First time here. My appointment was at 10 am. The time on the door said they open at 10. I got here at 9:58. The receptionist opened door at 10:31! I came in and receptionist asked if she could help me. Told her i was her for my 10 am appointment with my hairdresser (who by the way had also been waiting to get in). Quick update: I FINALLY HAD MY NAILS DID!! So, I went to Krave to get a mani/pedi. I had never had a pedi before and only a few mani's in my life because, well, I'm sort of a tom-boy. Anyhoo, I went in and met Lana. She was awesome!!!! She made me feel very comfortable about my pedi and I felt as if I had knew her for years. I chose the shellac option and am soooo, sooooo happy. Yes, it was more expensive but it is worth it. Firstly, both my fingers and toes look wicked cool. Secondly, the shellac polish last 2-3 weeks. I doubted this 2-3 week time line so hardcore but I am typing this review with perfectly coiffed nails and it has been exactly 2 weeks since my mani. My toes still look great too. I guess that's it. This was my first time going here. I had a mani/pedi with Jen. She was great. I have psoriasis under my toe nails so they r very sensitive ( plus I'm ticklish) she was gentle even tho it wasn't easy for her because it was painful ( no fault of hers) and for the first time in along time they look very good. I love them and the pressure from them being thick is gone. She did an amazing job ! My nails look fantastic also. I'm EXTREMLY happy with my visit and with her. I will be going back !! read more

DONT DO IT! My hair is totally awful, color all messed up. And when I went back to fix it.. owner LISA tried to tell me I had to pay to have their mistake corrected, that it was my fault and that I HEARD EVERYTHING WRONG! And that they "do not offer refunds at this salon" so I was unable to go somewhere else to have this disaster corrected, and feel comfortable in an already awkward situation. In the end.. I didn't have to pay for them to "correct" the spots she thought looked bad.. but he main concern was using as little product as possible since I wasn't paying.. and nothing to actually do with my horrible hair. While the correction made it tolerable to even look at.. I can not wear my long hair down, and will be in a hat all summer now because of this. I went here for a cut and color. I have dyed my hair myself in the past, with success... but I decided to treat myself this time, and just have it done. The hair cut I received was great. Pretty close to exactly what I wanted, and I would recommend them for the hair cut. My hair color turned out NOTHING like what I wanted. I wanted a bright, lipstick red. It was the farthest I could push my color where I work, so I wanted it to pop. It turned out that dark, maroon brownish color. My hair was light brown, with a slight reddish tint to it naturally... so It was not because it was dark. I have gotten way brighter colors out of my hair before. My stylist was nice, and she did a great job with the actual cut. But I did not like the color at all. She assured me "it will lighten up.... but its not even the right shade, so When it does lighten up, it still won't be the color I wanted. read more

Had an appt. 7/25/2017. First time here. I specifically asked if the girl was experienced! They assured me she was. She was very nice. Love the color. The cut on the other hand is not good at all. I have not had a cut this bad in a very very long long time! You do not do a dry cut on naturally curly hair when your client tells you she wears it straight and curly. If you do you should know what you are doing and don't rush through it because your next client has arrived! I expressed the fact that my sons wedding is this weekend! So disappointed in the cut! I have to have it corrected at another salon! Love the color though, but I will not be returning! read more

