerns and immotional state. An Easy 5 stars. I have worked w/vets in my past history, and this is a very deserving practice. P.S. I use Serento collars, and their quality is in question w/me at this point, I was very careful not to purchase on Amazon and many sites abusing the laws to sell ficticious collars, I would recommend u purchase directly from your vet, this is good advice. This practice is not hoggish on the price for them.

We used Dr. Livingston for my two dogs and five cats for over 10 years. She used to be great, but…read morenow she seems to be in it just for the money. She used to work with us to keep costs low. Now she overcharges and gives treatments without permission. Dr. Livingston quoted me a price of $500-$600 for my cat's megacolon surgery, and I ended up paying twice that. My cat died soon after, so I don't believe she had the skills to perform the surgery. Dr. Livingston applied flea meds to my dog and charged me for a full box of three doses even though they knew I had just bought flea medicine the previous month and still had two doses at home (and was already paying a lot for other treatments). She's constantly running behind. I'm a very easygoing customer, but it was ridiculously unprofessional. When I decided to leave their practice, I requested our records, and the receptionist rudely said she would have to get permission from Dr. Livingston and she would see if she could send them. They have to release our records by law. I felt like she was threatening to keep our records and trying to intimidate me into staying. I switched to Kolbrooks Veterinary Clinic. It's a longer drive for me, but their prices are way better and they've been super honest and friendly. I am very happy I left Animal Medical Center because I don't think I was treated very well there.

Scheduled the "Humane" euthanasia with them. Wish I would've tried harder to find someone to come to the house. The room is too small. Stuffy. Your on the floor?! They sent two young girls who didn't know what they were doing. They stressed her out trying to shave her leg (all of it, really?, for an IV) using inferior clippers. Hello! Samoyeds have a heavy coat. Then they jabbed her with the IV needle and made her cry out in pain and she bit my son on the hand. Finally a more experienced assistant came, although even she took two tries to get the right clippers for the job. I was fuming but didn't say anything because I didn't want to make a bad situation worse. Twelve and a half years of loving that dog, almost a week of saying goodbye while family members made their way back and more tears than I think I ever thought I would cry and we are left with this botch job as our final memory. Three weeks later and I still can't forgive them. If we ever have another pet, we won't be taking them here.

One night this week as we were going through our daily grooming ritual, I felt a lump on my cockapoo that was roughly the size of a walnut. This was in an area where I clean daily and it hadn't been there the night before so I was worried. I called Halfmoon Valley Animal Hospital early the following morning and asked for an emergency appointment for the next day. I didn't even ask for a same day appointment knowing how busy they always are so I was surprised when they offered me an appointment for the same afternoon which I gratefully accepted. They diagnosed an issue their groomer had missed (on both of them), rectified it and crises over. I felt like I received an incredible gift with my dogs being patients of this practice. No matter the issue, regular checkup, medications, or emergency visits the vets, assistants and office staff show professionalism, compassion and patience with each issue. They treat my dogs with genuine kindness and gentleness and the more I depend on my dogs as my service animals the more I tend to forget that they aren't human. Fortunately, they strike a perfect balance and I'm grateful for their services. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who has pets that may be more like family as after several years patronage they have never let me down. Thank you

I have had several experiences with this animal hospital and I have nothing but positive things to…read moresay. I moved into the area last year and unfortunately soon after settling in my dog tore his ACL and needed a TPLO surgery. This was his second TPLO surgery in 7 months, so I was extremely upset (as its a costly surgery and the recovery time is a long 6 months) and I was fairly savvy about the process by this point. I do have to say that the surgery price was higher ($4,000) than what I paid for his first TPLO surgery in Florida ($2,800). I do understand that costs vary by market, hospital, and situation. As they are the only vet within 200 miles that does this surgery, I am going to pay more for the specialty. I have worked in rescue for years so I have a fairly good idea of what to expect when it comes to medical procedures and price. Metzger's was very sympathetic to the fact that I had just paid thousands of dollars on a TPLO surgery 7 months prior and that I had just finished up a costly move. They worked with me on the price and got it down to what I felt was a more than fair price. They also treated my dog wonderfully and everyone I encountered was extremely professional and caring. Their facility is clean, state of the art, and their staff is knowledgable. It is a bit more expensive than your standard vet, but the peace of mind knowing my pets are in good hands is worth the few dollars more.

Dr. Mason and his long-term vet techs Crystal, Cindy, and Trish are amazing! They are willing to work long hours if necessary to provide excellent care to their client's pets. Recently I found out that Dr. Mason is no longer the managing veterinarian and I was shocked! I'm not sure why this decision was made but Corporate really blew it this time! He is the reason this office made it through Covid and is still in business. For months he was the only veterinarian there. He deserves to be treated in a manner that shows how much he is appreciated and valued not given a slap in the face. I hope they realize their mistake and reward him appropriately. Bottom line as long as this staff is here you won't go wrong bringing your precious pets to this practice.

Pet ownership is expensive, but in State College, All Pets is probably the most reasonably priced vet, and the care cannot be beat!
