Contractors can be notorious for dragging feet or being difficult, but not Navid. From day one, Navid demonstrated focussed care and attention to timelines as well as our needs and concerns. Navid and his crew worked continuously and consistently during the entire 2ish month period to finish the job, often working weekends as well. Navid's goal, it appears, is not only to get the job done as quickly as he can, but also to make sure to and get it done right. He has an knack for balancing perfectionism and speed. On so many occasions, Navid would be the one to notice details (like the vent on the ceiling needs be moved away from the wall to accommodate the new molding, pipes were not coming from where we expected) and make every effort to move quickly on the inevitable, unexpected discoveries that added scope to the project. He was so collaborative about what he was seeing and thinking, working to be conservative on cost and making sure that any issues were addressed well and to completion. Navid's care to get the job done right really shines through. He often let us know what needed to be fixed or done better before we even said anything. He really notices details and takes care of them as quickly as possible. When they finished the job, he had his crew power wash the ground in the front and backyard to make sure everything looked as clean as it did before the projects began! Our house has several things that still to be upgraded so it feels really good to know that we can trust Navid to help us in the next phases. The inconveniences of remodeling are no fun, but it helps tremendously to be able to trust our contractor to care to do it right and on time. The custom vanity and door in my bathroom were not primed and the paint is chipping off with barely a touch. The paint job on my kitchen cabinets was deplorable. The paint bubbled and chipped almost immediately. When I questioned them about it, they blatantly told me there was no issue and blew me off. These are not the only issues I had with them, but they are something I have to look at every day. Also, they were very threatening when I didn't want to pay the balance because of these issues (in addition to a major floor issue which I have since had repaired). Beware!

Working with Don Williams has been the worst customer experience of my life! Not only has he billed…read moreus for an incomplete project, but left us with shoddy workmanship for others to repair. He has anger management issues, and not only made threatening statements, but tried to bully us into paying for work that he refused to finish, and to top it off, he insulted me in almost every email communication. As you can see in the photos, the tile work hasn't been finished. Nor has the drywall, electrical, plumbing, toilet, or paint... and yet, he sent invoices for all of that! He placed a lien on our home, tried to sue us in civil court (even though it violated the contract), and all this required us to hire a lawyer to protect ourselves. He also billed us under two different license numbers with the CSLB. Almost 8 months later, thousands spent on legal advice, and the CSLB investigation in process, we still don't have resolution (or a working toilet...) The tile installation is sloppy - see for yourself. The shower pan doesn't drain (water pools in the middle). We failed our first city inspection, as they cut into our outside (structural) wall beams. They had to remove and try again with our tub framing, closet door framing, and "forgot" to put the floor insulation back in after removing it - and billed us for the materials twice! Months later, the grout is cracking in the corners, recessed ceiling lights are falling down, and who knows what else... They damaged our custom made walnut vanity. This project went on for 13 weeks (well beyond the contract deadline) before Don refused to come back, and sent us all of the invoices. My guess is that he ran out of time, and needed to move onto the next jobsite (speculation). Whatever you do, DON'T hire this guy. He doesn't check the team's work (he has three team led by: Miguel, Jaime, and Felipe). Don only came by about once per week, and didn't address our concerns during his visits. I didn't encounter any red flags when I first met him, nor when I checked references, but I would never, ever, ever recommend that anyone hire him! RUN AWAY! As in other review responses, Don will claim that we were too picky, or difficult to work with. Let the photos speak for themselves, and know that we've never encountered such a terrible business relationship after being homeowners for 12 years. We learned a lot of tough lessons throughout this ordeal, if anyone wishes to private message me, I can share more details.

I have to say they did an amazing job on all items. For the kitchen remodel, they did everything great - cabinet install, appliance install, countertop / backsplash. Don also has relationships with suppliers and suggested places which helped me find exactly what I was looking for in terms of granite slabs and backsplashes (at Bedrosians). He also has a relationship with MSS (Marble Stone and Solutions) who did a great job with our countertops. They are also great with providing suggestions and answering questions. See the pictures - they speak for themselves. For the crown mouldings and baseboard they use techniques and take the time to make it look really nice and professional. The hardwood floors were installed so they flow nicely throughout the house, while following all the rules to properly install hardwood - it looks great! One thing I should mention about the team is that they pay close attention to detail, striving to keep everything centered, straight and perfect. They also did a great job with the kitchen lighting - putting spot lights right where it makes sense, and putting LED ribbons under the cabinets. It also turns out that they are quite efficient with materials - I ended up returning 10% of the hardwood because they didn't need it. I look forward to working with him on our next project(s), as we're not quite done renovating our house.

This was one of the main reasons I chose them, the majority of the other contractors didn't understand or know the rules or regulations regarding ADU builds in San Jose. David and Shai were very experienced and knowledgeable on the details so it gave me confidence that they could do the job well. I ultimately chose them to the build also because of the value they were offering for the build. I knew I wanted to build as modern as possible but with a reasonable price that wasn't way high. I had many nice finishing's in mind that I knew might cost more but wanted to differentiate mine from all the other run of the mill ADU builds out there. Nadia, the architect gave me a simple and modern design and was always quick to help make any changes along the way before getting the plans approved. Delphine did as much as she could to advise me on the interior finishing but left most main design decisions up to me as I have a particular taste. I would also like to mention Shai for working hard to make sure he could answer all my questions and concerns along the way, he works very hard and is a busy person handling multiple projects. I'm a believer that building faster isn't necessarily better, as I was particular on details along the way to make sure certain things turned out the way I intended. I learned a lot during the entire process and building a ADU is a long process that you need to be patient for. Good things take time and shouldn't be rushed.
