10/26/24 Grove Farms farmers market is located at a park across from the Kauai Community College, Saturdays starting at 9 am. I look forward to this one because it's one of the bigger, more established farmers market. A few years back, I think it was located at the parking lot of the community college itself with more food trucks. The vendors are friendly & most give out samples. I am more inclined to purchase if the vendor is generous with samples (hint hint wink wink) Of note, it's in a grassy area & can get pretty murky/muddy after a rain. Parking is where you can find it at the park. There's of course fresh fruits & vegetables in season, cooked foods (Filipino, Thai, Korean & much more). The one that stood out was the Honey (Yellow) watermelon-- the vendor was all smiles & offered generous samples of the fruit. Oh my, my, my!! It was so sweet, crisp & mouthwateringly delicious! I couldn't pass it up. The sticker price was by size & I asked the vendor to pick a good one for me-- Yokes! $14 Wowzah. That's the most I have ever paid for any watermelon EVER. This had better me a life-changing delicious pick hahaha. We shall see. I was planning on getting my veggies here for my Sinigang (Filipino sour soup): got Ongchoy (kang-kong), okra & small taro--it is called gabi in Tagalog & gandus in Kapampangan. I love gandus coz is definitely creamier in texture compared to the big taro that is used for making poi. I always look forward to visiting this farmers market but sometimes we're not in the area when it is here. I was fortunate to have visited this time. UPDATE: the honey watermelon was sooooo worth it. I was really impressed with this farmers market in Lihue! The selection of tropical fruits, flowers, and prepared foods was vast and it's the first farmers market I've been to that's held on grass, which just made it feel so welcoming. Get there early (it opens at 09:30) and people are raring to go much earlier than that. read more

Opens at 9:30 and parking can be crazy. Lots and lots of local vendors with amazing fruit options: rambutan, giant avocados, banana, soursop, papayas. If you can hold off until Saturday to get your produce, come and buy from here because 1.it is just BETTER and tastier than the supermarket (and oftentimes cheaper!), and 2. support local. A lot of things sell out so try to get there right at opening. There are also flower stalls, a stand selling fish, a kombucha stand, as well as some local stores that come and represent (like the macadamia nut store in Kapa'a). This is in an open grass field, the grass can be a bit wet at times FYI. Dogs are also allowed at this market, so you can bring Fido. People line up well in advance of 9:30 for the pastry stand here. The Kauai Kim Chee food stand is OUTSTANDING for prepared food plates. There is a white pineapple stand that sells cut pineapple and pineapple sorbet, it is delicious but also very pricy ($12 for fresh pineapple juice). A lot of stands take card but most prefer cash (or charge a fee for card). If you love fresh produce or are a "foodie", this is a MUST while visiting, and if I lived here I would be here almost every Saturday also. read more

We spent an entire Saturday morning here! Get here early before things run out and also to get a parking spot! We got to try our first sugarloaf pineapple which was outstanding! There was so much to see and eat here. Very diverse food from Thai to Bakery to Filipino and Hawaiian style foods! So many beautiful flowers for sale and everything was just fun to walk by and look at! Most vendors took card which was convenient too! This was the coolest farmers market we have ever been to and it was recommended to us by a local shop owner in Hanalei so we felt very fortunate to get to experience this! read more

I was looking for a farmers market to visit during our visit and found this gem! My family and I arrived around 10am, took our time walking around the stands to see options & prices. Some vendors were already selling out of some of their products by the time we got there! Most places take Venmo or card, but make sure to bring cash too! I loved seeing all the local businesses, such a wide selection of vendors for: Vegetables & Fruits, Honey, Crystals, Flowers, Arts & Crafts, and Food & Drinks! Vendors and shoppers here are kind, helpful, and chill. Great Family Friendly Environment! I'm pretty sure we spent 2-3 hours here, walking around and trying the different foods. So much local fruit and veggies! And I finally found soursop and butter mochi! Nicely organized, and not overcrowded!

The Kauai Community Market was recommended but it was closed when we went and this market was across the street and also on our list of places to try. It was pretty busy on Saturday morning but we found parking fairly easily. There was a good amount of vendors there with bread, fruits, coconuts, cupcakes, croissants, hot food, and flowers. We got a coconut to drink the coconut water inside, lychee, manapua (reminds me of bao buns), chicken skewers and an egg roll). I would recommend the sweet potato manapua over their meat option at Aunty Manapua because the char siu wasn't super flavorful. I would so recommend the coconut which was $6 each. While the coconut that we got was delicious to drink it was room temperature (and still recommended). Many of the vendors have Venmo options in case you don't have cash on hand but I would definitely recommend bringing cash. Plenty of space to walk around, eat and shop. They also have trash cans so you don't have to carry your trash around and continue eating more delicious finds. We only went to two farmers' markets and this is the one I would definitely recommend for selection and price. Worth a small drive to check out read more

We were able to come here on our recent trip to Kauai. It was such a great way to spend a Saturday morning! The food is amazing! We were able to pick up a couple of sugarloafs to take home. And even grab some fruit to have in the hotel room for snacking on during our trip. The vendors are all fantastic and kind. We found some great gifts to bring home too! Get here early! We arrived at 9:15 and it was already buzzing with traffic. Lots of vendors.

A quiet, well spread out farmers market. Lots of different vendors. Mostly farm vendors with lots of fruits and veggies. Fruits included many varieties of bananas, rambutans, citrus, breadfruit and more. We saw this red fruit we've never seen before and Google says it's a hibiscus fruit. There was also a pineapple frostee stand giving out samples of their frozen pineapple dessert. Food options today included Hawaiian (or maybe Polynesian), Korean, and Filipino stands. We got a mixed plate lunch at the Hawaiian/Polynesian one- Hanalei Taro and Juice. Very good value and very tasty. There was Kalua pork, pork lau lau, poi, rice, Lomi salmon, and a taro dessert. The guava juice was fresh and delicious. We also bought a taro Mochi bread. Really glad we saw this on our drive. I think they are here on Saturday mornings. read more

Since we had a full kitchen in our condo while visiting, we were on the search of a farmers market for produce. Luckily we stumbled across the grove farm market! We were not disappointed in the selection each vendor had. Such a cool experience supporting locals and trying produce that we don't have back home. If you love coconuts, I highly recommend getting a fresh young coconut that is sliced and diced in front of you, then, when you're done with the milk, they will take out all of the meat for you to enjoy. Masks recommended even though you're outside. Definitely check it out. read more

Enjoy shopping every Saturday for fresh vegetables from various farmers. My favorite vendor is Nonaka Farms where I buy string beans, bao buns, apple turnovers, lilikoi and chocolate mochi. Yum! There are food trucks if you want lunch too. read more
