This location focuses almost exclusively on dogs and in fact has just about everything you can think of for a dog. Cats are an afterthought for Kriser's. I have a cat, and purchase Wellness foods there for him. It seems that the food selections are getting fewer. Good quality cat toys are definitely dwindling, and in fact some of the cheaply made toys are actually dangerous for cats. They're also hit and miss on cat treats and many of them seem more appropriate for a small dog. When I mentioned this disparity to the staff in the store, I was pretty much dismissed. read more

I really wanted to give this place a chance, until they put my dog in a choke hold. I called the store today around noon to see if they had availability to do a nail trim & teeth cleaning. The lady on the phone was really nice, and welcomed me to come in before 430. I arrived around 230, and when I opened the door was welcomed by three women, one holding a small dog, behind the counter. Two of them scurried away, including the one holding the dog. I asked if they had time for again, a nail trim and teeth cleaning, and the lady behind the counter (who was the lady I spoke with on the phone) said yes that I had talked to her over the phone previously, and the groomer said "give us five minutes". I told her my dog does well with nail trims but has really sensitive nails so to just be mindful of this. I had no problem waiting with my small pup, but was almost immediately greeted again by the groomer to grab my pup. I started to walk around the store and just browse, and asked the two ladies at the desk if they could help me find a comparable food to what I fed my dogs. The phone lady recommended two brands for me and we started to chat when I suddenly heard my pup yelp. I looked over and saw the groomer be very aggressive with her, this was followed by the groomer and her colleague literally holding my dog in a choke hold. I'm not exaggerating, one of them had my dogs head in the pit of her arm while the other was roughly grabbing my dogs paws. My dog is a small chihuahua, that weighs MAYBE 9 pounds. YES, a "trained technician" had my 9 pound dog in a choke hold. After, they pulled out some cleaning wipes. When I asked phone lady why they needed those for a nail trim and teeth cleaning, she said it was for the "anal glands express" when I quickly responded with "I did not ask for that". She looked at me surprised and then went into the grooming area to tell the groomer to stop right away. Right after they tried to clean her teeth, and at this point she was clearly very distressed. I asked the now other lady behind the desk to just tell them to stop and that I would clean her teeth myself. A man and his kids had walked in and saw most of this, and seemed shocked. My girl left there shaking, scared and potentially in pain. I can't stand to think that they would treat my dog like this, let alone how many other poor animals. It makes me sick. Management needs to look into this and watch the video of the way these women were treating my dog. If you have any love for your animals, do not take them here. read more

We've been buying from this location of Kriser's since they opened. They have a good selection of high quality products, especially dog food. However, their grooming supplies selections have gone far down. According to the sales person, they've replaced customer favorites with their "house" brands. That would be okay, but today I ran in to buy detangled for my 100 pound dog. The only option was to buy 3 ounce "sample" sizes for 99 cents each. Obviously, that's not going to go far with my big dog. I wondered if maybe they were just out of the normal 8 ounce size bottles and the sales person said this was all they were carrying. So, for a really nice store in a seemingly large area for grooming, they are carrying only one detangled and in a 3 ounce size. Please give us some inventory options. read more

We've been taking our cockapoo to Kriser's for years now and this most recent experience was one to remember for all the wrong reasons. I brought the doggo in on a Friday afternoon. It was right around the time that coronavirus was ramping up so the store was very slow. He was the ONLY dog there when I dropped him off. I thought that was great because he'd get all the attention he needed and have a relatively quick and detailed groom. Boy was I wrong. For $86 dollars, and that includes the $10 tip that we always give on principle, I could have, and would have, given him a hair cut myself with safety scissors, and it would've been better! They missed several spots along his body, leaving lengthy patches, and his the hair on his head was easily a half inch longer than the rest of his body. His face didn't even look like it had been cut. In fact, two weeks later we did have to trim the hair on his snout with scissors ourselves because it had gotten so long and out of control. I am extremely disappointed with this given that I paid $86 for a terrible cut, which in all honestly is triple the cost of my own hair cuts and easily less than 1/3 the quality. I added a star because the gals behind the register are always nice and accommodating. At the end of the day though, I'm paying for a proper hair cut, and there are no excuses for how bad it was this time. Can't say I'd be back or ever recommend after that experience. read more

