Violating our privacy and protection. Article was placed on their website, the Philly Tribune, and google. When asked to have it removed, daughter told me it was my responsibility. If you care about your loved one, this is not the place to go. As it should be investigated for theft amongst other things.

I haven't had to call about anything, but when I needed an answer, Ivy Hill quickly returned my calls. Actually, I do need a service: my paternal grandparents are also buried at Ivy Hill, and I need to find out the cost of cleaning their headstone. Ivy Hill keeps the cemetery clear of debris and old flowers, thank you.

They offer traditional in ground burials, mausoleum, cremation, and stand alone cabinets. Unfortunately, I have been to a burial and a cremation ceremony in the last month at Ivy Hill. They also offer a chapel that is open daily if you want to visit. The chapel can hold up to 35 people. This was my first time going to a cremation ceremony. They have a section of the Cemetery that they scatter the ashes. The ashes are handled with care. It is very heartbreaking seeing your love ones ashes scattered. Even though the Cemetery is lovely, I hope I don't have to go back there anytime soon.

West Laurel Hill is one of those places. This cemetery should not be confused with the more prominent Laurel Hill Cemetery, located across the Schuykill river. When you come upon. West Laurel Hill, it looks like it's a modest cemetery. As you explore, it seems to unfold, more and more and more. This is true no matter which entrance you use. One of the most historical graves is also a monument to the 57 Irish Immigrants who perished at Duffy's Cut. They were all hired in unscrupulous ways to build railroad tracks. They were murdered and buried in a mass grave near Malvern...almost forgotten, until their remains were found. Some of the remains were moved to West Laurel Hill where they rest with a monument to all. Every year there is a ceremony remembering these unfortunate souls. This was why Lion and I first visited, to participate in this cemetery. Since it was a beautiful spring day, we decided to walk some of the paths, where we quickly realized just how much there was. We'll surely return again and again to this beautiful, serene place to visit. Highly recommend.

The body was picked up 2 blocks from the home, the cemetery is only a few miles from the home and it was held on a Saturday during the Philadelphia Bike Race, a few feet from the festivities, so, it was not a high demand time for them. It was basically a family gathering to say goodbye to a life long lived and we felt as if we were bothering them because it was not a more expensive funeral. As a small businesswoman, I value all customers and every sale. I felt Fitzpatrick, does not. Spending less is not a crime or something to be ashamed of. Tsk tsk.

The staff joined the YEE community virtually to introduce us to the goats and provide a background on the nonprofit's mission. Fast forward to November 2023, I finally visited Philly Goat project in person! I'd initially planned to visit the zoo on this day, but realized it had gotten too late to gain entry. Change of plans was a visit to Awbury and seeing the goats and chickens onsite! The goats are fun, and the staff is friendly and informative. If you visit and don't see the goats, check the map. It will highlight where the goats are, since they get their exercise around the grounds all day. We found the goats in a meadow area and said hello as it started to drizzle. Lots of fun! An old friend of mine is buried here. I came today to pay some respect on Mother's Day…read more Since Mother's Day was coming up they made sure everything was looking nice. The grass was freshly cut and all the old flowers were removed. The headstones are spread not jammed together, which is nice. The staff was very nice and helpful. One of them wished me a "Happy Mother's Day" on my way out. This cemetery is actually great for people who love history. For example, it is over 100 years old and contains the headstones of many people from the 1800's. The 8 sections of the cemetery are named after 8 prominent people from Reconstruction. A few famous people are buried here including James Bland. They also offer dove ceremonies after burials.
