My experience at this endodontist office was disappointing…read more First, I found Dr. Barseghyan's bedside manner to be quite unfriendly, which made the visit uncomfortable from the start. Second, I was required to prepay for a 'pulp vitality' test because I was told that insurance might not cover it. The insurance ultimately denied the claim, stating that according to accepted dental clinical standards, this service should not be performed on the same day as a root canal. This was frustrating, as I relied on the office's professional judgment when agreeing to the procedure. Lastly, during my treatment, there was a significant amount of casual conversation and joking among staff. This made me feel overlooked and uneasy during what was already a stressful procedure. I hope the office considers improving patient communication, treatment planning transparency, and overall patient experience.

(I have had cleanings every 6 months my whole life as my teeth are very important to me.) The hygienist Carol was amazing. Friendly, professional and welcoming. After my cleaning and x-rays, in walks Amanda Henry... unprofessional and intimidating....even though I did need some catching up with my dental work she couldn't bring herself to present it in a positive way so that I would not be overwhelmed. She was 'astonished' at all the work that needed to be done and said she would not trust the work of any other dentist and that my crowns all needed to be redone. I was gut punched and felt I must have done a terrible job of taking care of my teeth. Curious about her next approach, I signed up for the consultation. (They have a conference room right there in the office where they regularly meet with their patients to present the thousands of dollars for their treatment plans) The office manager presented the treatment plan which was $24,000. The dentist Amanda was only present for the first few minutes to once again tell me she had not seen such a bad case. Then the 'office manager' proceeded to tell me they were going to redo crowns in six phases in groups of 2's and 3's. They offer sedation as I would be more comfortable since I would be in the chair for several hours as her staff would do a lot of the work and she would be present for some of the work. I had to ask as we went down the list for her to explain the problem and the work that was going to be done on each tooth....had to ask the office manager.....I was told this treatment couldn't wait and should be done at once....they have financing available!! I have since been accessed by a different dentist and have had one cavity fixed with one crown to fix...nothing else urgent. Please do not put yourself through this...dentistry gouging at its best.

Because of her incompetence, I had to go through a full retreatment with another dentist -- 6 long visits, each involving high doses of anesthesia -- just to fix the mess she left behind. I even had to take 6 days off work and pay $3,750 out of pocket. To make it worse, the clinic has now removed her name from their website, pretending like she never existed. Zero accountability, zero apology, zero concern for the patient. I've attached before and after photos and proof of the amount I paid for retreatment. The difference speaks for itself. If you care about your health, time, and money, do not trust this clinic. They'll cost you more than you can imagine.

Doctor Rosalyn and her team took me in as her personal project. She continued to encourage good oral hygiene, and I never felt once that I was being judged for my lack of dental care. I here come after four years, six crowns, six fillings, and four wisdom tooth extractions. I can say I am qualified for a fair review for Crystal Lake Dental Associated. Every time I visit the dentist, I always feel at home. Becky, with her sparkling pink standley mug, greeted me with a big smile when I first walked into the dentist. Crystal, the manager, has helped me several times in answering questions regarding my out-of-pocket cost and assisted me in putting together an estimate of cost for FSA purposes every end of the year. Needless to say, they are the backbone of making a great customer experience for me. Secondly, I have to take some time to highlight the harmonic when the doctor works with the dentist's assistance. I have had the opportunity to be cared for by dentist assistants Barb and Leidy. When Rosalyn worked with Leidy on my teeth, I felt like they were harmonizing a dance. From the exchange of dentist equipment to requesting suction tools for saliva, They complement each other without much conversation; it felt like a well-choreographed dance between Leidy and Rosalyn when they worked together. I was just there for the show; the experience was magical. Last but not least, Doctor Rosalyn takes pride in her work; she is a perfectionist. I have been very impressed by the time he takes to talk and explain procedures to your comfort zone! Dr. Eskoz is a specialist and works on procedures your dentist sends you to have done! They work together to accomplish root canals, implants, etc.! I had an emergency and I had no dentists due to insurance change, and the Dentist I had known was out of town! The Emergency Center I tried was using up all my insurance plus expecting me to charge lots of work...when ALL I wanted was 1 tooth out of pain! I didn't feel comfortable with the work this Center was proposing and had started! Because I Trust Dr. Eskoz, I visited his office in Lake in the Hills,which had a Great time slot open.... to seek his HELP and advice regarding my situation! Dr. Eskoz ... was very thorough and helpful by carefully checking the tooth in pain, and the work that was started by this Emergency Center...! The consultation he gave me I found priceless! I heard the entire conversation. Included in that conversation he told the receptionist to hold the 3:45 appointment open for me and he told her that I would call her as well. As soon as I left my dentist's office I called Dr. Eskoz. All I got was an answering machine. I left a message saying who I was and I was confirming that I wanted the3:45 appointment and I left my phone # for them to contact me. At 3:45 I arrive at Dr. Eskoz office and went to speak to the receptionist and explained who I was and that My dentist had asked that they hold the 3:45 appointment for me. She said, "no he didn't" She may not have realized it but I heard him say that. She then told me, (in a rather snotty manner) that Dr. Eskoz was not in this office today and that I would have to have been at the appointment at 3:15 any way. I then explained that I had called several hours ago to confirm the appointment but I only reached an answering machine. So, I left a message. She then told said, "We've been very busy all day, we haven't listened to our messages." Is it my fault she didn't listen to the messages?! Especially when she should be expecting a call/referral from another dentist. The only reason I can come up with for making a new appointment at this dentist is that I was in bad pain and felt desperate. The appointment was for 2 days later! Thank goodness I had some pain killers left from my regular dentist to get me through. I arrived early for the next appointment. When Dr. Eskoz came in he explained that he would put me on an antibiotic and not start the root canal until the following Tuesday. I knew I would never make it as far as pain. I could not function already and I told him so. He prescribed some more pain meds. I was not happy but felt I had no choice. On my way home I find I had a message on my cell phone. The receptionist said Do not fill the prescription, do not take that medication. Apparently they felt there was possible problems with another medicine I was taking. I called the office back and got the receptionist but the office was closed and everyone else had left. I told her I can not possibly go through the long weekend with this pain (Thanksgiving weekend-4 days, office closed). She said she would call Dr. Eskoz and get back to me. Dr. Eskoz never got back to me. He didn't care that I was facing a long weekend of horrible pain. I filled the prescription anyway. I had already used this pain medicine with out any negative effects and I could barely stand the pain WITH this medicine. I think it was the following day that the receptionist said I could come in one day earlier, Monday afternoon instead of Tuesday afternoon. BIG WHOOP! I asked if Dr. Eskoz can't get me in any earlier than that, would he give me a prescription for something else? She said, " No, because you took the other medication when he told you not to, he won't give you anything. You can take Advil." So.... now he feels he has to discipline me for not wanting to be in pain while he goes home to his family for the Holiday weekend. Had he been a compassionate person, which in his line of business he should be, he would have called me back with another option so that I too could enjoy the weekend. He could have opened up the tooth right away, at that appointment. Yes that would have taken 1-2 hours but that would have relieved me of the pain. I'm venturing a guess, but I think no one wanted to delay their plans for the weekend. Who cares if a patient is in pain. Even if everything else had gone smoothly, I have to say, there is no warmth with any of the girls behind the desk. The one was downright cocky. People are imperfect and make mistakes. But this was bad attitude and selfishness.
