I can't speak for lunch, but breakfast... Oh my. There isn't anything on the menu that I've had that isn't cooked perfectly. The hostess/waitress/director is always on top of her game, and you won't wait for coffee. In fact, if you're one of those chemists that has to get the balance of your sugar/creamer/coffee just right, put a napkin over the cup, because they are quick on the top-off. Since I'm a black coffee drinker, couldn't be better to always have a full hot cup. And the coffee is never bitter. I threw a curve ball at them and ordered a Monte cristo, not on the menu. And it was one of the best ever. Best breakfast within 20 miles I've found yet. read more

There is decent food here, good atmosphere on a Saturday or Sunday morning and a lost coat price for food. It's simple short order stuff, but definitely some good comfort foods there. I don't have much negative to say about the restaurant but there's not much there grabbing you to come back. It's your typical diner style grub always good to cure a hangover :) read more

Lois and I went to Kosta's for the first time this morning. We highly recommend this casual, fun eatery. Lois had a Hawaiian Omelet and I had an Eastern Omelet. The omelets were fluffy and the best we had ever eaten. Kathy, our server, is a joy. She loves people and creates a warm, friendly atmosphere for the guests. Try Kosta's for breakfast or lunch. Went to Kosta's for brunch before heading to the Spencer Fair. We were looking for a homey breakfast and this place didn't disappoint. My husband ordered the peanut butter and banana stuffed french toast - it was beautiful and he loved it. I got eggs with homefries and blueberry pancakes - all were delicious. Was it unique, gourmet food? Definitely not. But I wanted my eggs cooked nicely, well seasoned and crispy home fries, and fluffy pancakes with lots of fresh blueberries, and it delivered on all fronts. The staff was friendly, the food was delivered promptly, the portions were generous, the price low, that was the highlights. I ordered ham and cheese omelet, home fries and corn beef hash. There was very little ham and cheese in the omelet, I don't think there was any corn beef in the hash, just mushy potatoes and seasoning. My wife thought her Crepe was ok but lacking corn beef. We were at Kosta's this morning for breakfast. What a delightful surprise. And well worth the 25 minute drive. This place will be here for a while. We arrived at 9AM and the place was pretty much full and with good reason. The restaurant seats about 80 I guess which is pretty large for a breakfast and lunch spot. Parking was plentiful and there were spots for all the diners. We were seated promptly and coffee was on the table in minutes. I had the farmer's omlette which was a nice three egg omlette with bacon, veggies and cheese. A great value at $7.95. No grease at all on the omlette or home fries. Everything was perfect. My wife had the apple french toast special which she said was terrific. I am not much of an apple fan, so I cannot comment. There were plenty of servers available. All the waitresses and busboys were busy refilling coffee cups. The place is spotless. I looked at other dishes and they all were appealing as well. We will be back. Soon. read more

This place is clean, bright and relaxing to be at. The waitress was pleasant. At 10:30 am there were several table and by the time that we left, more folks were arriving. Our stuffed french toast with bananas and peanut butter and the blueberry pancakes were tasty, served with great presentation and at a great price for what we got. The cook reserves a section on the grill for these types of orders so that the food doesn't end up tasting like sausage, bacon which to us spoils the pancakes and french toast. I want my meal to taste like what I am ordering, not a meat side order. We will return. The only disagreeable thing to note was that the tv was blaring in the diner area. The lights were turned off there and no one was being seated there. Why keep the tv on? The music piped into the restaurant lent to a relaxing experience that was competing with the "View" being televised, so we heard shouting and laughter. Chuck the tv. You don't need it. read more

Food was excellent. Service was not. I normally don't do reviews whether I have a good experience or not. But this time I had to. Took me almost an hour to get two eggs and toast and there was barely anyone there. I was also afraid that the waitress serving me was going to die. Sounded like she had been smoking for 50 years and wheezed all the time and coughed everywhere without covering her mouth. Really disappointed me while she brought me my breakfast basically passing out from coughing so much. I was disgusted and debated on leaving. Maybe I'll give them another chance? Probably not. I'd rather go down to Charlies Diner down the street. read more

Just had lunch here. Homey atmosphere and very friendly, attentive staff. The food was hot and delicious. Three of us shared an appetizer of chicken quesadilla. Then one of us got a handmade, thick burger patty, another of us a HUGE cheeseburger wrap both with a generous pile of hand-cut fries and pickles, and the last ordered Chicken Alfredo with tomatoes. Add on three drinks and a coffee and $26 was a steal! Also, our waitress checked in on us every 5-10 minutes, and she was busy...Great experience. read more

I don't know when other reviewers dined at Kostas but today the D team was covering the kitchen. Note to self: turn around and walk out if the staff won't bother to tune the blaring station playing on the radio. Nothing like loud static and Bob's Discount Furniture ads to set the mood. Things only got worse when the waitress offered to seat us near the swinging kitchen doors - in an empty dining room. It wasn't as if she didn't have 30 other options. My turkey bacon wrap was soggy and made with pale, watery deli turkey, rubbery bacon and lettuce a rabbit wouldn't eat. The pickle was limp. But the onion rings were tasty. My husband's tuna melt tasted as if it as days old. His fries were ok. Oh - did I mention there was something dark floating in his ice water? We debated if it was a deceased fruit fly or perhaps an errant parsley flake. No final determination. Coffee was fresh brewed and good. The server asked if we wanted to box the remaining half tuna sandwich and the remaining half wrap but we declined. Locals seem to support Kostas - there were 3 or 4 folks at the bar in the early afternoon - but we won't be going back. read more
