I could no longer exercise or perform household tasks. I went to an ortho surgeon, who prescribed 18 PT sessions to strengthen my back/abdomen. The PT released me from therapy because I did not have a lack of strength in my back/abdomen and that my pain must come from elsewhere. So, I went to see a chiropractor and after adjustments, he told me a story. His wife had suffered from chronic back pain. As a doctor himself, he had done research and came across a pain management doctor in the area. He sent his wife to that doctor and after several treatments, she was pain free and had remained pain free to that date. That is how I came to meet Dr. Munir. I made an appointment at Southwest Ohio Pain Institute (SWOPI) and by this time, I was waking up around 3:00 AM in such pain that I could not fall back asleep. I had sleep deprivation and passed out during my first appointment. His staff was excellent and I felt like I was in the right place. This doctor was going to help me. Dr. Munir completed a physical exam and asked questions to understand what triggers the onset of my pain. After a series of evaluations, he informed me that he did not believe it was an issue with my spine, but rather an issue with muscle spasms pulling at my spine, resulting in both muscle & structural pain. Dr. Munir outlined a program, which included steroid shots, a low dose muscle relaxer and a series of stretches to be performed multiple times a day that would target underlying muscles not often reached through traditional stretching. After a few days of following his program, I experienced my first good night of sleep in close to a year. After about a month, I was experiencing about 50% relief, but I wanted to shoot for the stars and get back to my active lifestyle. Dr. Munir suggested adding red light therapy to my program. His studies had shown that when used in conjunction with steroid injections, the red light therapy (performed twice a week for 8 weeks) would add additional pain relief. And he was right, it did. Not 100%, but by that point my pain relief was about 85%. It was well worth the time and the investment. Again, not one to give up or settle for anything less than 100%, I tasked him with finding that additional 15% of pain relief that would allow me to sleep each and every night, perform household tasks and get back to exercising. Dr. Munir suggested radio frequency ablation (RFA) and thus we started on the evaluation process to determine where most of the pain stemmed from. We decided to treat my left side first - it was a rather simple 20 minute procedure, local anesthesia, performed in the office. I walked out and soon realized that my pain was gone. It was 100% gone on my left side with about a 95% improvement on my right side as well! I could immediately tell the difference in muscle tightness from my left side to my right side. I came back in a month to see Dr. Munir for treatment on my right side. By then my life had changed dramatically. I had been going to the gym, I had started running again and lifting weights. I was sleeping through the night - every night - and feeling rested in the morning. My physical state had improved and so had my emotional state. I was ecstatic with the results! I couldn't believe that I'd spent a year seeing different doctors (by the way, I also saw a neurologist, a rheumatologist and got a second opinion with another orthopedic surgeon) and Dr. Munir was only 5-minutes from my house. It has been several months now and I am 100% pain free. I am also free to pursue the things in life that bring me joy. Thank you, Dr. Munir, for taking the time to ask me thorough questions and for spending the time to properly evaluate my physical issues and for developing a treatment program that was unique to me. Thank you for sticking with me and for not brushing me off because there wasn't a glaringly obvious reason for the pain.

I remembered from my childhood and accompanying my mom to her visits with Dr. Howell that he has a machine (PulStar) which uses computerized technology for a precise adjustment. After my first visit with him and actually having an adjustment- Yay! I could definitely feel a difference. This is a very busy office but Dr. Howell took time with me to explain different exercises and how to get the most benefits from my visits with him. After spending 5 months recovering from a stress fracture and never fully being pain-free, I…read moredecided it was time to try a new doctor. I couldn't be happier with that decision. My previous doctor would spend no more than 5 minutes with me in the room and was telling me the only way to become truly pain-free was to get custom orthodics that would cost $300 and would need to be replaced each year. Enter Dr. Osborne... I was able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Osborne the same day I called, and he spent over an hour with my at my first appointment, explaining why I was having the pain and what he was going to do to fix me. And while he also recommended orthodics, his last at least 5 years. I'm currently marathon training, so the sooner I could be pain-free the better. Dr. Osborne put in some temporary padding to get me through the 3 weeks prior to the arrival of my orthodics and I couldn't be happier! If you are having any foot problems whatsoever, especially if you are a runner, see Dr. Osborne... you won't be disappointed!

Bob, hands down, is a treasure. Every single time I have needed an immunization, flu shot, or blood drawn, this man has been positive, caring, and gentle. He practices painless precision and as someone who would rather eat glass than get a needle in my arm, I can say he has never been impatient or whoopsied and caused pain. He just gets in. I was recommended to Dr. Metz's office for consultation and allergy testing, I was quickly scheduled. I was immediately greeted when I walked into the office by the receptionist and she efficiently double checked my information and I only had to update one form for them (excellent!). I was called back within 5 minutes, basically enough time to fill out the form - seriously :-) !! My nurse was super nice and explained everything that was going to take place for my appointment. Dr. Metz came in and spent a significant amount of time with me going over my history and finding out what kind of problems I was having. She then explained what the allergy testing would consist of. My nurse came back in, and again took the time to explain the testing and asked if I had any questions before we began. The actual testing was quick and painless, there are no needles involved - it's just a skin scratch now - bonus- I suppose! After all that, Dr. Metz came back in and again, spent another significant amount of time with me going over the results and a plan of action. I never once felt rushed or that they did not have time for me. It really feels like they cater to their patients. I am so happy, I definitely recommend Dr. Metz and her staff if you are having any kind of allergy, sinus or asthma problems! They so totally rock!

I had to schedule the appt through central scheduling as opposed to speaking to the office itself. They were nice enough to put me on a cancelation list and I was contacted through my UC health online quite promptly with a sooner opening. When I arrived I was really impressed by the front office staff who went above and beyond to be helpful and friendly. As I was the first appt of the afternoon, I was called back right away. I checked in with a nurse as is standard and was then moved to a consultation room to talk with the Dr. When she came in it seemed she had done a decent job of reviewing my chart ahead of time. She took quite a bit of time to speak with me, never making me feel rushed or shorted and always making sure I had no further questions. My issue with this visit first of all was this Dr has a VERY strong opinion on things, some of which are very incorrect. She told me I should've grown out of my PCOS by now (which is very medically incorrect and not a thing that happens). She also recommended an IUD that would make PCOS worse not better, and with no pain management or sedation for placement which is highly disturbing. Lastly, I was later charged a TON more for the visit due to time (beware UC is really bad about this now) and she ran costly tests without my permission that were unnecessary. While it seemed like the customer service here was great, the medical things left me feeling quite angry. Cannot recommend.

Crescent Women's was my version of "Cheers" - where I could call and say "It's Marti..." and have every assurance that my needs would be handled with kindness, compassion & humor, if warranted. The only two times I was referred to a different practitioner's office was 1)when I was pregnant with our son & very high-risk (The Seton Center & Good Samaritan high-risk & NICU wards are STILL the best of the best!). 2) a fertility specialist who was as shocked as we were to learn that I was spontaneously pregnant. Our son is now 15, has my mouth & 'tude and we repeatedly remind ourselves that he's a miracle. He's also a 15 YO male - ewww!
