10/18/23 Wednesdays 3:30-6 pm Farmers Market. There's always something new here, new vendors &/or produce: for instance, ginger beer. There's the usual staples: sugar loaf pineapples, although none today, the ice cold coconut stand, the tropical flowers, The Right Slice & what's new us the baked goods stand that seemed to have quite a following (there were a steady stream of people in line (at one time about 25-30 people) & the usual fresh produce of vegetables & fruits: mangoes, papayas, avocados, dragon fruits, apple bananas & longan. It is an open air mall at the Kukui Ula Grove so there's ample parking-although you might end up circling like a vulture before you find one, unless you're lucky & get one as another car pulls out. There are restrooms both on the first & second floor (the second floor look newer & tidier). No atis today-which is what I was looking for

Great Farmer's Market- they have White (sweeter & without a core) Pineapple- so many vendors here!

This is our favorite farmers market on Kauai! Plan to go on Wednesday afternoon and enjoy food, pie (savory and sweet), pineapple, drinks, buy veggies & fruit for home and as snacks. Great bands, music and singers. Happy friendly vendors - customers & kids are smiling too- it's fun here. Lots to see and do. Many places to sit or walk around... Easy parking, inside the shopping center.

If you're in Poipu on a Wednesday afternoon, you should definitely check out this market. It is a great way to sample local products, stock up on fresh fruits and goodies, and walk around while enjoying the live music. A few things: 1. There is a parking lot but it definitely fills up on Wednesday afternoons. We were lucky to have someone leave just as we drove in but I hear that doesn't happen often. 2. Bring a tote bag or any bag Plastic bags are banned on the island so if you plan on buying anything (eg fruits, veggies, local honey, etc), it is much easier if you bring your own bag so you can walk around and continue to browse and shop. 3. Samples galore! Don't hesitate to try all the available salmples including macadamia nuts, honey, hot sauces, etc. It's a great way to stock up on souvenirs for friends and family. 4. If you get a fresh coconut to drink.....after you're done, go back to the vendor so they can cut it in half and you can eat the flesh. Sooo good! Overall, I really enjoyed my time at the Kauai Culinary Market. I stocked up on local fruits (eg apple bananas, star fruit), tried a new pineapple (helloo sugar loaf pineapple), bought a few slices of pies (mango, lilikoi pie and blueberry Pina colada)....oh and sipped on a coconut.

Wonderful culinary market at the Kukui'ula village shopping center in Koala. Great outdoor shopping atmosphere with live music. Everyone is so friendly and willing to chat. We read about this culinary market and decided to stop and check it out on our a way back from the Kaua'i Coffee Company. The culinary market starts Wednesday's at 3pm and ends at 6pm. Vendors start to set up about 20-30 minutes prior. If you get there early enough you can purchase items before the huge crowd arrives. There is a lot of parking for the center but it gets packed! We got there early and decide to walk around and check out the shops in the shopping center. There are several high end shops with beautiful art and jewelry as well as Hawaii souvenir items. There are quite a few restaurants as well but I highly recommend waiting till after you finish shopping at the culinary market because there is so much food to try. There are so many people selling local fruit at very reasonable prices. All the fruit we picked up was absolutely amazing, ripe, sweet and so fresh. If I could have taken fruit home with me on the plane I would have purchased another suit case. FYI you can't take the local fruit onto the plane! We saw tons of fruit at the security gates of the airport. We purchased mangoes, bananas, white pineapple (you can eat the core!) guava, passion fruit, star fruit, coconuts and so much more. Most vendors are within a dollar or two from each other. Local beef and fish were being sold as well. One of the restaurants had a grill out and were grilling Kobe sliders. Most of the vendors will let you try their product before buying. Some have samples out and others will cut up stuff as you chat. I would highly recommend checking out the Kaua'i Culinary Market, you won't be disappointed or hungry. Oh and most people will take a card but there were a few stands that required cash. There are atms in the shopping center for a nice high fee :)

Papaya, smaller one for $1, bigger one for $1.5. Radish $2.

Open Wednesdays 3:30pm in the Kukui'ula shopping center, with cooking demonstration. Get there early because parking could be an issue. The farmers market offers plenty samples. Love it! I normally hate tourist traps but that market didn't feel like one. The setting was more upscale than other farmers market located on dirt road, but the price was not outrageous. We got 2 star fruit for $1, papaya for $1.5 a piece, and soup. We loved the soup stand! Hubby got Hungarian Mushroom and Chicken Lemon Coconut for $10 a bowl, and I got small bowl of Fruit Soup for $5. They gave out samples to try. The Fruit Soup was a "special edition" for the holiday season, a dessert soup. The pie stand seemed really popular based on the long waiting line. There was a restaurant having half off wine price for Wednesday. There was also a ice cream shop. You could spend a comfortable afternoon there.

This market is great! Lots of vendors! Fresh fruit and some veggies..Macadamia nuts.. coconut donuts and some super yummy mac n cheese and more of course! Live music.. Chill environment. We tried a few food places but the girl with the mac n cheese and chili along with other soups we didn't try because the chili and mac and cheese was so good.. She puts mac n cheese at the bottom and chili at the top and it is so dang good!! That is not to be missed!! But we thought this was a great market with some great vendors and food options. We also had a pie which was great as well!

Star fruit, dragon fruit and banana from the farmer's market.

The speaker needs to tighten up the pitch and give it more energy.

Parking is also free. There was a variety of vendors. The website has 26 total vendors listed however, there was about 15 today. One vendor was playing Hawaiian music and all the vendor folks were nice. No one was pushy. Some accepted Venmo but cash was preferred. For food: There was a hot food stand, Puka stand, Malasadas (looked bomb!), fruit/vegetables, and Hawaiian Popsicles. The other vendors sold items such as wind chimes, soaps, jewelry, clothes, and dog outfits. Not sure how much things were going for as we really just wanted to see the free hula show! It was a nice family-oriented event. There were many shady areas around the garden to rest at. There were also restrooms available. Always a good thing! You could bring your own food and have a picnic while the show is going on :) bring a blanket or chairs to sit on for the show.

I look forward to this one because it's one of the bigger, more established farmers market. A few years back, I think it was located at the parking lot of the community college itself with more food trucks. The vendors are friendly & most give out samples. I am more inclined to purchase if the vendor is generous with samples (hint hint wink wink) Of note, it's in a grassy area & can get pretty murky/muddy after a rain. Parking is where you can find it at the park. There's of course fresh fruits & vegetables in season, cooked foods (Filipino, Thai, Korean & much more). The one that stood out was the Honey (Yellow) watermelon-- the vendor was all smiles & offered generous samples of the fruit. Oh my, my, my!! It was so sweet, crisp & mouthwateringly delicious! I couldn't pass it up. The sticker price was by size & I asked the vendor to pick a good one for me-- Yokes! $14 Wowzah. That's the most I have ever paid for any watermelon EVER. This had better me a life-changing delicious pick hahaha. We shall see. I was planning on getting my veggies here for my Sinigang (Filipino sour soup): got Ongchoy (kang-kong), okra & small taro--it is called gabi in Tagalog & gandus in Kapampangan. I love gandus coz is definitely creamier in texture compared to the big taro that is used for making poi. I always look forward to visiting this farmers market but sometimes we're not in the area when it is here. I was fortunate to have visited this time. UPDATE: the honey watermelon was sooooo worth it. Come & try!
