Yesterday, my wife and I were in the area looking for some local goodies as Christmas presents and made our way into Hip & Humble. The outside is very inviting-I love the color of the house-turned-retail building. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Mabe, the beautiful resident dog. She happily sniffed us, let us pet her and then she went back to her duties of wandering the store. Any place that has a dog is A-OK in my book! Each item in the shop appears to have been carefully curated to be here. Nothing seems out of place or odd. I love every item and how cohesive everything feels. Up front, you'll find an assortment of knick-knacks, home goods, soaps & lotions, etc. Toward the back is a room full of unique women's clothing and accessories. The owner visited with us briefly and we felt very welcome to be there. It's a fun atmosphere with adorable items. I look forward to returning for additional gift items in the future.

She indicated that I was too late to return or exchange. She could even get up off her perch to see if their was one that I could buy (and sell the other one on Posh Mark). Unbelievable! It's not like I've waited until February to bring something back. Koo De Ker should mark on their labels their return policy on gifts! As I left I said, "I guess I won't be back, but you don't even care". Her response was "no I don't". I get it! It's a small boutique store but SERIOUSLY! I would suggest to the owner to do a little training. But then again, perhaps she doesn't CARE either.

Brands are higher end and priced as such: Wildfox, Free People, BB Dakota, ASTR, MinkPink, etc. Lots that I like, but that I can find priced lower elsewhere (though, on my most recent visit, they had a small rack of sales goods). Of course, there is something to be said for shopping local. The dressing rooms were especially attractive. There was just one girl working, and she wasn't overly helpful, but friendly enough. Honestly, I felt shoppers guilt for my husband cause of how pricy they were. They were just fabric overalls that were ankle length. 50 bucks..... I have bought Gap denim overalls at that price but 50 for denim doesn't seem unreasonable. The lady that rung us up was nice. She folded my overalls, bagged them and handed them to me in a bag. Overall it was a neat store but very overpriced. If you are willing to spend the extra bucks for their products then go for it! I know that no one else in town will have the same overalls as me which is cool. But they were pricy and I probably wouldn't have gotten them if it came out of my own pocket.
