Said she would charge me for her time of 5 minutes after making me wait an hour. Nasty doctor, zero bedside manner, obnoxious and unequivacally the worst experience ever. I picked Dr. Minnerop pretty much at random off a list of in-network providers close to my apartment. After my terrible experience with her, I'm probably not going to be able to muster up the courage to go back to a doctor for a loooong time. It was so bad, I don't even know where to start. In a nutshell: 1) Both times I saw her, I arrived at my scheduled time and ended up having to wait several hours in a packed waiting room. 2) She had terrible bedside manner. First, after doing an EEG and hearing the benign heart murmur I've had since childhood and which no doctor has ever been concerned about, she visibly freaked out and told me she thought I had rheumatic fever (which is a serious chronic heart condition that doesn't really exist anymore outside of the third world). I went to a specialist and there was absolutely nothing wrong with my heart. They couldn't believe that the doctor even thought of rheumatic fever. Dr. Minnerop never bothered to get back to me with these results, but luckily the cardiologist had the decency to return my calls and put my mind at ease. 3) She also referred me for a mammogram because she felt a little lumpiness in my breasts (which is totally normal for young women), and because my mother had cancer in her 60s (which according to every other doctor I have spoken to, does not increase my odds of breast cancer at all, as we're negative for the breast cancer gene and there's no family history of pre-menopausal cancer). But, anyway, I totally get being cautious. The thing that pissed me off is that after I went to a specialist and was told that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my breasts and that I did not need to have another mammogram or ultrasound until I was 40, Dr. Minnerop told me that she would like me to come back every 3 months for her to "monitor my condition." Why the heck would a general practitioner with no specialized breast cancer knowledge or examination equipment need to monitor someone who has nothing wrong, when the specialist did not recommend any follow up? Um, sounds again like Dr. M is trying to keep the revenue stream flowing, no? 4) When I came in to get my lab results, she told me everything was fine and tried to dismiss me after 5 minutes. I noticed myself that my cholesterol seemed a little high (even though it was within normal limits) and asked her about it. Once I mentioned this, she tried to prescribe me medication and told me that my heart had probably already been irrevocably damaged. Never mind that I'd already had a full battery of heart tests which came back fine and that she wasn't even going to mention the cholesterol until I brought it up. I asked about dietary changes like eating more "good fats" but she said she'd never heard of any connection between diet and cholesterol and that pharmaceutical treatment was the only answer. Yes, I know this is a little of a rant, but I just had to get it out of my system. She is the epitome of why I tend to avoid doctors and I just feel sorry for all of her long time patients who put up with wasting whole days waiting for follow-up appointments for non existant health conditions. Please.

She has a sincere heart felt…read moreconcern for her patients, and she provides old school genuine care in a world where healthcare marketing, and fear of malpractice suits has made honest doctors virtually extinct. She is a highly cultivated and capable doctor. However, her waiting room scene is often out of hand. Average wait time to see her is 1-3 hours. She usually fits me in but I think Dr. Minnerop perhaps sees too many patients, and is at times a perfectionist. The difference being that Dr. Minnerop genuinely cares about her patients, and that is why she does things that way whereas many doctors today make you repeat tests etc. because of the system. I was recovering from spinal surgery to correct a deformity in my lumbar spine that, it seemed, was the main contributor to chronic and crippling hip & leg pain. Although my surgery was successful, flawless, and healing beautifully, the pain in my hip and leg was worse than ever.  During my first visit with Dr. Tatz, I could barely speak as I was in so much pain and so terrified that I would forever be in so much pain. (Fortunately, that worked out well as he doesn't need many words to practice his gift.) He would ask me the occasional question, requiring no more than a four-word response. One of those questions was: "how long did you do Pilates?" That's when I knew this man was in a category of his own - I had not mentioned in conversation or anywhere on my intake form that I had been a Pilates teacher for 20 years (though haven't practiced consistently for more than 10 years), and yet, he could see/hear/feel it in my musculature - without any words from me.  My healing has been slow, the "three steps forward, two steps back" kind of slow, but I am finally feeling like I am really truly healing thanks to consistently working with Dr. Tatz. I'm reminded in our work together how complex the body is, how everything in the body is interconnected, and that there are no absolute "rules" about pain or healing. In addition to his hands-on work (nearly every session he finds something new that needs attention), he is also teaching me how to actively participate in my own healing. I look forward to every session, I'm grateful for how far I've come, and I'm excited to see how far I can go with his help and guidance.

The office manager refused to speak with me, the clerk wouldn't even give me her name, and they claimed they don't use email or fax--even for medical records. Last year, a colonoscopy didn't reveal the source of severe abdominal pain, so she told me to "go to the ER." No further instruction, so I insisted on an official note from her. A CT scan revealed diverticulitis, easily treatable with antibiotics and antispasmodics. Recently, I've suffered WEEKS of paralyzing cramping and diaherrea, leaving me fatigued, dehydrated and unable to go out. The tests came back negative for parasites, etc. She literally waved her hand dismissively and said it's all "in your head," and that I was "too anxious." I was stunned to hear this from a medical doctor who's not, let's say, a shrink. Now I have to find a new gastro doc, and you should, too!

I cancelled my appointment 21 hours in advance and was again rudely told that I would be charged $150 because I missed their 24 hour cancellation period. I got the bill and discovered that I was also charged a $20 copay. I asked for a recommendation for a dermatologist and was given the name of a surly unhelpful dermatologist I had been to once 10 years ago. There was nothing about this experience that was positive.

I love hearing her explain her thinking and the relationships between conditions, allergies, lifestyle, etc. I think the reason she's not for everyone is in how you look at medical care. If you want someone to simply treat one ailment and leave it at that or blindly send you for tests you think you need then I suggest you go to an urgent care clinic. Dr Glass is holistic in her approach and she treats the whole patient, always searching for root causes, preventative care and ways to make you feel better, overall. She has referred me to specialists but also told me if they were out of network or I found someone I preferred that was fine too. I don't believe she did it for the referral bonus at all, in fact, many times she has suggested I try natural and over the counter treatments before going to a specialist.
