Rumbutans, crunchy cucumber, tangerine, butter avocado, local grapefruit, lemon, kumquats
    Rebecca C.

Love this market that runs from noon to 1pm on Monday. I got - rambutans (delicious. A bit like lychee with hair) - local lemon (slightly green in skin, very juicy, juicier and sweeter than the ones from grocery store) - tropical flowers for $5 - best deal on entire island for anything. Birds of paradise and shampoo ginger. - crunchy cucumber (with a bit of rough texture on the outside) - kumquats (amazing here, bigger and sweeter than the ones from CA) - tumeric tea - fresh ginger Amazing!!!

People waiting to for the market to open.

Open every Monday, at 12 noon. We arrived 5 minutes before noon, and were surprised to see hundreds of people waiting for the opening. There were 20-25 booths. The fruits and vegetables were fresh, ripe, and inexpensive. There were some really exotic fruits that I've never seen before, for example, tropical cherry which was like grape with thicker skin, star fruit that I haven't seen at other farmer's markets, and some fruits that I've already forgot the names of. The market is located on Anne Knudsen Park. The Google Map has it wrong. It's on on the RIGHT hand side of Maluhia Rd. (also known as 520) when you come from Koloa Rd. Once you turn left onto Maluhia Rd. from Koloa Rd., it's almost immediately on the right, passed the baseball field. If you are here on Monday, definitely go there! Based on the amount of people that showed up, I'd agree with all the other reviews about going there early. Bring several bags! They don't offer any carrying bags. Because some of the fruits are really ripe and soft, you don't want to squeeze them, so separate bags might be a good idea. Most of the booths don't seem to accept credit card.

Yelp hours show 12-2, but when we got there just before 1:30 all the farmers except two had gone. Lesson - get there early! LOVED the tropical fruit that I was able to get from the one farmer still there. Sweet papaya, mango, lychee, and jackfruit. Gorgeous flowers!

Check out #15 photo of Joanie with her friend's local pineapple. That is photo of me at the Koloa Farmers Market a couple of years ago. Pres ently, I am not attending this farmers' market, but I may be back again. I miss all my customers. You may find me at Kmart farmers market Monday 3-5. You will see me Tuesday afternoon 1:30-5 at Waipa (1 mile past Hanalei Town). Lots of prepared food, crafts & fruit & vegetables. Lots of organic & non-GMO. You may also find me at Hanalei Saturday 9:30-12. Food, crafts, fresh produce & more. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Until I come back to Koloa market, you will still find wonderful choices of fresh, tropical & exotic fruits & vegetables & flowers right there in Koloa Town. See ya soon. Love & Aloha!

I've lived in Koloa for over a year and this was my first time at the Monday market. It will not be my last! I showed up about 12:30 and there was no line, plenty of parking and still plenty of produce to pick from. I purchased 12 papaya, a bunch of apple bananas and bag of small mango for $19. Much better than Big Save! Don't forget your own bag!

    Giant avocados!

I liked this market. I avoided the mad dash at opening time and showed up around 12:45. There was still a lot to choose from. Most of the tourists were lined up for the coconut water and not really buying produce. The avocados are huge! Unfortunately, ours never ripened before our visit was over. There are several other farmers markets on the island that are often frequented by the same vendors. One woman told me she also sells at the Hanalei market on Tuesdays. Will try that during my next visit.

Doesn't exist. We went to the ballpark on the correct day and time..., no signs, no vendors, no people.

Beautiful farmers market in the middle of nowhere. I was surprised to see prices similar to the mainland when everything is grown locally.

There was only one food vendor and no food trucks on the day we went, and all the crafts vendors felt more tourist-pricey than I'm the artist pricey. With appreciation for the 12:30pm hula performers, they are interrupted PBS-style by a 10-minute infomercial on the gardens' non-profit foundation. The speaker needs to tighten up the pitch and give it more energy.

Parking is also free. There was a variety of vendors. The website has 26 total vendors listed however, there was about 15 today. One vendor was playing Hawaiian music and all the vendor folks were nice. No one was pushy. Some accepted Venmo but cash was preferred. For food: There was a hot food stand, Puka stand, Malasadas (looked bomb!), fruit/vegetables, and Hawaiian Popsicles. The other vendors sold items such as wind chimes, soaps, jewelry, clothes, and dog outfits. Not sure how much things were going for as we really just wanted to see the free hula show! It was a nice family-oriented event. There were many shady areas around the garden to rest at. There were also restrooms available. Always a good thing! You could bring your own food and have a picnic while the show is going on :) bring a blanket or chairs to sit on for the show.

I look forward to this one because it's one of the bigger, more established farmers market. A few years back, I think it was located at the parking lot of the community college itself with more food trucks. The vendors are friendly & most give out samples. I am more inclined to purchase if the vendor is generous with samples (hint hint wink wink) Of note, it's in a grassy area & can get pretty murky/muddy after a rain. Parking is where you can find it at the park. There's of course fresh fruits & vegetables in season, cooked foods (Filipino, Thai, Korean & much more). The one that stood out was the Honey (Yellow) watermelon-- the vendor was all smiles & offered generous samples of the fruit. Oh my, my, my!! It was so sweet, crisp & mouthwateringly delicious! I couldn't pass it up. The sticker price was by size & I asked the vendor to pick a good one for me-- Yokes! $14 Wowzah. That's the most I have ever paid for any watermelon EVER. This had better me a life-changing delicious pick hahaha. We shall see. I was planning on getting my veggies here for my Sinigang (Filipino sour soup): got Ongchoy (kang-kong), okra & small taro--it is called gabi in Tagalog & gandus in Kapampangan. I love gandus coz is definitely creamier in texture compared to the big taro that is used for making poi. I always look forward to visiting this farmers market but sometimes we're not in the area when it is here. I was fortunate to have visited this time. UPDATE: the honey watermelon was sooooo worth it. Come & try!
