First, I'd like to emphasize that his support staff is wonderful. I cannot fault his support staff…read morefor why I am writing a one star review. There's a certain stereotype that chiropractors are quacks. Dan Geck lives up to this stereotype. When he just focuses on being a chiropractor; he is OK. The problem is that he doesn't want to just be your chiropractor, he wants to replace your doctor. Well if your doctor believed everything that he read on the Internet, he'd be your doctor. Initially he'll focus on adjustments but then the real sales pitch starts. First, he'll suggest you get blood work done for nutrition. I didn't ever get this done but in his waiting room I saw a general trend among anyone that started nutrition treatments with him. First, they all had some type of thyroid problem. Second, they all apparently "needed" 75 to 125 dollars worth of nutritional supplements a month. On a few occasions it was clear that his nutritional patients were sacrificing essentials to pay for these "medicine". Finally, several of these patients would eventually be pushed to stop taking medications (such as heart medications). At one point, he attempted to suggest that I may have a food allergy because he was waving a bottle over a muscle and it was "weak". I think he forgot that practices like Applied Kinesiology only work if both parties believe it will. The last straw was that he basically told me that I would not "get better" if I didn't open my mind up to alternative treatments. The latest and greatest trend he was excited about at that moment was using lasers to "correct DNA". He handed me a laughable printout that contained such statements like "Traumas change your DNA" and "Faulty DNA can be corrected through laser treatment". The only factual statement was that the device was FDA certified (for acute pain that may occur in dental treatment). Now if you believe that vaccinations cause autism, high school biology classes were lying to you and people can be "allergic" to electromagnetic waves; he's your guy. Just a warning, if his office gets your contact information; they won't honor your communication preferences. I think the office recently upgraded their management software and it completely lost my preferences to NEVER be contacted again.

The business practices are shady at this Dr.'s office. They…read morewill get you to sign into a huge contract with a lot of extras ahead of time and you never get what you paid for. Be cautious signing a contract. We felt pressured into a contract and lost care and money.

I have to agree that this is a ROCKIN alternative medicine store…read more They not only carry nearly everything you could want or need for natural healing, but they are also very informed and helpful. Great Essential oil selection. You can buy it by the bottle or by the drop. (a little goes a long way) Lots of homeopathics. LOTS! They had tons of supplies for midwives and doulas. Plenty of kids stuff too. I'm so glad I found this little gem. BTW...It's tucked in DEEP off the road. I passed it twice but they talked me in on the phone.

I took a class with one of the owners, Beth, when I was pregnant. When I visited her store, I was…read moreamazed at the selection they have for natural parenting. They have breast pumps and comfortable breastfeeding bras, holistic supplies, and books. They also offer classes such as Vegetarian and Pregnant, Baby Sign Language, Infant Massage, Vaginal Birth After Cesaerian, and many more. They are very supportive of mothers who will homebirth or who have homebirthed babies. I feel it is important to say this because I think sometimes there is a stigma attached to women who choose natural childbirth at home. I especially love their breastfeeding room where they have a breastfeeding group that meets regularly. Everyone who works there is incredibly helpful, especially Beth. I was concerned about post partum depression, and she took me aside and helped me with finding resources. She spent a lot of time one on one with me so I could talk about my concerns. One cool thing is that Beth helped formulate a holistic remedy just for me. It helps calm me if I am feeling panicky. Whether it is a placebo or not, all I know is that it works!

Finally a high level acupuncturist here in Ann Arbor!!! I've been searching for an acupuncturist…read morefor the last couple of years after discovering the benefits when I was visiting California. Out there in the bay area there are so many gifted practitioners but here in Ann Arbor, I had tried all of the locals and found none of quality. Simon is very knowledgeable and has a kindness about him that makes you comfortable during the visit. The office is a Little place tucked next to the UM bank on Jackson Road, blink and you missed it. But once you step inside and start the interaction and you quickly realize how educated and knowledgeable Dr. Xue is! I've already booked a follow up appointment because this guy is THAT good, I knew even before leaving the treatment was so so effective!! If you've been thinking about giving Accupuncture a try this is your guy.

I've had nerve damage in my neck for years, which has affected my shoulder and back. My go to…read moretreatment were either through chiropractic treatments or massages. I literally could hear loose things in my neck, my shoulder would snap when lifting and I'd often wake up with kinks in my neck. After visiting Dr. Fu twice for this problem, I'm about 90% back to normal. There are no loose things in my neck, no more shoulder pops and no more morning neck. It's friggin amazing! Disclaimer: during these sessions I took supplements to help with immflamation so it might be a combination of both. Here's the real gem. While laying still with needles and suction cups (he does cupping too) on my back, he taught me that acupuncture is about releasing jammed up energy, "chi", to promote self healing. We talked about the pros and cons of Eastern medicine vs Western medicine. We even talked about meditation and how that practice plays into ones overall health. Not only does my body feel better, I have more knowledge about how to take better care of my body.