They said will cover the medical bills but not the Uber fees. I understand that it might be an accident but I feel so bad see my dog like this. will NOT going back. I showed a picture of how I want my dog to look like but when I went to pick him up he looked nothing like it. They took too much of his hair on the face. My roommate and I have taken her dog here on several occasions for nail grinding/triming. I can say that nearly every time we arrive with Bella we are treated with courtesy, professionalism and friendliness. Lindsay and Hayla are most accommodating. We always leave as satisfied customers. The store is a cache of specialty foods, treats and toys for not only dogs but most animal. The grooming room has a large window for viewing both from within and from the outside, I believe this allows Bella to be at ease if she can see my roommate or myself while she's being treated. Appointments are easily made and quick. It's also reassuring to know that the employees are dog owners and/or animal lovers. read more

We buy our dog food from Kriser's because 1. They sell Orijen 2. Their store is hella convenient to where we live. 3. Their prices are comparable to everyone else that sells that (very pricey) food. All three of our dogs get their nails trimmed at Kriser's. It's very hit or miss whether or not it's done satisfactorily. There have been occasions where we literally cannot tell that their nails have even been touched. Luckily, the employees are very chill and have no problem doing things until patrons are happy. read more

Been taking my chihuahua to krisers for nail trims for years and it's never a problem that I can hold him during it because he has really bad separation anxiety. This groomer would not allow me to hold him and when the front desk lady said only she could my dog immediately freaked out at someone else holding him. I'm driving to the downtown location where this is not an issue. It makes it so much easier for my dog and the groomer to just let me hold him. We've brought our Australian Shepard to Kriser's for about a year. Not any more. I asked for a really good cut twice-once when I made the appointment and again when I dropped him off. Four hours later, he was finished and it didn't even look like his hair had been cut. It looked like they just washed and blow dried. I called and complained. They said to bring him back so we did. They trimmed a little bit off but completely messed up the front. It looks like a toddler cut him-all jagged and crooked. It is so bad, we think it was intentional. We could have done a much better job. After $137 including tip, he should look like a professional groomed him, not a kid. We won't be back! read more

I am very, very disappointed by the service I received at this Kriser's location, specifically from the grooming department. I took my two dogs to be groomed yesterday and when I went to pick them up was told that they had not been able to groom one dog's feet because she kept pulling away from them. I accepted that and took them home as they seemed to be fine. When she woke up from a nap yesterday evening, however, she was hobbling badly and was unable to go up stairs. I took her to the emergency vet last night and am currently treating her with pain meds and anti-inflammatory meds until we can be seen by her regular vet tomorrow. I left a message with the store for a manager to discuss but they have ignored my calls so far. My assumption at this point is that they handled my dog too roughly and caused the injury. I'm not looking for recompense of any kind, I am simply wanting to discuss my concerns with store management and hopefully ensure this kind of treatment doesn't happen to anybody else's pet. If they had been honest with me and willing to discuss the problem openly, I wouldn't have felt the need for a public review of the poor treatment we've received. Given the current situation I will never be back, and I encourage all pet lovers to avoid using their grooming facilities. There's been far too many stories of bad groomers hurting pets, and there are so many good ones out there that it simply doesn't make sense to to use one that ignores an obvious problem. read more

It's a small shop, and it may not be the one-stop shop for all of your pets' needs, but where they have chosen to focus their offerings are spot-on. You'll find premium pet foods, a wide selection of treats, supplements, some nice toys, leashes and collars. Prices are competitive with what I've seen elsewhere, and the staff is friendly. Terrible. My dog has been groomed monthly since we adopted her but Kriser said they could not groom her because she was afraid. The guy who works here was such a jerk about the situation. She was with them for 3 hours and they did not call to let me know she was having a hard time. I was SHOCKED by how poorly they handled my dog and the situation and by how RUDE the man was. I previously vowed not to return to Kriser's because of how obnoxious the staff always was. I always ended up with somebody talking my ear off, asking 50 questions, and following me around the store. The staff was just too dense to realize which clients want to shop in peace and which would love to chit chat. But I got suckered back in with a coupon. I took my nervous teenage dog to use this as a training opportunity. Instead, she was accosted by a loose dog almost as soon as we walked in. The man working then followed me through the store telling the dog to "go say hi" over and over. The loose dog sniffed every last inch of my dog as I was trying to check out and my poor dog was trying to get away. I tried to remove the dog from my dog's space but he was pretty damn determined. Not only did my dog not have a positive experience, this has hindered her training. I will not be back nor will I refer anybody else to any Kriser's . read more

