Pib's is my go-to for all my outfit needs! Seriously, I should just start wearing a pin that says "I got it from Pib's" everywhere I go. This last Christmas I needed a new wig and boa. I hurried into Pibs exchange and, with the help of a sales clerk found what I needed. The sales clerk took the wig into the back room to "check the price". He took the wig, quoted me the price of 32.00 and took it to the cashier. I was not allowed to touch or see it until after i had paid. The original price was 36.00. When i got it home i looked at the price tag and under the 32.00 price it was marked 24.00. It had been the floor model. Also the boa was marked up from 10.00 to 14.00. And it was poor quality. I will never shop there again. I'll go back to ordering from Amazon. Good bye local business. I finally visited the place after being told about it by a friend, and within 30 minutes, my arms were full of stuff. The place has a fantastic variety and selection ranging from clothes, jewelry, and accessories! The reward system is excellent, too! It has a tremendous environment and an amicable staff. Pib's has such great vibes but I haven't had much luck here. A lot of their new pieces don't seem to be very good quality and their pricing of vintage items isn't consistent. They have a lot of stuff and for the most part everything is reasonably priced even if their pricing scheme doesn't make a lot of sense, so you do have a good chance of finding something. They are very guilty of putting a "Trendy Tax" on vintage items that are trendier at the moment but that's show business. That being said, I've been here multiple times and will likely continue coming back in search of a good vintage find. read more

Pib's is a cool funky collection of new, used, and vintage clothing with a full service costume shop to boot. My teenage daughter absolutely loved the store, definitely a place I would have shopped at in my younger years too. Shoes, shirts, dresses, accessories, a collection of a little of everything wear wise. Couple things, parking is street only. There's a large lot across the street that was for a gym that is permanently closed, so we parked there. And the cost of the clothes seems pretty inflated. My daughter had a 'vintage' shirt she wanted, $20...I doubt it cost that much new 20 years ago. read more

One of the best secondhand stores in the area! They have a variety of sizes and styles! I am a big fan of their eclectic accessories- especially go go boots! They also have a great staff that has helped me find some fun and unique pieces. They also have a whole section of Halloween gear from costumes to hats to wigs! They have a great costume selection, tons of different options, great stuff. As for clothing (and costumes) they are very very pricey for a second-hand clothing store. Costumes around $40-70.. Shirts $20 +. I think I could go to other stores and find new options for that price. I found some really cute shoe ($40) here that I would've bought but they weren't my size. Some of their items seem to be new so that is a bonus. If you search you can find some cute in style items for good prices but I don't know if its worth the time or effort. This is an edit to my first part just to clarify: their clothes are second-hand, but their costumes are brand new. I was very very impressed with their selection of masks. If the costume area was a separate store I'd give them 4 starsbut since most people come here for everyday clothes I rank them at 2 stars. read more

I'm a fan of Pib's and have been for awhile. I have to admit, I've never tried to sell anything here so I can't comment on that aspect of the business, and I really don't ever buy clothes there either because as many have mentioned, the size selection is sad and everything seems shrunken, at that. Being a bigger girl, I don't even bother subjecting myself to the torture of sifting through racks of skinny-girl clothing. What I DO love are the shoes, accessories, costumes and crazy-weird raver type stuff. Were else in town can you purchase fluffy monster fur leg warmers and cyber tube dread falls? Nowhere! It's crazy but some of this stuff is way cheaper than if you made it yourself. Almost every time I visit I find a pair of shoes I love and I've never paid more than $10 a pair. This makes me think it's probably not very lucrative to sell to Pib's because at these prices they aren't paying their vendors hardly anything, but I'll take it! The fake eyelashes, makeup, funky tights and leggings are all fun. I enjoy looking for random little pretties and I always find something I wanna buy. read more

I've always been a fan of second hand stores, but this one has hardly any selection for men. It's mainly a costume store, with new and used costumes. I feel that this is pretty pricey for a second hand store. The best second hand store I'm been to is Aardvark's in Pasadena, CA. This one has high prices and with little selection. The upside to this place is the mask selection. It probably had the largest selection of masks that I've seen, so if you're into masquerades, this would be a good place, just not for me. read more

