    Old Carter neat.

Our experience revolved around ordering a glass of whiskey since we had read online that Kreso's had over 200 bottles of bourbon, rye, and other American whiskeys available for pours. So after dinner, we walked down to Kreso's and grabbed a spot at the bar where I ordered a neat pour of Old Carter, which was quite good and well priced. Kreso's bar is a nice place to chill and enjoy a drink. The Bee Gee's greatest hits played in the background as I glanced around. Past the bar and the statue is a private dining room for events. Overall, the establishment has a very European vibe -- the owners are of Bosnian descent. Very old school dining areas, with green-painted walls and burgundy trim around the doors I will need to come back here for dinner to sample some of the cuisine. We saw some of the plates other diners had ordered and looked quite appetizing. Kreso's is a spot to visit for the bourbon at the very least.

Great mural and a lot of other art work to check out!

We arrived late in the evening within an hour of closing time. We were pleasantly surprised by the great service and absolutely delicious food that we had there. We were not rushed through our meal at all. I had Kresos chicken, and my husband had the goulash. Both were delicious! The tables were nicely set. Bar area was extensive. Definitely will return when we are in the area!

    The goulash - get this!

I love this place. We walked in at 7pm on a Monday in a tiny town - "Do you have a reservation?" What??? And sadly, no, we did not. Luckily they took pity on us out of towners and let us hang at the bar for a few and then gave us the last table of the night - "behind the musician " Food is scrumptious- get the goulash!

If ever in Bardstown this restaurant was fantastic! The owner was a friendly & great hostess, even offered suggestions for other places in the area. We weren't super hungry so just got salads & mushrooms, but they were absolutely delicious!!

We always love the food at Kreso's. The jaeger schnitzel and the kreso's pasta are delicious.

owner was pleasant. However, the food was bland and tasteless. Also, I do not like being waited on by a child.

When we confirmed with the waitress it did have that ingredient, the waitress shrugged and said sorry while walking away. It was a skillet so there was no picking around anything. We sat at the bar because it was still pretty packed. The place was fun - the service was a bit silly in a good way. Great cocktails. Great ambiance and decor. My bourbon-grilled pork chops were fantastic. Good cornbread. Green beans were fantastic. The fried apples were just okay - a bit on the dry side. My friend's chicken and waffles looked amazing. Another friend's ribeye looked a bit overdone to me, but he seemed to like it. I wish the souvenir store was still open when we were there (it closed at 6pm) because I would have liked to bring home a trinket or shirt. Maybe upon next visit - because I will definitely eat here again the next time I'm in Bardstown. Make it a priority to stop in!

Once seated we were given some recommendations by our sever, Bethany, who did an excellent job of taking care of us. So we ended up ordering the Pulled Pork Platter & Shrimp & Grits. Our meals arrived in short order & everything was outstanding. Our only complaint was the acousticss were pretty awful which made carrying on a conversation a little difficult but I suppose there isn't much that can be done about that. The shepherds pie was just okay. Green fried tomatoes were fine, but missing the mark on the sauce. We ordered a special, souvlaki chicken. It was two skewers of really small, burnt and overcooked chicken with peppers on a bed of what tasted like microwaveable rice. Totally missing the seasoned and bright-herbaceous mix of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and oregano. Just go to the bar. Find some other place for dinner.
