This place is a gem and is a legit Hawaiian poke spot like what you would find on the Islands. I never expected to come across such an authentic place all the way out in Duvall. They offer one of the cheapest poke plates around these days starting at $16. There are a lot poke options as well as add-ons to choose from that I had a hard time deciding. The salmon skins were new to me with poke & were delicious. They also offer other classic Hawaiian dishes and the weekend brunch menu looks amazing. I'm not a huge breakfast person, but I will come back for this if not for the poke. The location appears to be in a newer development area but walking inside Kona Poke House, it's anything but that "sterile newness" feel. The decor was actually very warm, homey and inviting. It's screams aloha and for a moment I forget that Safeway is right next door. Speaking of, that means plenty of parking too. Oh and the people who run the place are super nice! read more

Just wow! Who would have thought I would find such an authentic Poke spot in Duvall. The lady running the place is as friendly as can be. They're so popular that most of their pokes ran out when we got there. We managed to still got some pokes to try. The Salmon Furikake was so delicious and fresh. All the toppings and sides were also amazing. The Yuzu Truffle sauce was to die for; I would buy a bottle of that. Moreover, I loved the seaweed salad and the crab salad. I also got to try their fries which were the perfect balance of crispy and fluffy on the inside. Wish I can visit this spot more frequently! read more

Wow, this place has legit poke! I mean it's legit legit... My hubby said just from walking in for the first time, he could sense it's a great place. It can be easily missed..we shop at Safeway all the time and had no idea there's a poke place a few doors down. We went on Feb 14 still chilly outside at 11am. It was like walking into a meat locker we were chilled to the bones. No heaters. Yelpers led me to this place and we were determined to tough out the cold and didn't question it. Just used to Asian places being cold and drafty. We should have known and dressed warmer. We were joking the whole time about eating Hawaiian food in an arctic setting. There was only one guy doing everything. He was pretty efficient we didn't wait too long given there were a few couples that came in right after us. We opened our compostable box that was brought to us by the kind one man show.. and was impressed. Everything looked plentiful, super fresh and super ono. My only critique was since it's $3 extra on the seaweed salad, I was expecting a larger amount. Then, we took our first bite and looked at each other and knew. Poke bliss! The real deal poke! ... not some chain or wannabe poke place, it's authentic and Hawaiian family run!! You can taste it throughout every bite. We were so transported to Hawaii even though in reality we were freezing to death. The base poke cost is $16. If you're not picky like me and want special toppings it should be just $16. That's a great deal imo! I wanted the furikake salmon and did an extra scoop of fish so did the spicy Kilauea tuna $5, quinoa for base $1, Hawaiian chili pepper aioli for sauce (lots of different sauce option), seaweed salad for $3 for side salad, and furikake seasoning, fried shallots garlic, salmon skins, half avocado $2. (Make sure get all the crispy toppings and furikake seasoning it makes your poke sing). They ran out of fried jalepenos. It's a $27 bowl but it was such a generous portion of good size chunks of the freshest quality fish. Not one hint of unfreshness! I got the spicy tuna with Hawaiian chili pepper aioli so was expecting some heat but it really wasn't spicy but good nonetheless. My hubby only got one scoop of salmon and he was beyond satisfied it really was a generous scoop compared to other poke places. He really enjoyed the white rice it was the perfect flavor and texture. If I had to choose only one fish, I would go for the salmon. They also have a ginger flavor tuna and a tofu protein option. We also got the appetizer lobster/crab cake 3 patties $14. (They have it as a meal as well that comes with sides.) it's not what you picture like a super formed patty. There's absolutely no filler. So it's a very tender and super flavorful patty of pure goodness! We were so happy we picked this. If you're craving poke, bookmark Kona poke house. I usually put soy sauce on it and Tapatio. I like the extra spicy touch. The macaroni salad it's equally good. I got the one with salmon which has a smokey flavor-delicious! You can pick between many Hawaiian salads. You can have white or brown rice. It has many kinds of pokes which I will have to try. So many dishes here. I bet they're all great. The owner, Orchid is super nice. Great service. She's from Kona and brings the island flavors to Duvall. It has picnic style tables and chairs inside and out. Tastes like home. I popped in after hearing about it from a friend. Not only do they have fresh seafood flown in from Hawaii, but they have choke gluten free options. Even on Kauai I couldn't get a gluten free moco loko unless I made it myself. Everything I tried was delicious. This place is amazing! The loco moco is delicious, the ahi cakes are incredible and the malasadas are to die for! The malasadas are only offered on weekends, but they are worth it every time! They also have delicious lemondes in the summer. They have puzzles and board games that you can play while waiting for your food to cook, and the staff is very nice. The atmosphere and decor is very beachy and the seating is very comfortable. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! read more