Not impressed with this store. The item I wanted was out of stock. They offered to have it brought over from another store, assuring me it would be at their store the next day. They had my name and phone number. I came in to pick it up and the person working had no clue what I was talking about. She called the manager and told me very unapologetically that it was forgotten and told me to go to the other store to pick it up. I explained my displeasure about this, told her I've already gone out of my way to come back today, no one bothered to call me and then she told me there was nothing else she could do for me. Great! I have been going to this store since my friend referred me to them, maybe close to a year ago. I have spent a good amount of money here and am so disappointed in the customer service that we have recently received and will not be back due to the assistant managers lack of professionalism and integrity. My dogs arrived at 3:06, waited for someone to come to the front which made it 3:08 and then got checked in and the girl up front had to go back and forth and told us that they would not be able to do the grooming appointment and had a 15 minute late policy and it was 3:14 at this time. Asked to have the nail trim removed and they still would not accommodate. I understand we were late BUT when I called the assistant manager today to understand what happened she was dismissive and called my boyfriend a liar. This is unacceptable. The assistant manager obviously knew of the situation previously to me calling and was prepared to lie to me on the phone. I try to support small businesses but this will not happen at this location anymore. The point is yes we were late and sometimes things happen but the complete lack of customer service and professionalism is why we will not be back. read more

Absolutely the best grooming experience we have had so far with our Labradoodle. Divion is amazing, we can drop him off without worry of how he will come back. I don't normally shop at this location, but I was in the area and wanted to see what another store had to offer. My mother and I walked into the store and there were two women working. The older of the two asked if we needed anything and we replied with a smile "we are doing alright just wanting to look around" and she continued to interrogate us about why we were in the store asking "what were we looking for, she'll show us what we needed if we just tell her what we're shopping for" until I finally told her "I just want to look around. Is that ok?" Her and the younger girl behind the counter then continued to follow us around the store 'cleaning' and 'organizing' everything around us. They were not discrete about it either. I just wanted to find a new treat for my dog who was having surgery today. So he had something nice to come home to. Rather then having an amazing experience like I normally do at the Yosemite location. I was followed around and discriminated against. I will not be returning to this location and I think they need to seriously rethink their staffing. read more

I have taken my dog here for two years and I'm always treated poorly. I've never been to a business that acts like it's a privilege for customers to give them money. I have an older shelter dog and I like to wait while they give her a bath. They told me if I want to wait to schedule an early appointment. So I always do and they always act like it's a huge hassel. Today they left her for 30 minutes while I watched them do nothing but walk their own dog. I took my dog here for a groom and it looks like they just let a 5 year old groom him. The job looked completely botched up. I asked them to trim up the area around his penis because the hair there was growing long and it just looks like they went at it blindfolded. It was uneven and didn't look anything like when I picked him up from his foster home the first day. He is a corgi lab mix so I understand there isn't much grooming but the hair on his belly was getting long and was hanging to the ground so I thought it would be fine. They also have samples that you can take home (since our dog happens to also be a super picky eater). I used Kriser's for grooming last week because my usual favorite place was booked up for 3 weeks and it was a dire situation! I appreciate them getting me in so last minute and thought they did a nice job, but was a little put off by the price. I go somewhere else usually that is $15 less for a great groom. I can't bitch too much because I was desperate and maybe they knew that. they have a great selection of treats and food and very friendly people working there. I would go back again. read more

After a recommendation from a friend, I have had my dog (Standard Poodle) groomed by Crystal three times so far, and she has done a great job. I do find it expensive but I thought that was because I was from Australia and had added the extra 30% exchange rate conversion but in weighing up the time etc of going somewhere else, and taking into my account my dog is happy to stay, I will keep on going back. I have never had any of the issues that other people comment on about getting followed around. read more
