My fiance and I went to The Goods Bakery & Cafe for the first time today after having spent the last 6 months or so wanting to. We're so glad we took the time and drive to finally go and it's safe to say it may just be our new spot. Immediately when we stepped inside, it was a breath of fresh air. The decor, lighting and merchandise from small local vendors were all so inviting. Both the FOH and BOH staff were beyond friendly, accommodating and all seemed to work well together - something that's hard to find at most cafes nowadays. The coffee and food were both served promptly, despite a large family having come in and ordered at the same time as we did. We are both coffee snobs and fell in love with this week's specials. We chose the Chocolate Covered Strawberry and Teddy Graham lattes with almond milk. We have never had a cafe where we did not have to customize the amount of syrup, cold foam or espresso used to adjust it to our liking but seeing as it was our first time here, we ordered them as-is. The coffee flavor shone (Atomic Coffee Roasters), the cold foam was cohesive with the drink, and the homemade syrups were beautifully flavored and not too sweet. Most importantly, the coffee was not watered down, too milky or burnt. It was beautifully smooth and had a wonderful mouthfeel. Lastly, we decided on a whim to order the roast beef sandwich. It was perfectly light, refreshing and extremely filling. The two of us split it and it was the perfect amount of food for a wonderful price-point. The chewy ciabatta alone makes this sandwich worth coming back for. I'm not sure if it's made in-house, but it certainly tastes like it! The Horsy-Mayo is the perfect balance of creaminess and bite and complemented the tender roast beef and greens. All-in-all, there is nothing we didn't love about our trip to The Goods Bakery & Cafe and we cannot rave about them enough. If you've been questioning going or taking the drive - just do it! It's the best spot around.

I haven't been out that way for many months now. I picked up a dozen today and we were all so very disappointed. Every filled donut had 25% (or less) of the filling they've had prior. You would have to bite way into the donut to finally reach the filling and after taking two bites the filling was gone. This conclusion was unanimous by the way. In the past, when you would bite into a filled donut, the filling would ooze out, and every bite would be have more than adequate filling, and now we could barely find any. When I told this to a friend, she told me they had stopped purchasing Dippin Donuts at least from that location for the very same reason. I don't know if it is just this location or if it is across the board at all locations, but it is undeniably obvious when you bite into a doughnut now from the Leicester location that it has greatly changed. I don't where those directions to change the recipe so drastically came from, but unless you go back to making your donuts the way you always have in the past, we definitely will not be buying donuts from there again and wouldn't recommend it. Did you change the recipe and/or also decide to cut way way back on the filling for a reason? I'm sorry to not give a good review, but these donuts were skimpier than Dunkin's and I hope enough people state the same that you will remedy this. Thank you.

I tasted to confirm) and a few others. Yes, price is above that national chain, but you get what you pay for. Quick service, good eats, they put their money into their food (and probably their workers) instead of their branding. So do support your local place - even if there's a few of them in the area - and dip before you dunk!

So it's July and upon walking into the shop I was shocked that there was no ac and the wave of heat hit me with force as soon as the door opened. Was going to see what the vibe was like but way too warm to hang out so I just ordered an iced latte with caramel . Gotta say it only took 3 mins but I couldn't wait to get out of this stuffy place - Also even though there were 2 people working on laptops (they must have gotten here at dawn when it was still cold) there was an ac unit in the wall just not in use. The one staff member there has to endure complete silence (why is there no music or even talk radio ?! ) in an oven I felt bad so I tipped her well and was on my way. Latte was nice and so was the cookie I had but man o Matty o I will not be sitting down in there anytime soon

This place is not and will not be anything representing corporate coffee which has taken over damn near everything in the last 20-30 years. Before the wild expansions of SB and DD, smaller coffee shops dotted the landscape. All the good ones had their quirks and their charms. The young woman behind the counter doesn't say much, but I don't think she has to. In any event, I find myself delighted with the iced coffee here. It is smoother than the swill I normally drink and seems to not dilute as much. A solid 4.
