The first thing the doctor said after checking $200 worth of CT scan and over $50 worth of x-rays is "I don't know." He said that he might do a root canal but first they gotta check with the insurance if they will pay or no. Some days later, I receive a call from the old lady that works at the front desk, talking about money and payment, and when I asked her about a charge that was on my dental insurance, she started acting like she cannot hear me, and from the way she acted, it was obvious that she was making it up. The moment I walked into the dentist, it was obvious that all they cared about was the money, not to treat people because they spoke to me more about money than about my condition, especially the front desk lady. She's very unprofessional and she kicks clients away with her attitude.

Here. Come here. Going to the dentist, any dentist office is terrifying for me. I've grown up with…read moreissues with my oral health and had a horrible root canal experience when I was little so when I heard I needed another root canal, it was daunting. My body genuinely froze in fear and I pleaded with my dentist to find another way. She told me it could not be delayed anymore and offered me a few different referrals. When discovering how much it was going to cost (my dental insurance had been maxed out for the year), I felt even more defeated. I called the offices that my dentist suggested, Dr. Karras being one of the options, as well as a handful of other endodontists. Dr. Karras was on par with most of the endodontists I had called, but I decided to go with him because my dentist was sooooo insistent that Dr. Karras is the BEST for root canals and that is who she trusts as her endodontist. I really did believe my dentist when she said it because she had repeated it so many times but I couldn't help but feel so terrified because of my first root canal experience being so horrible. However, the experience at Dr. Karras's office was fantastic from start to finish. Anda who was the woman I spoke with on the phone was empathetic, direct, and was so helpful when I was asking questions about the service and costs. A lot of other places were clearly annoyed with my questions about cost and a little ambiguous on what the total cost would be but Anda had no problem being direct which put my heart at ease. She was also so kind and understanding when I was telling her I was struggling because of the pain I was in with my tooth but still felt hesitant to pay out of pocket. I felt like the other offices were just a "say you'll pay or just hang up" attitude. The technician I had for the root canal was also amazing. I so wish I remembered her name because she was SO sweet. She was so empathetic and really put her best effort to help calm me down when I was shaking from fear. She asked me questions about my life to distract me, told me about herself, and even offered to hold my hand when I was getting overwhelmed. With an office with such great employees, it's no surprise that Dr. Karras is just as amazing. He seems intimidating at first because he just has a strong presence and is very straight-forward but he clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He was patient with me when I was telling him I was scared and was literally shaking and breathing heavily from fear. He just told me not to worry he was nonchalant but not in a passive or arrogant way at all. It was just confirming that he was an expert and to trust him. I have to say, it was pretty painless. Not AT ALL like my first experience. It obviously was a little painful for the numbing shots since the area was highly sensitive but other than that and the intial drilling for the numbing shot for the tooth, it was like like wham bam done. I know my dentist said Dr. Karras was the best but this was even better than my expectations! Root canals are no longer one of my fears in life! Though...I still hope I don't need anymore. I highly commend AND recommend the Karras Endotontist team. I really can't say enough about all of them. I am truly grateful.

However, I've noticed that every single crown done here has ended up needing a root canal. My last crown done here that didn't need one is currently acting up and is going to need one as well. A few years back, Dr. Kase fitted a crown and I remember his hand was very rough - he pulled and pushed on the tooth he was working on very hard and seemed very frustrated while working on it. The tooth was in extreme pain for several days following this. This tooth ended up needing a root canal shortly over a year afterwards and was also suffering from root resorption which I was told is fairly rare and could be caused by trauma to the tooth (which the tooth never had aside from the rough handling during the crown fitting here). I also ran into a massive problem with Delta Dental insurance over them not wanting to cover a root canal done on a crowned tooth done at this office since they already had recently paid for a crown on that same tooth. After fighting with them for months, in the end they refused to cover the root canal. It's hard to tell if the insurance was being unreasonablly difficult and cheap, or they just felt it was a red flag that the same tooth needed to have extensive work done twice within a short period of time (or maybe a combination of both). Either way, the odds of needing root canals shortly after having crowns done are fairly low enough to the point that it is somewhat alarming that every single crown done here needed a root canal in a relatively short period of time afterwards. I simply think that it's only prudent to be weary about this.

Came in as a new patient for Dr. EMILY CHEN, but somehow Dr. SANA BAIG saw me instead. It was not a huge deal to me at all since she gave me some solid advice. Now my main complaint about this place. As new patient, they did Xray first, then Doctor check, then cleaning. The Xray technician was horrible. It took him a total of 25 mins to just to get everything correct. Never had someone took that long to get all the xray necessary. HYGINIEST. I've been going to dentist religiously for quite some time now and I have never, ever had a horrible hyginiest experience ever until I got here. Even working as solo, a lot of hygienist are able to properly do their job and not make a mess on patient's face. 1. Why does hyginiest gotta ask me if im okay every 20s? It was already established that i would raise my left hand if I wanted to stop whatever she was doing. 2. Too much water I might as well bring a soap and shampoo and take a shower. She wasn't attentive of overflowing water in mouth and would say "I was focused on cleaning your teeth".. 3. Why she gotta physically close my mouth after saying close your mouth? People know how suction works.. ‍‍‍ Like hello?? Never had a hyginiest physically close my mouth just to do suction! 4. She didnt Floss under my bridge and she was "teaching" me how to floss. She also left a broken piece of floss in between my teeth and she didnt noticed it until I said redo the part since i feel something stuck in my teeth. 5. Always looking whos walking by like hello focus your eyes on me. That's why you didnt notice if water is leaking out of my mouth. She looks like she's not confident with her work or asking validation if shes doing a good job‍‍ 6. Xray tech took forever to do xray smh. Do better. Are you even supposed to use your hand to prop the device? This guy really placing his hand in radiation zone.