So cool! I go in often because you never know what you will find. A lot of free people, Marc Jacobs, so many designer stuff at reasonable prices. All employees are unique but cool. I stumbled upon this place one night after a great meal at Bruge's and was pleasantly surprised! As someone who spends a lot of time in different kinds of thrift and consignment stores, Pib's is somewhat of a gem. Not only do they stay up to date in trends, but their vintage selection is also superb! And of course, if you're looking for a last minute Halloween costume, this is the place to go. The service experience I had here was so ridiculous I seriously thought I was being "Punked"! Long story short, as long as they employ people like Marin they have lost my business and anyone else I can tell about her awful attitude. She should NOT be in any type of service position. I was exchanging a sweater for a different sweater as instructed and approved by the manager (before I bought it a few days earlier). They typically don't exchange..so I was sure to check with the on duty manager (Sara) that it was still ok, in that I had the receipt and approval from before to exchange for a different one (no refund requested). She had no issue honoring the exchange and approved the transaction. While we were there we shopped for another $100 worth of merchandise. When it was time to make the exchange and purchase more merchandise the girl working the register (Marin) immediately denied the exchange. I explained the situation and the double manager approval. She wouldn't have it. She cited the policy and stood firm. When I explained that the manager approved it, she took my receipt..circled the "policy" and gave it back to me (can you say "aggressive passive/aggressive" move?!). Wow. It's as if she took personal offense to the situation. She reluctantly started slowly inspecting the sweater. After a good 60 seconds of silence and "inspection"...it was so laughably awkward that I literally laughed out loud and suggested that she should invite the manager (Sara) over to confirm. She snipped back at me that she has to do a thorough inspection and will determine if she'll allow the exchange. The "inspection" continued (this was a secondhand ugly Christmas sweater by the way, not exactly high-end fashion) while I sat uncomfortably by and my girlfriend sought out Sara to issue a complaint about the kind of treatment we were getting from the cashier. Marin ultimately rang up the transaction but not without reminding me of the policy of no exchanges. Once she'd processed my additional purchase (you're welcome for coming back to give you MORE business) she promptly circled the policy at the bottom of the receipt and handed it to me. So a year or more ago this place was AWESOME. I liked it better in its old location and they had better stuff. I used to shop there all the time because I HAD NO MONEY and I could buy cool shirts there for 3 dollars. There was a nice variety, lots of different sizes, and they actually bought clothes from you so they could sell them. I went last weekend and was extremely disappointed. The location in itself isn't too bad considering there's nowhere decent to go anymore because the culture and charm of SH is being destroyed, so now they're across the street from the liquor store. Let me give you a few reasons why I no longer am a fan of Pib's. 1. Not one thing I found was under $5. They're selling second-hand clothes for $15 now, which is ridiculous. Why spend that money for other people's crappy clothes when I could go to Target and buy something new for the same price? 2. The girl clothes suck now. My hubby found some cool guy things, so if you're a guy the place is still worth going to. So either a lot of really really small girls are all donating their tiny mothers' clothes all of a sudden or they're just trying to attract a child clientele. I don't know. But the majority of the decent women's clothes in there are for very small people. Or girls on meth. Either way, I'm too big and I'm NOT a big girl. There was a time when I always found something in there that was not only weird and cute, but my size. Or close to my size. Now there's nada. 3. They won't buy clothing anymore. They say they will, but in fact they take your stuff, say it's out of style and out of season and give you 10% off on their clothes which look surprisingly a lot like the ones you're trying to donate. I've even tried selling a shirt I bought from Pib's just to see what would happen. It was the style they like and in the correct season, but NOPE. They wouldn't take it. Brilliant business plan though. Accept donated clothing only and sell it. Nothing but profit there. It's a wannabe hipster D.I. but with fewer choices. 4. It's turned more into a costume shop than a second-hand store. Great during halloween, but otherwise makes me sad. I've lost my source of cool cheap hipster clothing. So basically there are better places to go if you want second-hand stuff. If you want a costume or some good jewelry or scarves or a pink tutu for some reason, Pib's is great for that. Ladies: if you're taller than 5'5 and wear anything bigger than B cups, you'll just have to look elsewhere... read more

I happen to love Pibs Exchange! The first time I came in I was walking my dogs and didn't plan to go in but was with a friend that wanted to so i agreed. I didn't know if I'd be allowed because of my dogs and they were super sweet and didn't mind at all. They told me to be careful because there was a cat somewhere in the store but other than that I just kept them on their leash. The items they had ranged and all were super good pricing as well as current brands with good condition. I liked pibs, they had ATON of accessories and a great selection of costumes..in a bunch of different price ranges. The staff could be more helpful and into customer service. They seemed pretty preoccupied with their own work, but they were willing to stop and help if i had questions... I was able to COMPLETE my costume with all the fun things they had. They seemed to have a good selection of normal clothing, but I wasn't as impressed with the price...since it IS used clothing, the price should reflect that (at least I think it should). I would definately be willing to check out their stuff periodically...this is definately the place to find that unique touch to a costume! read more
