My husband buys me chocolate here every year for the past 14 years . This year however, mostly all the strawberries were bad . I wrote a complaint because these are the best chocolate strawberries I've ever had and I've never ever had an issue . The manager was very nice , sent me an email promptly and replaced the chocolates . I think that one box happened to be a fluke because the box my husband picked up were all top quality again. I made the mistake of thinking Hanna Krause in Paramus was the same as this place. It was many moons ago but the chocolate is completely different. Paramus store chocolate sucks! Plus the prices are outrageous. I paid 76$ for 12 chocolate covered strawberries. They are very slick. They charge by the ounce so what they do is they make the chocolate on the strawberries SUPER thick. This is to rob you blind and it totally make the strawberries undesirable. Now Krause's in Paterson has very fair prices and much higher quality chocolate. 2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries was 59$. I don't get them but the customer in front of me did. I have purchased them in the past and they were perfect. The staff is much friendlier at this location as well. The only reason I went to the Paramus store was that there was a ton of traffic and I was closer to the Paramus store. HUGE MISTAKE! read more

Over the past ten years or so Krause's has seen a bit of decline overall with the counter people leading the way. At the premium prices you pay here, unacceptable and not a isolated event. That said, the dark chocolate bark with walnuts is superb as are many of the chocolate dipped fruits and nuts that may be available. The key is to get them nice and fresh, so now I ask "these made fresh today?" If I had to describe to you what heaven smelled like, I think I would point you to this place. I've probably passed by this place hundreds of times in my life but finally decided to go in. So glad I did! They have any and every variety of chocolate that you would ever want and even those that you didn't know you wanted. The chocolate-covered strawberries are out of the world! The chocolate is thick and creamy while the strawberries are fresh and juicy. I'm not sure where they get these strawberries, especially during off-season, but they're amazing! These are priced by the pound and while they're a bit pricey (I think it's $22/lb), it's totally worth every penny. I bought 4 strawberries to try and it came out to $10 so I guess that was about half a pound. There's also a huge selection of sugar-free chocolates and candies as well as gift sets for various occasions. Went for chocolate covered strawberries the day before Mother's Day. Asked for two half dozen boxes and have 1 of them wrapped. The cross between Dora the explorer and a hippopotamus said 'they' didn't have time. Meanwhile customers before and after me were getting theirs wrapped by the other workers. I am addicted to this chocolate since I was little. Everything is delicious, but I specially love the chocolate dipped strawberries. They are so fresh.....and the strawberries huge! The chocolates do not leave lard on the roof of my mouth like most commercial chocolates do. The bark is incredible! And so are the creams, my favorite is Maple. The marshmallow squares are addictive. My kids love the crackers, that come in dark and regular. When get a box for my mother in law, she will guard it in her safety box, just so no one will get near them. She says, she takes one out after lunch and just enjoys every little bite slowly. It's not just the Choc strawberries though. They have the best chocolate around. Any kind of chocolate you want, they have. Cordials, truffle, bar etc. their pecan turtles are to die for. They also have a really good diabetic chocolate selection. My grandmother has Diabetes So I buy them For her occasionally and she loves them. Yum! I really love their dark chocolate almond bark. Coconut puffs are great too. My wife says the dark chocolate is too sweet for fans of very dark chocolate. Since we both prefer dark chocolate, we'd rather their selection of (delicious) chocolate skewed more toward dark, rather than milk. Right now looks like it's about 60/40 in favor of milk.
