They always ask me what I want done and how short I want his hair cut, which I appreciate because previous groomers hadn't taken the time to learn exactly what I was looking for. I came here looking for some CBD for my dog for her hip issue. The owner immediately walked me over to their wide section of pet CBD products and explained to me their potency and use. I chose the one he recommended. Within one week I have noticed improvement and she loves the peanut butter flavor. This Kriser's is located in the Mariano's shopping center on Dundee Road. I typically go to the kildeer location, but today I had a 2 bags of food delivered. One bag came from somewhere else and one bag came from here. The delivery bag had our name and some cute paw prints drawn on and inside there was a little goodie bag with samples, treats, store info and in our receipt letter there was a cute drawing as well. I want to take this opportunity to rave about an employee named Kevin. I have a dog who had some big burs stuck to her. This is a huge problem for me because if I try to remove them-she will bite me. I went to Krisers in the hopes of seeing the groomer for this emergency. The groomer was already gone. I was in tears. But Kevin stepped in. He got on the floor and gently talked to my dog and slowly got out each bur. She was so good with him-she even layed down and closed her eyes while he worked on her . I would have needed stitches if I attempted to do what he did. But she trusted Kevin. This man went beyond the call of duty. Mian is the best. Krisers is lucky to have her as one of your staff. We had a trouble with our pet schedule and thought that we were taken advantage as we were in a hurry. It took my fur baby 5 hours with them only to end up not having any services done aside from the bath and was charge for it. Mian one of the people who works there called me and wanted to touch based. They wanted to apologies as they werent in control of the situation that day and wanted to make up with us. I trust the brand eversince and given them another chance. I am deligthfully satisfied not only with the service but with the attiude and the behavior and the humbleness of mian and the staff who took care of my dog that day. It is not sometimes with the qualify that people stay within a business but its the satisfaction as to how the its employees treat their customers. read more

If you make a grooming appointment there is a very high likelihood that the groomer will cancel on Saturday or Sunday due to a "family emergency", "dental emergency" or other "urgent" matter. It's happened to me three times, my parents twice, and two of my friends each a couple times as well. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. read more

Excellent products. However, every time I come in to shop for cat food, there no prices for the canned food, and A LOT of prices are missing on other products. I mention it every time I come in, and every time the response is vague. I want to get quality products for my cats, but, for me, price counts too! Get a good price gun and stay on top of it, please? Pros: the place is clean. I was given an aptmt an hour before store opening to accommodate a first time groom and keep it calm. Groomer was pleasant and patient during the 15 minute consult before I left my dog. Cons: my dog's hair was cut significantly shorter than we agreed on because he "didn't like the combs." His nails weren't trimmed or ground and front paw pads not shaved because he "was getting too upset". $80 to groom an 18# dog and an additional $20 dematting fee for a dog who's hair wasn't that long or matted, total $100 for an incomplete groom lacking a basic nail trim. Few dogs like nail trims, that's why dog owners go to a professional groomer. Dogs may not like combs or having foot pads shaved...again that's why we pay for professional grooming. Wouldn't go back. read more

It's that time of year again - our yellow lab becomes a dandelion, shedding all over everything in the home. She can be a real handful, and requires extra attention when being groomed. We don't always like the results from other local pets stores that feature grooming, but we can count on Kriser's to do a great job. We opted for the full package; deep washing, FURminator anti-shedding, breath, butt, and nails. The groomer did it all in under two hours, and our pup looks like a whole new dog. The monstrous shedding has tapered off, and she smells great. Of course, we'll have to keep taking her back every so often - yellow labs are notorious shedders - but it's good to know Kriser's can handle the job. read more

This was a new location for me! I love the Wilmette store, but this store is closer to my house so I popped in for a nail trim for my dog and to pick up dog food. My dog is a little nervous, but the groomers were awesome with her. As I was waiting for my dog to finish up in the grooming dept, Miah and Abby asked me what food I usually buy and told me it was on sale for the next two weeks! I would not have known otherwise! This is the best natural pet place that I have ever been to. The staff are so nice, helpful and friendly. My cat loves the Fromm dry cat food. It's her favorite food that she has ever had. Yes, it is expensive, but it is worth the money. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