Incredible, fresh food meets a fantastic, friendly staff. I've been to Kona a couple times since moving to the area, and each time I'm impressed. The restaurant is really cute, and the staff really do just go above and beyond to be lovely and welcoming. The same people are usually there when I go in, and I've loved chatting with them; I always feel very welcome. The food is outstanding. I've sampled both the hot food options (such as in my picture) and also the poke bowls, and I've not had anything bad yet. The Elvis fried rice has that perfect ratio of meat to rice, and the egg is perfectly cooked with a runny yolk. The poke always tastes super fresh and flavorful, and you must, MUST, try the macaroni salad; I get it every time no matter what the rest of my meal looks like. Overall, I recommend Kona as highly as I possibly can. Don't pass up this gem! read more

When Kona Poke House first opened, we were grateful to see another local restaurant option for Duvall, as well as one which offered something unique to the area, like Hawaiian Cuisine. We came here perhaps 2-3 times during that first year or so. The quality of the Hawaiian food is good, if one is just looking at options for this type of cuisine on the Eastside and not comparing it to every Hawaiian Place in the Greater Seattle Area. It's on par or better than that of Island Grill in Bellevue Crossroads. What's frustrating about Kona Poke House is not its food but its operational hours as a restaurant. It's closed on Mondays and Wednesdays and during the days they are open, it closes for 1-2 hours from 3-5 pm in the afternoon. This is the latest schedule according to their website, but on 3-5x occasions beyond those times when we were able to successfully visit Kona Poke House while someone was there, it's been closed--We haven't even been able to give them business since the pandemic. It doesn't matter if one stops by during a time when it's supposed to be open (according to their website), since it's still closed. I've even seen a "Now Open" temporary stand-up sign advertising Kona Poke House that was set up at the Hwy 203 entrance to the Safeway Shopping Plaza (where they are located) and thought they might actually be open, but when I stopped by, they were still closed. I wasn't planning on leaving a critical review until this happened for the 10th time. It's frustrating. If you manage to catch Kona Poke House when they're actually open, then that's an achievement in itself. read more

This place is great! We went last night for the first time and will definitely be back. It had some decent vegetarian options for me. I got the Sweet Chili Tofu which was really good. I especially like that the tofu is thinly sliced before it's fried. This lets the tofu get nice and crispy without too much squishiness in the middle. My husband got the Loco Moco and really enjoyed it. We also got a couple of the cookies which were perfectly crisped on the edges while having a chewy center. They had a nice homemade feel to them as well which was nice. They don't feel prepackaged. All in all as far as first impressions go this place did well. My only minor gripe is that they don't take cash. Their Apple Pay system was down, which is how I typically pay for these types of expenditures when not using cash, and that caused a bit of a hiccup but we were able to workaround it. Wanted to love the place, but in honesty the cultural appropriation in this restaurant is unreal. The tacky tourist decor and "Hawaiian" signs on the wall made my stomach churn not to mention no Kanaka employees on top of the mispronunciation of the word Poke. Please if your going to have a restaurant representing the authentic Hawaiian culture maybe properly educate the employees and reconsider the decor used. The poke was close to authentic but just lacked a bit of flavor Im used to back home. The "Malasadas" were more like donut holes as it missed being light and fluffy and was more dense then expected but the flavor was great. read more

After walking in I was a little surprised at how small the restaurant was and surmised that the tables were mainly for waiting for take-out and not really for dining. While inquiring about the poke, I noticed the list of poke on the counter had "N/A" next to the majority of items. Due to all the poke items we were interested in weren't available, we moved on to the grill items. We ordered the Kalua Pork & Cabbage and the Kauai Garlic Shrimp. We also ordered a half dozen malasadas. So, it is my opinion that in these inflationary times, a restaurant needs to be on their A-game constantly because they may only get one chance to gain a repeat customer. On this visit, Kona Poke House definitely struck out. The grill items we had were OK but nothing to come back for. The malasadas were a poor excuse. When we got them home, the oil had saturated the bottom of the container. In all honesty those were the worst malasadas I've ever had. Needless to say, we'll be sticking to the better options in our neck of the woods. On a side note, my wife is from Molokai, HI and she made the comment, "Whatever happened to the old style traditional Hawaiian cooking methods." read more
