I was a first-time patient and clearly told the clinic I had no prior experience with PT and asked what to expect. Despite this, I was not informed that insurance deductibles reset at the start of the year. My appointments were scheduled for 12/20/2025 and 1/2/2026, which caused me to pay my full 2025 deductible for just one visit. There were several opportunities to communicate this - during scheduling, insurance intake, or before the appointment - but it was never mentioned. Follow-up communication was slow, and the response I received lacked professionalism and accountability. No effort was made to resolve the situation; instead, responsibility was shifted entirely to the patient. read more

I'm currently doing my PT here once a week due to my very contracted neck and shoulders that has been bothering me for years until recently that it prevents me from doing activities and also doing my job properly. After getting referred, they called me and I was able to schedule my appointment the next ff: day (which is unheard of nowadays). Sean was my PT and was very patient. I sometimes feel that my neck and shoulder pain will just be a chronic and I just have to live with it but they showed me proper exercises and it really helped a lot. I usually get a chiropractor and massage every week but now that I'm doing it there every week, I didn't feel the need to go since my neck and shoulder pain is tolerable until the next PT. I just wrapped up a month-long stay in Honolulu and had the opportunity to work with Sean Fields-Eaton to continue my recovery from a fractured tibia. The experience was top notch from the initial consult to the actual physical therapy sessions. Sean challenged me with plethora of exercises that targeted the areas for recovery and helped explain the kinesiology behind each. And over all, I recieved the best guidance, recommendations and most importantly- care! Pearl has gone above and beyond when it comes to Communicating between my doctor's office and insurance to be able to schedule me in a timely manner. I'm so glad that CORE Sports has expanded and opened another location in town! Although, the Kapolei location is closer to home for me...I actually prefer to schedule my appointments after work and the town location is actually more convenient. Before I start, let me just say that as a health care provider myself, I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to my healthcare and those I choose to treat me. I have high expectations when it comes to patient care. I had a terrible experience in the past with physical therapy and didn't believe in the benefits. Luckily, I met Shaun and Dana by chance and decided to give PT another try and I'm so glad I did! I have been seeing Shaun for physical therapy (for different injuries) and personal training (HIIT) for the past 9+ years...even before they opened Core Sports. As a runner I've had my share of different overuse injuries...mostly because runners are crazy and will run through any kind of pain...until we can't. Whenever I take time to come here for physical therapy to rehab my injuries, I always came back faster and stronger. Shaun and Dana are very professional, knowledgeable, and truly care about getting their patients better. I also started getting weekly deep tissue massages (with graston and cupping) from here as well. My massage therapist, Francis, is so awesome! Every so often, an old injury of mine flares up. I have exercises that I do to manage it, but I really needed someone to work on a specific spot on my shoulder. The scheduling process here was easy and was accommodating to my schedule. I was scheduled with Aja, a massage therapist. She was friendly, professional, and to the point. I told her exactly what I was dealing with and she addressed it. She was able to reposition my arm throughout the session to really get at my problem spot. A couple weeks later, and my shoulder still feels great! What a great clinic. Even when I was waiting, I noticed whenever someone came in they were instantly recognized and greeted by a staff member. Bobby is a great massage therapist and will always cater to your specific need depending on what areas need work. This is my third time seeing a physical therapist after several surgery's to my knee. I went to the same PT after the first two surgeries but felt I wasn't given the same attention as needed. I decided to try Core Sport after my third surgery and have been pleasantly surprised. I used to make the drive out to CORE Sports - Kapolei (from town) for weekly personal training sessions with Shaun. So to say I was absolutely thrilled to hear they were opening up a town location is quite an understatement. I recently started having some recurring neck issues and had full confidence in Shaun to get me back to "normal." He takes his time in thoroughly assessing your injury to ensure he creates the optimal physical therapy plan for you. He explained in detail what was going on with my neck and then led me through the exercises. Form is very important with Shaun so he corrects me if I'm doing an exercise wrong or need minor tweaks (or to increase the weight). After my first session, I was impressed that he emailed me my exercises so that I can do them at home daily. Working alongside Shaun is Francis, who is a licensed massage therapist and is currently studying to become a physical therapy assistant. These two guys are truly a Dream Team! Shaun makes sure my injury is improving and monitors and modifies (if necessary) my exercises, while Francis ensures that I never leave there feeling anything short of refreshed with his amazing massages.
