If they didn't know what the total cost would be at the time that I called in to check prior to the appointment due to me being out of network, they should have at least told me that, rather than telling me my total cost is some untruthful $ amount. Their front desk is also rude and needs to be micro-managed by patients for anything to get done, such as transferring medical records from my previous doctor. Nidia constantly called me "honey" in a condescending, sarcastic tone in my communications with her. I have seen a number of other dermatologists in the past and have never felt this level of distrust or disrespect with a practice before. I miss my former dermatologist who recently retired. I'm going to switch to telehealth for my dermatology needs. The pricing is much more upfront and clear. I can have a video call with the dermatologist or send them photos of my condition to receive a bespoke diagnosis, just like in-person visits. I can also still communicate with the dermatologist for up to 1-2 weeks after my appointment via chat which is great. I don't work in telehealth and I usually don't promote things. I'm just tired of dealing with unclear costs and an unhelpful front desk.
