I don't even know where to start, but having Dr.Tanaka as my doctor has been truly life changing. I knew from my first review that he was a keeper. There is no giving up with Dr. Tanaka like some of my past doctors; my past doctors used to say, "you're too stiff" or "we will try again next time.". Dr . Dr. Tanaka is the only chiropractor I will go to. He is very knowledgeable about the joints and muscles in your body and is able to pinpoint what the problem areas are. Since getting my adjustments from him, I have had less shoulder and neck pain/discomfort. I work at a desk all day, and he gave me different exercises I could do to relieve some of the tension in my shoulders. I used to go in weekly, but now I go in once a month and have never felt better. I feel like I am able to do all my workout activities (yoga, surfing) with no pain and more effectiveness! This place is located on the 6th floor in the Bank of Hawaii building at Alamoana. Dr.Josuke Tanaka is very friendly and informative. He usually checks your posture, spine, and strength at the beginning before doing treatment. The treatment methods he use is a mix of deep tissue massager, massage cups, and then chiropractic adjustments on your sides, back, and neck. He also showed me some stretches I can do at home. He also provides Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, also known as HBOT. I haven't tried it, but check with him if you are interested. For parking, there is a lot of parking at Alamoana shopping center. I usually park on the 2nd floor outside of Genki Sushi then take the elevator up to the 6th floor. read more

However, due to my busy holiday schedule (I was on the island for vacation), it took over a week before I got into his appointment books. But it was worth the wait! Dr. Tanaka isn't your normal Chiropractor. He doesn't follow a routine like most others and focuses on your areas of concern. The whole TENS/EMS for 20 mins plus a crack here and there from other chiro's really gets old fast. I remember telling another chiro that I was having lower back issues so he cracked my neck and went on with his normal routine. I was like "you've got to be kidding me" I watch enough youtube to know what a good chiro is supposed to do dammit haha You won't get any of that with Dr. Tanaka! He uses different techniques and technologies including brain exercises, cupping, light therapy and traction to name a few. I'm amazed at how clear, focused and more coordinated I am after one of his brain exercises. If you're looking for a really good Chiropractor, I'd highly recommend giving KOS Chiropractic a try.
