I was gifted a sweater for Christmas. It was too big so I purposely waited until the return rush was over to exchange it for a smaller size (2nd week in January). All tags were the on it including the Koo De Ker label. I was asked by the young woman if I had the receipt. I said, no it was a gift and I wanted to exchange for a smaller size. She indicated that I was too late to return or exchange. She could even get up off her perch to see if their was one that I could buy (and sell the other one on Posh Mark). Unbelievable! It's not like I've waited until February to bring something back. Koo De Ker should mark on their labels their return policy on gifts! As I left I said, "I guess I won't be back, but you don't even care". Her response was "no I don't". I get it! It's a small boutique store but SERIOUSLY! I would suggest to the owner to do a little training. But then again, perhaps she doesn't CARE either. read more

Koo De Ker is a darling little shop in the Maven District. They carry mostly women's clothing and accessories, a beautifully curated collection! There are also some sophisticated bath and body and fragrance items. On my most recent visit, they were burning the most glorious candle and it smelled like such a dream inside! The owner is super fashionable, friendly and helpful. Clothing ranges from basics at around $25 to stunning brands like Ulla Johnson and LoveShackFancy with pieces priced at $400+. I know of no other stores that carry these unique, higher-end products in the SLC area, and man, I fell hard for more than one dress! There is no designated sale rack, but if searching for a deal, I did notice a couple marked down items interspersed with everything else, and I have no doubt the lovely owner would be happy to point them out to you. I left empty handed on this visit, but I will for sure return, especially the next time I need a special dress, or just want to treat myself to a pretty, flowy frock. read more

This neighborhood is incredible; full of unique and stylish hangouts for fashionistas seeking to score threads not offered anywhere else in the city. Koo De Ker fits in nicely, perched on 900 South just below Hip & Humble with a flavor all its own. The offerings are focused on the ladies--so expect to find some sweet denim, tops and other pieces to mix and match. Fancy and folksy alike, so dresses and skirts are also offered. They've also got a nice variety of accessories, so be sure to peep all the displays and check out the cases near the register for more funky goodness. Funky being used relatively here, because I feel like their taste runs a little more dressy than it does urban, but you'll still find some unique and dressed-down items. I really love the building they're in. Several of the business in this district are in old homes which are now converted to stores. There's plenty of discovery to be had when you wander the home and peek around the corners to see what new things they've got. And they've always got something new. Do not order from this store until you read their return policy. If you do not like the merchandise, they will not refund the original form of payment. Does not matter if the item is full price or on sale. You will only receive an in store credit. I hope in the future their website would direct you to their return policy before you place your order. When your item is added to cart you should have to acknowledge you read and understand their return policy. I would never have placed an order knowing I was only going to get in store credit. Especially since I live out of state. Don't assume this retail store operates their business like the retail stores you are accustomed to ordering from. Extremely disappointed. Koo De Ker has long been my absolute favorite local boutique, they feature great denim, fabulous dresses, cute tops, separates, accessories and the friendliest service around. Kyong, the owner understands my lifestyle, my wants, my personal style and what I need each season and seamlessly helps me build a great wardrobe without breaking the bank. I was wearing a new Sweater from the shop at work recently when a client fell in love with it, I gave her the shops info, she called Kyong who graciously offered to ship it to her home as she lives out of town. I was so excited to go to Koo De Ker after reading everyone's reviews it is just too bad the owner did not feel as excited about having my business. When i walked in the ?owner/employee? was on a personal call so I scratched her cute puppy and started looking around. The clothes are really cute similar to BP at Nordstrom in style and price. I came in hoping to find some presents for my sister and I did but I ended up leaving empty handed as I felt uncomfortable like an eavesdropping intruder as the entire time I was trying to shop I couldn't help but hear the personal gossiping conversation that was apparently much more important than greeting a customer. Unfortunately, the owner's manners are not as exquisite as the clothing and accessories she sells. I haven't been in this store for years because I had a bad experience with the owner years ago - I came into the shop looking to invest a generous budget in a new wardrobe and she completely ignored me. I recently discovered her Instagram feed where she posts fun ideas for entertaining and pictures of her store's inventory. She seemed appreciative of her customers so wanting to support local small businesses during COVID-19, I decided to give her store a second chance. I didn't need the item but wanted to help. After completing my purchasing I witnessed her publicly criticize and shame a follower on Instagram for having a difference of opinion regarding the wearing of masks during Covid. She didn't just disagree with the follower. She took a picture of the follower's comments, added snarky graphics and comments which implied that the follower was stupid and re-posted it to her Instastories, totally shaming the follower. It was mean, unnecessary, and poor manners. If I could return the merchandise I purchased, I would. (She has a rigid return policy.) I'm sad I supported her business. She is extremely kind and complimentary of her clients that have large social media following. Beyond that, she is inconsistent. (See the other reviews.) I will not support people who mistreat others like she did. I was told very curtly that sale items are final and that the item was no longer in stock. Wow, I wasn't aware this place had been in business for 7 years; I'm not sure how it took me so long to stop in. Koo De Ker has an amazing, beautiful selection of quality women's clothing that you aren't going to find anywhere else in Utah. The employees were so sweet and helpful, without being pushy in the slightest. I spent more than I planned on, but I feel like everything was reasonably priced and they have a great selection of sale items; I can tell these are clothes I am going to want to wear every day. I ended up with a great mix of classic pieces and a few unique accent items. I wanted to wear everything at once when I got home, but that probably would have looked rather silly. read more

Koo De Ker is perfectly set in the 9th and 9th neighborhood of Salt Lake City. The boutique is run and owned by a fashionable young woman with a skilled eye for beautiful fabrics, flattering designs, and unique looks. The owner obviously takes great pride in her store and business, in addition to the items she discovers to sell. The clothes are reasonably priced and seem of good quality. Furthermore, it's refreshing to purchase items that won't be seen worn all around Salt Lake, as her pieces are not from large suppliers. But be careful! Her most popular/prized items sell out quick, so orders can be made over the phone. I will definitely continue to shop here for the specialized selection and to SUPPORT LOCAL. read more

RUDE RUDE OWNER.The girl working at the store was overtly rude to me the whole time I was there. When I went to pay for my item she again was rude to me, so I decided to be bold enough to ask her what the problem was. She said that she was upset because I did not end my mobile phone call when I first walked into the store. I explained that I had made sure there were no other customers whom I might have offended or interrupted when I first walked in. I was the only one there. She explained that she was offended because I did not acknowledge her when I first walked in. She said that people should ALWAYS acknowledge the owner of a boutique when they walk in and that it was rude for me to not have done that. (Wow) I explained that I had no idea she was the owner, and that I did not know that she needed this special attention from me. I thought of canceling my purchase right then and there, but I was using a gift certificate so I realized she would benefit if I chose not to take the item. As I walked out I said I was so sorry I had ruined her day... and then I said that actually I wasn't! And now I see there's a YELP review about HER being on a personal call while a customer needed her assistance. Very interesting... I most certainly will never shop there again. read more
