I usually come in for a weave every now and then. This time I decided to do a whole head protective style and try a full lace wig. I have never worn a wig of any kind, so I was TOTALLY lost: cap or no cap? Keep the combs or cut them out? Glue it down, sew it down, or both? CHILE! Faye and Joyce walked me through it and Faye did an amazing job. But y'all. A stylist called out sick. The Friday before CHRISTMAS. And they did NOT turn anyone away. I went to Weave Krave in November last year to get my hair done for my wedding. Did my hair turn out gorgeous... Yes! With that said I was not pleased about the day of my appointment. I waited for an hour outside before the manager showed up to let me in, and another hour for my hair stylist to show up. The owner was very friendly, apologetic, and professional about the whole situation. She even gave me a $25 discount for the time I had waited. They owner did have someone start on my hair prior to the arrival of my stylist to start with the braids. Unfortunately, the braids ended up being too tight, and I had to take my weave out the night of the wedding due to bumps around my temple. I would go back to get my hair done since the actual weave did come out nice, but I would want the whole process done by one stylist. I feel if she had of done my braids that I wouldn't have had the issue with the bumps. read more

Today I finally had my first experience at Weave Krave and it was one of the most pleasant experiences when getting my hair done. All of the staff and stylists were very personable, professional, and attentive. First when I called the receptionist was so professional we laughed because I asked if she was a real person because I thought she was the answering machine lol. I was able to have my inquiries clarified & she was very patient with me. I eventually set up an appointment for today. Note: you have to put down at least $25 to set an appointment which works great for me. They also sell hair, but I already had hair, I'll try their hair next time or even one of their wigs. There were 3 ladies in total getting their hair done by 3 different stylists and they worked as a team to ensure all of us were taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. I was offered tea or coffee while services were being rendered and they would also inquire if I was comfortable. We had the normal hair salon chats, but it was again pleasant and relaxing. My briader (T.T. I believe it was) was sweet & had just really gotten her grove in a new corn rolling technique, but I was cool when I found that out it didn't matter because my braids were ultra flat. Faye & another stylist (I'm sorry Yelpers I didn't get the other stylists name) sewed in my hair & it was flat (no lumps, no bumps). Faye confirmed that I was happy with my install (the Fierce) which I really appreciated. My overall review: I'm going to go ahead & say it...They are the Weave Express killer. Smaller staff & they do not claim to be an "express" location, but it they did mine in 4 hours which is what I remember being the wait time at WEX. When you go to Weave Krave you have to look at this location as a completely different establishment than WEX because they have 2 different concepts, but if you want good service, professionalism, & a really good install...try out Faye's spot. Rita did a half sew-in for me. I'm typically a wig person because I don't like the scalp tension that comes along with sew ins. She did a great job of making it tight but not unbearable and I didn't even have to ask. She is very funny and friendly. The salon is beautiful and clean, and everyone was very professional and kind. I walked inside with a DIY u part wig that was a hot mess. I spoke with Faye who gave me some options. I decided to go with a partial sew in. She fit me in the next morning at 9am I was greeted by friendly staff and fresh coffee and donuts. Faye braided my hair so flat with no bumps. And sewed my "salvaged" tracks to perfection. She is a true perfectionist and was not done until she felt it was perfect, which it was. This is the best install I've ever had. I will definitely be back!! I found Weave Krave and decided to give them a try. I was greeted by Faye when I entered and she quickly took my information (what I wanted done) and got me started. Rita the other stylist was fast and efficient as she braided my hair down. I'll wrap this review up to say Faye did an AWESOME job on my hair; this is definitely her craft! I was out of there in about three hours.....maybe less. You simply cannot beat the price and professionalism of Weave Krave. You could pay $300-$400 for a full sew-in, but why?? She was so attentive and answered my NUMEROUS questions. I was sooo nervous and reluctant. After months passed, I finally put on my big girl panties and walked in . Joyce has not changed at all. She is still thorough and engaged with the clients At the recommendation of Joyce, I selected the I'm Fabulous. The base price was $75. I then wanted a bang cut which took it up to $85 . My stylist was Rita. I knew what to expect due to Joyce. Rita was so sweet and understanding of me being nervous. I felt very comfortable with her and her knowledge of what would work for me. I'm suffering from EXTREME hair loss after my sew-in that I took out after 2 weeks. I called the salon to ask for help in this situation, and Joy answered. She basically asked why I was calling once I explained my symptoms and experience. She then said she would contact the lead hair stylist to let me know how they can be of assistance, and get back to me before close. She never called back. I was so distraught from my terrible experience at Unique Hair Salon that I didn't want anyone to touch my hair. not only did she fix the mess they created she SLAYED my sew in. I showed the owner what style I wanted. She was coaching the stylist all the way through my process. Needless to say I am thoroughly disappointed and upset with the outcome. It is not what I asked for. The owner kept making excuses for why it turned out that. I way. When I got home, I realize that the stylist had cut the weave out of the bottom cornrows. This place turned out to be a disappointment. They earned one star because of customer service and price. I walked in and was greeted immediately which was nice. Although I did my research beforehand and knew what I wanted when I walked in, I let the nice woman go through her spiel and tell me about their packages. I went with the the I'm flawless which is basically a full sew-in. Everything started very nicely. My stylist braided quickly and provided nice service, however she did not know how to sew in my closure. They had another stylist sew in my closure. My issue is when working with a free-part closure, you need to part it, pluck it, and lay it down so it doesn't look like a wig! Anyone that gets a full sew-in will have a closure or frontal. I don't understand how you can advertise your shop as a weave one stop shop but no one knows how to work with a closure. She sewed the closure down, it did not feel secure. I spoke my mind and advised her of this and she proceeded to do what she should have done the first time...sew it securely! Then the stylist said well I can't do too much more because my boss does the closures and she isn't here today...ummm excuse me? Why didn't you tell me that to begin with??? You cannot take yourself seriously and call your establishment a weave shop when your stylists don't know how to properly install a closure which is the most important part of a sew in. Needless to say I won't be returning. Apart from the customer service they are as bad as Weave Express. Unless you are getting a partial, save your coins ladies and go elsewhere. read more

Place is small but bright. I came in there to get some information and possible appointment but I got a business call right before walking into the office. I let them know that I had a call and I will get to them in just a moment.. the call took longer than expected and after about 10 minutes I was basically told to either get off the phone and get checked in or to get my questions answered or I had to leave the store as this area for customers only. I proceeded to leave and went two doors down and made an appointment to get my hair braided at the spot next to door. I felt that that was very rude and not customer service when I kept saying I'll be with you in a minute, it was a business call. I told them i didn't know if i was getting services yet, and they interrupted my call twice. it wasn't like I was rushing them to stop doing what they was doing.
