I just got my helix pierced & it's safe to say that the one & only piercer there, Carrie, is very knowledgeable of her job! She has a detailed and straightforward procedure that will ensure you a gooooood piercing. IT DIDN'T EVEN HURT!!! I don't have a high pain tolerance either & it hurt way less than piercing my lower lobes with a gun. Please take my review with a grain of salt. My experience at Koolsville was very professional, friendly, and Carrie really took the time to answer my questions and put my mind at ease. I'm giving only two stars because of the experience I had with my new piercing after I left. Carrie gave me an industrial piercing on my left ear and everything went fine, she told me to keep it clean, etc. although she did mention that I bled more than any of her clients before. My first night day/night was fine, nothing unusual happened. Then the worse happened. It started bleeding out of nowhere and I mean profusely like it was a miniature fountain of blood coming out of my ear! (No, I did not hit it, sleep on it, or any other sort of trauma) I spent the entire night going through countless tissues trying to keep it dry but as soon as I stopped holding a tissue to it the blood would drip down my face in seconds! Needless to say, I should have thought this wasn't normal (it was my first piercing so I really didn't know if I was just making a big deal out it). Finally it stopped bleeding in the morning long enough for me to get to class fine... then it started again. I had to miss a whole class standing in the bathroom trying to get it to stop! I decided to call Carrie and ask for advice but get this... she had never heard of anyone reacting to a piercing this way! All she told me was that it was NOT normal to bleed that way and that she needed to get a hold of a doctor. Which, by the way, freaked me out even more. The whole day passed and she never called me back. That night was a repeat of the bloody madness and I just couldn't take it anymore. I lost so much blood I was feeling light headed, I was sleep deprived, and so anxious from the lack of advice that for my own sanity I decided to take it out. sigh... As soon as I took it out it stopped bleeding. The next day Carrie finally called me back... well that's great timing but I think I would've taken it out anyway since she said the doctor said it may be bleeding like this for a whole week! A WEEK?! A week of no sleep and not being able to function normally?! Her advice was to put a band aid on it. Um ok. Well I guess it just was not meant to be. I suppose I'm more upset at feeling abandoned and I don't think she understood how much blood I was loosing and I was really scared. I guess from now on I'll stick to tattoos. read more

My experience with Koolsville Body Piercing is that they were an extremely pleasurable piercing experience. The shop was an amazing catch of the eye not only from the outside but indefinitely inside. There was a display of multiple jewelry selections and piercing options. One thing that I noticed was that the shop itself was connected with a tattoo parlor in which they had good interior designs that make one decide on whether even maybe get a tattoo with a cute piercing to go along with it. Carrie was very informative and friendly. She had answers readily available for any questions and concerns hat I may have had. And she never once made me feel uncomfortable for asking a "dumb" question. The procedure took less than 15 minutes. This is a no piercing gun establishment and all the utensils used on me came from a sealed sterilization bag. She even made it almost painless! I hardly felt anything once she pierced the needle. Once completed she let me make sure I really loved it (and I did) before moving on with how to properly care for my new piercing. She also informed me that if I needed any assistance changing out my jewelry she would be more than happy to help me...FREE OF CHARGE!!!! How awesome is that?! Yelp reviewers came through in a big way - this place is great! Carrie is a doll and totally professional. I walked in on a Friday evening to get my daith pierced to hopefully help reduce my migraines. Carrie assessed me and told me I could do either ear but recommended I go with the side I sleep on less. I am not a person with many piercings or tattoos, so I was definitely a bit nervous and out of my element. She asked me right away if I was getting it for headaches (probably because I don't look cool enough to be getting a piercing just for the heck of it!) She made me feel so comfortable and explained everything as we went along. She didn't sugar coat what would hurt or when, which I really appreciated. As someone who doesn't get piercings often, it was comforting to have someone so experienced and knowledgeable taking me through the process step by step. After 2.5 months, I am pretty much healed (average healing is 1-6 months), but I still clean it daily. I have fewer headaches for sure, but they aren't completely eliminated. I know each person reacts differently, so I'm happy that I no longer have headaches 3-4 times a week. I have only positive things to say about Carrie and the shop. If I ever decide I need another piercing, I will definitely go here. read more

I came in a few weeks ago to ask a question about one of my piercings not healing correctly. I got the piercing at a different shop but nevertheless, the lady was very helpful and so nice ! She didn't charge me for changing out my stud (which was too tight on my piercing which wasn't allowing it to heal) and explained some various ways to keep it on track. I've had so many piercings and by far, she is the most helpful and professional piercer I have gone to. About five years ago I had both nostrils pierced. I had to take out the piercings for my job so the piercings closed up. I re-pierced the right nostril about a year ago. Spur of the moment I decided I wanted to re-pierce the left side and have a ring put in the right. I called in and the person who answered the phone told me to come in whenever. When I walked in Eva was at the front. I told her what I wanted and she was extremely friendly and helpful. She started preparing the jewelry and the room right away. I literally waited maybe 5 minutes. She took a lot of time making sure to line my piercings up perfectly. She put the ring in the right side first to make sure it would go well with a piercing on the other side. When she put in the jewelry on the left side it matched up perfectly and looked awesome. I really liked how she pierced with the jewelry. The worst part of the experience is when they've already put the needle through but they struggle to get the jewelry in when you want to punch everyone. She had the jewelry in and was done before I even knew she'd put the needle through. Eva also gave me her card and wrote down her days/hours for me so I could contact her personally if there were any problems or I had any questions. Overall she was amazing. For the jewelry and piercing on the left side, and the jewelry and piercing change on the right side, I only paid about $55.00. The last time I got my nostril pierced it cost me $80, not including the jewelry. I would highly recommend coming here for piercings or jewelry. Thanks Eva! read more