It has been some time since this happened, a long time in fact because I never planned on making a review for this place for fear that the event I modeled for would get some backlash...but here goes. I participated in a local modeling event for prom dresses, I was 18 at the time (I'm 19 now). The event was partially sponsored by Krave, and so all of the "models" were to have our hair and makeup done by them. I got there early as directed and waited for about an hour due to the fact that a few of the stylists were late, no biggie. The girl who did my hair at the time was told by the modeling coordinator that she wanted my hair down because she liked the length. The stylist seemed to have no recollection of this, simply asking me if I had any ideas in mind (I didn't) because she informed me that she was hung over and didn't feel like doing anything "too intricate". So she separated my hair into 3s, made one chunk a fish tail braid, another chunk a regular braid, and then did some kind of weird hellish basket weaving on the third chunk before finally braiding all three pieces together. The other "model" next to me was shocked and kept giving me looks that told me to run while I could. It wasn't my event so I just shrugged and went with it, despite how awful it looked while the stylist finished her third red bull. I could have lived with the hair, but the makeup was the worst part of this entire process. I still have nightmares about what this woman did to my face. I sat down in the chair, mind you as most teenagers with a YouTube account I know what good makeup looks like. I've been paid to do makeup many times for people in the past, including some prom looks. I'm not trying to brag, I'm just pointing out that I have a pretty decent idea of how to do makeup. My face was never primed, not moisturized, nothing to take care of my skin which I warned was oily dry combination. I asked her casually what makeup palette she was using to which she answered "A professional brand". I mentioned how much I loved makeup, and couldn't wait to see how the look turned out. The woman went on to tell me that she was a professional makeup artist, and that all the products that I "Probably haven't heard of" were only sold to people who took special classes. Gimme a break. She airbrushed my face making any peach fuzz on my face stand on end, and then proceeded to not powder my wet foundation or set it with any kind of spray. She slapped some generic, pale, pink eyeshadow on my lids. The "artist" then complained about how rosy my cheeks were and then proceeded to pack on blush just after covering said rosiness. She caught an attitude when I warned her that I had sensitive eyes, I told her I would have a hard time with mascara and if she wanted I could do it myself so my eyes wouldn't twitch as often (I was scared they would water, which they did) she jammed a mascara brush in my eyes 3 different times which made me jump more. Then to top it off she put some "high end" Claire's lipgloss on my lips. I looked god awful, and come to find out a majority of the other models went home and redid their makeup and hair. A few of the girls tried to help with my hair, and we all had a good laugh about my 1980's blush. Beautiful salon located conveniently near my office. Anyway, the salon is beautiful. Lots of little separate areas for make-up, massage, facials, nails, hair, etc. I went here for a Shellac Mani with Mandy. Huge selection of colors and quick service. Plus, Mandy is super nice and fun to talk to. The owner, Karen, is also awesome and very friendly. There was a little dog running around too which I loved, since I am a huge animal lover. I wished that I could have rated them even lower than a 1. I don't know where to start! They over charge and are very inconsistent with their prices being that they have contract stylists. I am a soon-to-be bride and I am warning any bride, not to go here! No bride deserves the unnecessary stress! They charged me $190.00 for a makeup and hair trial, which I never technically had a hair trial. She tested curling two pieces of my hair and explained other extension methods for my hair since I wear extensions and according to the stylist charged me $40.00. She told me that based on occupying her chair for an hour that she had to charge me. I was no where near an hour sitting in a chair maybe 20 minutes if that! She also charges $170.00 for tape ins extensions. Way too over price and honestly, I haven't received one compliment in comparison to my previous extensions. Also, as one customer has previously stated the vulgar language is appalling. The owners need to take care of their customers and clean up their staff members there. Again, every bride deserves to feel and look their absolute best and don't need any extended stress before their special day! read more

I researched on Facebook and came upon several positive remarks about the stylists and service at Krave. I went to their Facebook page where they offered the function to book an appointment online. I proceeded to book appointments. I received a message about a half hour later via email and was told I needed to call to reschedule due to a conflict. I called the salon and explained to the person whom answered that I had used the online booking to book appointments and the message I received. The woman on the phone proceeded to tell me there was no function on the page to book an appointment. I stated that there is in fact the function and as I was stating this the woman was having a conversation with a person I am assuming that was sitting next to her asking about the web page and such and if they knew about any booking function on FB, again telling me she had no ideal what I was talking about and was quite rude. I stated that was fine just speaking to her and her response had already let me know I did not need to proceed with an appointment. She stated that is fine can I get your name so I can let the stylist know that you are cancelled so they are not waiting or inconvenienced. I reiterated that I did not in fact have an appointment according to the message and if they did not have online booking no stylist would be inconvenienced. She was very rude quite flippant and I asked whom I was speaking to and she stated Angela and she was the salon manager. I stated she had a terrible attitude to which she replied yes I do have a terrible attitude and am having a bad day and I apologize for taking it out on you but well stuff happens. She kept talking and was continuing to be rude and flippant and I just stated as I was done and would take my business elsewhere. Her last statement was that was fine. Wow! As a side note the FB page does in fact have online booking so one would think as the salon manager you would be aware of this function being in place. I have been going here about 3 years ,I have been growing out my hair since a bad hair cut before .I always loved my hair and I would get my nails done but had to stop for my job .I did get a pedicure a couple times but stopped after a bad toe infection. Back to my hair I have long curly hair or I did with my last "trim" my hair is all layered my curl is gone and my hair is ruined. Maybe I will get my hair back in another 3 years. Everyone charges different prices. I would pay a average $140 each time about every 6 to 8 weeks x 3 years .Thank you for screwing up my hair. Love this place!! The atmosphere is always friendly, even the clientele is friendly. I was a bit wary of going in at first, as the look seemed a bit pretentious, but my sister made the appointment for me and I couldn't believe how wrong I was to be worried. My sister has been going here since it opened. She travels from Howell, that's how great this place is. My wedding party had their hair and makeup done here and everyone came out gorgeous. It was so refreshing to see the stylists little touches and ability to bring out what all of my bridesmaids requested, both hairstyle and makeup wise. I love that they do contact each other in regards to color and that when asked, they actually give an opinion instead of just the standard "whatever you want". I love talking to everyone there and couldn't ask for a better experience every time I go there. The entire staff is great, but I have to give much love to Terri, Toni and Stephanie. Terri is a great stylist, I love that Stephanie comes over and that she and Terri confer on some of the color options. Toni could not be better at make up.
