One star does not do justice for the experience I just had while ordering my food. Sue, who must be an employee of the store since she said Bobby was the manager. She was working with a younger gentleman who she was so incredibly cruel to. She berated him about not remembering orders fast enough, using too much space on the prep station, and taking too long to make the sandwiches mind you it hadn't even been 3 minutes and I ordered 5 foot long sandwiches. Sue also insulted me while I was ordering asking me "who eats like this." When I confronted her about her tone to the worker she said that he is autistic and that he requested her to treat him like this and said she is "usually nicer to him if people are around." The other glowing reviews about the nice staff here clearly never met Sue the bully. read more

Based on the prior reviews I must have caught them on an off (August 20th) day. I ordered the Honey I'M Home sandwich and after a few minutes the young man preparing the sandwiches told me he did not have one of the ingredients. I told it was not a problem and to give me the The Happy Cappy sandwich instead. Again he spent minutes checking the deli case, conferring with a more seasoned employee before advising me they were out of capicola. Once again I told him not a problem, though clearly there was, and to just give me whatever ham they had. My wife and I eventually shared the sandwich on an outside picnic table and both agreed it was too dry and would have been better with an oil/vinegar mixture rather than mustard. read more

LOVE this place!! They quite literally have exactly what I need every single time I go there... celery, chili powder, cream cheese, ravioli, soda, chips, last minute dinner, etc.... they have it all and their food is delish! Their sandwiches are great of course. But their preparaed foods are really better than most local restaurants! The lasanga was a huge it! This is the place to go for quick huge grinders and other lunch specials. Food is always hot and fresh, I have had numerous breakfast sandwiches and lunch specials. On this day I enjoyed an Italian cold cut grinder on a portuguese roll with lettuce, tomato, black olives and mayonnaise. This sandwich was huge, I had to save half for lunch tomorrow. read more

As a poll worker on Tuesday, November 8, I received a beautiful turkey sandwich that was made my Krauszer's. It was so good that my wife and I went back on Friday to get our dinner for Friday night. I had a meatball grinder/sub and my wife had a turkey wrap. Both were outstanding! Beside that, we also bought sliced roast beef and turkey. Great! I've only ever had one sandwich from here (my last good meal before I went to the hospital to deliver my daughter!) so that's why I can't give a full 5 stars. My husband has gotten food from here many times after work/on a lunch break and he raves about the mayo - and on that alone I think he'd give 10 stars LOL. He finally got me to try one before we went to the hospital and the food was as delicious as he said! The deli meat was fresh and tasty (and they definitely didn't skimp out on anything!) This Krauszer's has a private parking lot with plenty of parking, it's clean, friendly, and convenient. I love the deli here, the meat is freshly sliced before going on to my sandwich. I don't know of any other delis around here that slice the meat for your sandwich when you order it but I think it's a great practice. The size of the coffee station area here is impressive, there is plenty of room for several people to comfortably make their beverages at the same time. They also make grab-and-go breakfast sandwiches here, that's way better than what you'll get at a fast food coffee shop! You can get all your usual convenience store items here, as well as beer and wine coolers. read more

Great little spot to grab what you need before heading down to the shoreline or chatfield hollow state park. It has all the essentials plus a deli for sandwiches and even a decent selection of beers. The package stores in Durham close at 8 but you can still grab what you need from Krauser's until 9. And Sue is awesome!! read more
