Had a wonderful experience with Dr Christian this morning, he was so kind to me helping me with an unusual problem: I already got the all-on-four implants done in Mexico years ago because i have juvenile periodontitis, some of the screws popped off right before a bunch of my important work meetings and i couldn't talk, eat or clean properly bc of those wobbly teeth Dr Christian was able to schedule with me with only 2 days notice , and fixed everything although i know it could be confusing as the work was done by another doctor using different screws, wrenches. Went with Dr Cristian to have my wisdom tooth extraction today, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The doctor was incredibly kind, patient, and very clear when explaining the entire procedure. He made sure I understood every step and constantly checked on my comfort, which helped me feel calm and safe. His assistant Manuel was also amazing, gentle, attentive, and supportive the whole time. While flossing, the side of one of my molars broke off and having just moved here, I did not have a dentist yet. To make matters worse, I was in the middle of my chemo treatments and my Dr would not let my treatments resume until the was sealed from infection. I got recommendations from friends and couldn't get in for weeks or days and I needed treatment now. So, I went to Yelp. The reviews for Smile First were all great and it was close to my home. I gave them a call and they were so friendly and helpful. They got me in the same day! The office is beautiful with calming colors and a lovely water feature behind the reception desk. The staff was great to work with and Dr Pavel was very compassionate about my circumstances. And now I have a new dentist. Thanks Yelp! read more

Update: I changed my primary dentist to Dr Pavel and have been here for multiple cleanings (and fillings, unfortunately) in the last couple of years. I love this dentist office and recommend it to anyone in the area! I have had sensitive teeth/gum to coldness for years on the top left part of my mouth. I've had it for so long that sometimes I forget about it because I'm so used to avoiding cold food/drinks or being careful about it reaching that part of my mouth to avoid the pain. I mentioned it to Dr Pavel and he checked my bite, diagnosing it right away as "bruising" from my teeth being misaligned and stressing my gums every time I bite down. Even though I was not scheduled for it, he shaved a bit of my tooth on the spot so that my bite was corrected and after a few weeks, I began noticing that my gums are no longer sensitive to coldness! I am so thankful I found this dental office :) read more

I was in search of a dentist and decided to use yelp to find a dentist because of reviews and a great location to my home. The office was clean. The staff was very professional and they really explained the break down of the bill and what insurance will cover. I went in for a teeth cleaning and Dr. Christian Pavel left tartar on the inside of my bottom front tooth which was very noticeable. I probably won't be back.. it's hard to find a good dentist but I recently went to another dentist in Elmwood park which did a terrific job on cleaning my teeth today.. He looked at my tartar & said someone left this here? I definitely was embarrassed to tell him I had my teeth cleaned last oct 2019. I feel that they really push for a deep cleaning more than an actual standard cleaning. If you didn't do a good job with a basic cleaning why would I come back for a deep cleaning.. This family owned and operated practice is absolutely wonderful! Not only is Dr. Pavel extremely talented and an expert in his field, but he is one of the nicest people I have ever met. The entire staff at this luxurious office is very warm and friendly. They make you feel right at home as if you're their only patient. I've heard of many dentists that seem to rush through the appointments without taking the time to provide explanations or even catch up on a personal level. In just one visit to Smile First, I learned more about dental hygiene than I thought existed, and I got the most thorough cleaning ever! Visited Dr. Cristian last January after having not been to a dentist in longer than I'd care to share. Needless to say, I required a lot of work to be done. Service here is excellent in every way. You get all types of experience, the traditional and the modern. Both doctors and the endodontist are excellent. I just had my crown printed on a 3D printer in 20 minutes. Pretty impressive. They office works great with papers, appointments, reminders and the atmosphere is really stylish. This is hands-down the best dental office I have ever been to. I could not be more satisfied with the visit and procedures that I received today. I was extremely comfortable with all of the staff and felt no physical pain. I was able to get an appointment rather quickly too! My bill was a fraction of what I was quoted by another dentist in Bucktown. I have never been so satisfied by my dentist as I am here! I love Dr. Pavel's work and office they are so friendly and clean and such a nice upscale looking office. Christina and Claudia are great at the front desk and Dr. Pavels assistant she is awsome she calms me down and gets me ready to get the work done I'm a big baby :) his work and hands are like magic no pain and fast!!
