They explained that due to our vaulted ceilings, there would likely be some drywall cutting but they would do their best to avoid it. We had 2 bedrooms on the same 15A circuit breaker, and since one bedroom is now used as an office and the other is used as an exercise room, with treadmill, the circuit breaker was constantly getting tripped. Mike and his team were able to find the one outlet that fed from the first bedroom to the second, separate the rooms, run a new power line to the second bedroom, install a new circuit breaker, and get the 2 bedrooms on 2 separate circuits. This is working perfectly now, and we're now able to run the treadmill without tripping the breaker! What surprised me the most was they were able to do all of this with zero remaining drywall, patching, painting, or cleanup work required. It turned out beautifully. Updated review: we discussed things and they're going to make it right. Back to five-stars for great customer service. I'll be using them in the future for any electrical work. Mistakes happen, it's how they get resolved that is the mark of a superior company. But also, ask for the better receptacle. Pay more for it (it IS more expensive than the basic Leviton outlet). If you're curious about why, one, there's the picture attached to this review, and two, search for "Tesla Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide" and learn far, far more than you ever wanted to know about them. Original review: Still like their inside work where they installed a nice quiet Panasonic DC bathroom fan, but their work in installing a NEMA 14-50R for my EVSE was a little questionable: 1. They used a metal 4x4 box for the outlet, which is fine, but they didn't ground it? I know they used plastic flexi-conduit in between but shouldn't metal boxes be grounded? 2. They used a cheap Leviton 14-50R. It hasn't stood up to the loads imposed by my EVSE very well and the outlet shows clear signs of thermal stress (discoloration, softening?). I replaced it with a Hubbell 14-50R. If you want to go with these guys for an EVSE outlet, insist on a higher grade receptacle (Bryant or Hubbell) read more

tldr: I would use them again. I found Matt incredibly professional and responsive. -------- We were having an issue with our main panel and one of our outlets, so I reached out to Voltz through Yelp based on the positive reviews. They were available the following morning (Friday), but we couldn't do it then. Fortunately, they were also available on Monday at 8 am. Mike arrived on time (with another person, but I can't remember his name. Carlos?) to do a diagnostic. The quoted price was $250 and if the job was larger, they would apply 1/2 of that to the work if we chose to have it completed by them. Unsurprisingly, we had an issue and needed a new panel. (We had suspected this since it was making noise and our house is really old.) Mike said the job would entail 5-6 hours and a crew of three people. The quoted price was $3500. They were available the following day (Tuesday) at 8 am. (WHAT? To be honest, I was pretty surprised. I hear about some businesses where you have to wait.) Yay! Tuesday at 8 am, no one came and no one called. (OH NO!) I waited about 20 minutes, but I was worried. You hear about some companies just not showing. I messaged Matt and he called back maybe within 5 minutes? He apologized and said Mike was on his way, was getting the parts, and should be there within 20 minutes. And they did arrive within 20 minutes and got started. Mike and two others came. I appreciated it was Mike again. I like it when the person who comes to do a diagnostic returns to do the job. I had to leave, but my husband was home. He said they took about 5-6 hours and it all seemed to be working fine. A day or two later, I tried using the dishwasher and it still didn't work. I contacted Matt and asked if that wasn't included. He said it did and sent a team out to fix the outlet. It worked when they left and then didn't work again. I contacted Matt, so he sent a different team back out. This team, according to my husband, seemed more experienced and troubleshooted more to find out the outlet is working, but it is the dishwasher that was having the issue. I provide all the info because I think some people might be upset with the "tardiness" of the Tuesday arrival or the outlet not working after a team left, but these things happen. I think if they had called on Tuesday to say they were late, this would have been a perfect job. That being said, they still deserve 5 stars. Matt really does care about customer service and Mike and his team did a great job putting our new panel in, making it safe! :). They came over with two vans carrying a couple of very tall ladders of various types, and a team of 4 people. I honestly expected only one van and one person to come. So, I was very pleased with the amount of effort they put for my small project. The prices charged were very reasonable. We appreciated that they were very careful and thorough with their installation (making sure that it was done properly and looked proper before completion). In conclusion, they were very professional and sincere in their effort, for a reasonable price. I've used Voltz in the past for several perfectly-executed projects, inside and outside. But today, Matt and his team went above and beyond. We're having some interior work done on our home, and somehow an electrical box got jiggled, which caused an entire circuit in my family room (about 7 outlets and some lights) to surge from 110 to 220 volts. Boom, out goes my internet router and a mesh wi-fi node. I have no idea how that happened, nor did my "surge protector". I called Matt at Voltz and he immediately knew what had happened, and was able to send Ruben (an ace electrician) who was there in less than 30 minutes. Diagnosed and corrected the problem in about the same amount of time. Not only corrected the wiring in the electrical box but meticulously checked each of the outlets to make sure they were delivering the proper voltage. And checked all the light fixtures on the circuit to make sure they all worked. And they did, perfectly. After slightly over an hour from first noticing the problem, I was back in business (well, I still had to replace the fried router and WiFi node, but that's to be expected). Five stars is not enough praise for the excellent responsiveness and quality of work provided by Voltz. They have been, and will continue to be my first call for any electrical needs. Voltz is very responsive. I loved that I was able to discuss and schedule the work over txt messages. We needed them to come in and put in new light fixtures, add dimmers and fix a few plug points. They did the shopping with minimal guidance and choose visually pleasing fixtures. They also were honest about what was worth fixing and what was not. Voltz electric just left my house. Normally, I only review restaurants on Yelp, but couldn't help leaving a review here. They came out today and fixed my electrical outlet issue in two hours. I already had two electricians (one electrician was sent by the home warranty company, another we called) come by my house to fix the issue, both left without fixing it and I was charged a fee without operating outlets. I must admit that the rate for voltz is definitely on the pricey end (as noted by other reviewers), but the timeliness and quality of work is unparalleled to other companies and worth the extra $. It can make you feel hesitant when you're quoted for time and materials without knowing what the max damage is, but voltz is a fair and honest company. & personal advice: don't skimp because electric safety should be your priority! Also if you have a project, book voltz early as they are booked out weeks in advance (that's how good they are!) Thanks to Matt and his crew! I don't have enough words to express how wonderful Matt, the owner, and his employees are. They do great work, are honest and reliable. But aside from that, they are caring people. I've used them for 7 years now, in different jobs at different houses. My dad is bedridden and I had bought him a Smart TV for his bedroom at his house. I called to have Voltz install an electrical outlet and coaxial cable line in my parent's bedroom. After the TV was mounted on the wall and all the work done, my dad was upset because he couldn't figure out how to configure the TV and operate the remote. They helped him get it set up but the volume still wasn't working but they needed to leave for another job. Matt called later to ask if the TV volume was working and said one of his guys, Reuben, was concerned that they hadn't been able to figure out the volume control and he was worried about my dad.
