We came here after the races at Keeneland. We started with the sausage balls. While delicious, there was too much breading in them. I would have preferred them to be more meaty. I had the chicken tender sandwich which was delicious. Crispy on the outside and tender and juicy inside. My husband had a burger that he thoroughly enjoyed. Service was excellent. Beer was cold. What more could I ask for?

Very unimpressed with everything we ordered. The chili dogs are all bread with meat that looks like a slim jim. The fish sandwich was too much bun. Smothered pork chops was my meal, and they had a weird taste and texture. Slimy. The green beans were seasoned with something I've never tasted, and didn't like. The mashed potatoes were barely mashed. We all had a drink, which were just ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our service was good, and it's very clean inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I just won't return.

Great Brewery in Bardstown! The service from Jessica at the bar was awesome! Their food and brews are delicious, as well as their Old Fashioned. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We loved the building, and the atmosphere was cool!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely be back! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Trivia that night was a plus and a great time![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Enjoyed a dinner here with 5 friends in a large booth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Seated and served quickly on a Tuesday night with a fair amount of business. The table shared huge soft pretzel served with beer cheese, a couple of mustards, and roasted grapes. Very good. Got some sausage balls, as well. Also quite good. I enjoyed my hot brown entree, others had wings, pork chops, and fried fish which they all said was good. Didn't try any of their beers but will the next time I visit.

Great place to go get a bite and have a drink! Burger was fantastic and so was the pretzel. Had a nice flight of sour beers. Only complaint was the friend chicken tenders were kind of dry and didn't have much flavor. Other than that, great experience.

Wow this place is amazing! We sat in Keith's section and he told us some history about the building and we were so entertained, what a nice guy ! The food was amazing. And the drifts were perfect! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I highly recommend this place, the ambiance was so cool and nicely decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everyone was very friendly

It's been a bit since I've been to Scout & Scholar. Possibly since they got a new owner, definitely since they got a new menu. Came on a slow Saturday morning and service was great. I love craft beer flights and the three we tried didn't disappoint. Some of the food today was a miss for me. Love their pretzel as always. We also tried the fish sandwich and the chicken tenders, Buffalo style. Hope you like dill. Both the ranch and the tarter were very dill heavy and I just wasn't a fan of either sauce. The chicken was good. My tater tots were okay- pretty average as tots go. The slaw is on the sweet side. My husband really liked the fish sandwich. We also tried the potato soup today which was on special. She said it was homemade. We really enjoyed it. It was a pretty strait forward no flairs potato soup with a little bit of corn, carrots, and maybe onion. It was light for potato soup. I would recommend it!

I very rarely leave bad reviews or don't recommend a spot to visit, but my husband and our 2 friends came here for dinner a couple of weekends ago and had an absolutely awful time. We had finished our distillery tour at Heaven Hill and wanted to eat dinner together before we all headed back to Indianapolis. Scout & Scholar popped up with good reviews, so we decided to try it out. Our server had started our friendly, but as soon as one of our friends said his beer did not taste good and wanted to order a different one, his whole attitude changed and he stopped checking on us. I ordered the fried chicken plate Buffalo style that was supposed to be "chicken fingers" and they came out lukewarm and so tiny (they looked like chicken nuggets), but were $19.... insane. They also had a side of old coleslaw (was not the same color as what came out on top of either hot dog dish and didn't taste good). I had also asked for a side of buffalo sauce to dip them into and somehow it was more spicy than my actual chicken fingers, yet they said they only had the one buffalo sauce. My husband ordered the slaw dogs and one of our friends ordered the tacos dogs. The "hot dogs" were about 1/3rd the size of a normal hot dog. They kept joking that they were served Slim Jim's. The hot dogs were 5% hot dog, 45% coleslaw, and 50% bread and were $18 for 2... absolutely crazy. Our other friend ordered the chicken salad sandwich and a side of mashed potatoes and her sandwich was also way too much bread to filling ratio. The gravy that was brought out for the mashed potatoes was about twice the amount that was needed, so when she poured it over the mashed potatoes it spilled all over their side of the table. The last time our server came to check on us was right after this happened/we got our food and he said he would bring them a new napkin since one was used to clean up all of the gravy. He never came back with a new napkin as promised, never came back to ask if we wanted another rounds of drinks, and never came back to refill our waters at all during our entire stay. We waited for 20-30 minutes after we were all done eating before could finally pay because he wouldn't check on our table/wasn't in the dining area at all. When he gave us our bills ours was over $10 higher than our friends, despite spending the same amount of money as them on food and drinks (giving them the benefit of the doubt that they took off our friend's beer entirely since they had to give him a different one). I wish we had gone to Cracker Barrel instead.

I had the pretzel with the pomme pomme- a light cider! Nice service as I at and got some summer reading done for work. Pretzel was delicious, queso was a pimento cheese mix yum!

Great food, service, and atmosphere for lunch. I stopped here with a colleague while in the area for a work trip. It was right around lunch time on a Friday and the restaurant had about half the tables occupied plus some folks sitting at the bar. Not too busy. We sat at the bar and were attended to promptly by one of the bartenders. No drinks for us on that day, although I wish I could have tried something from the brewery. We ordered and received our food rather quickly, although we had time to take in the atmosphere - high ceilings, a view of the brewery through glass, and a beautiful bar space in front of us. The pulled pork slider and hot Italian sub looked appetizing when they arrived, and we were hungry. The first thing we both noticed was that the buns were amazing. Felt almost freshly baked and had great flavor. My pulled pork was juicy and the sauce was mild in spice, sweet and tangy in flavor. We both ordered the tater tots which were seasoned. Pretty heavy on the salt in the seasoning, which is my preference, and crispy. My colleague enjoyed his sandwich and tots, too. Overall, I think this was a fantastic spot to stop for lunch and I wish I could come back for dinnertime to enjoy a few beers and another entree off of the menu.

We typically stop by for dinner, but this time we had and itch for a weekend brunch. From the drinks to the food exclusively available to the brunch table, it was a stop worthy of our attention! Stop by-you'll enjoy it too from 11am to 3pm both Saturday & Sunday! DestinoGetaways

Their beer is fun, innovative and isn't afraid to explore. Although it may not be groundbreaking but making good beer doesn't always have to be. Even if beer isn't your jam I highly recommend stopping in and tasting the menu that Chef Kathryn Fink has created and Everytime I'm here there's always something new to try be it a weekly special or the ever changing menu. The smoked whitefish pate is outstanding and always a great starter. The look and feel of Monnik always reminds me of a cottage in the mountains and after spending time inside it's so easy to get lost and forget where you're at. As for the service it's always top notch and helpful. I've spent countless hours at the bar asking about different styles of beer and what makes them special. The best part about it is it never feels judgmental or pretentious just good service done the right way. Hats off to you all. Cheers.

I don't think this needs to be even called a gyro, because it's not. The brussels sprouts were okay value-wise for $5 as an added side, but not anything to write home about. The waitress we had was friendly and attentive, but Monnik has lost its edge over the years. One star for the food, added a star back because the waitress was nice and offered good service. Beer options are still good though, after all these years I've been going here. I don't think I will be back again.