Really not sure how I feel about this place. I recently moved back to the neighborhood and wanted to find a great dog shop. So I went on YELP and saw all the great reviews, I was super excited! Unfortunately I didn't have the greatest experience. I walked in and was greeted by two people. One basically questioned why I came in. It wasn't a friendly hey what are you looking for? It was more like a what are you doing here? Are you here for grooming? To shop? What do you want kind of ordeal. I was definitely turned off of this store right away. I was always curious about Kriser's and stopped in this weekend to check it out as I feel like they are popping up all over the place and our golden doodle pup is finicky. It's a small quant store. It was very busy when we went in and there is only cash register, so get ready to wait in line. I figured we had not been noticed but the gentleman found me and my wife and helped us with our doodle who is on some sort of hunger protest. We ended up with salmon oil and stella and cheesy food mixers... and I'm telling you this thing eats better than we do. read more

I am a regular at Krisers! Weekly since this Location opened! I spend a few hundred a month at Krisers! Kristi and Shari have helped me with senior dog issues and new puppies! They have been incredible! Yesterday I went in to find out Kristi was no longer there! A new guy was working! Not very helpful! Only 3 people in the store and he was complaining frazzled! Told me I was not in the system! I needed another bully stick he wouldn't go in back to see if they had more! But informed everyone he used to work at PetCo! Who cares! You are now at Krisers! If this is the new service I will go to Bentleys or Pet People! I would rethink who you hire for these positions! This is a very high end pet store ! The employees should fit the bill! I've been having my dog groomed elsewhere for 5 years and so I guess I just didn't know what a real groomer was like until my dog and I met Mary at Krisers in Northbrook. I've always liked the Krisers downtown for just food and stuff but since we moved up here I needed my pups nails done. Mary is really great. I have had two Bichons for almost ten years, and they've been getting groomed for just as long. Kristine is the best groomer I've found, for both my timid and bold little guy. They always come back smelling fresh with perfectly coiffed hair. She listens, produces, and remembers exactly how we like their hair cut each time. Best of all, they are excited to see Kristine and run toward her, not away, when we enter the salon. No more anxiety at the groomers! She clearly has a love of dogs and has gone above and beyond for our family, making it as easy as possible for me to pick up and drop off the dogs with my two small children. I brought my 13 year old dog here to get groomed for the first time and I/we couldn't be happier. My dog doesn't need any cutting because of her breed so this was just a wash, brush, and de-shed. The staff was extremely friendly and they were able to accommodate my dog who unfortunately does not get along with other four-legged creatures. There was no problem keeping her separated from other dogs. In the past when using her previous groomer she came home usually stressed out and wanted to be left alone. But after the grooming at Kriser's there were no issues at all. She was completely herself when we left...happy, chipper, and still with a spring in her step. I think she may have enjoyed it. One thing I really liked is when I came to pick her up they had sort of a report card which gave me some information about her behavior as well as some suggestions for future groomings. Another cool thing is that they give 20% off your first grooming. I think this will be a regular grooming spot for my dog going forward. read more

I am actually just moved to the city not too long ago and before that I was in the NW suburbs. I had my dogs groomed there and I took them to this new store. Honestly the best groomer in Chicago. She loves the dogs as if they were her own, her cuts are second to none, and she is very nice. The store is also amazing and every last employee at this store knows there stuff and are very very helpful. Good manager there, good employees there, and a great groomer there. During the grand opening which was a very nice event, we scheduled an appointment for grooming and were told that the groomer has done very many cuts for cocker spaniels and she is extremely experienced. She might be an experienced groomer but I was upset when I saw my dog. She didn't really have the cocker spaniel style. Especially her back was very choppy. Her ears were not trimmed at all, and her tassels were cut way too short. The store itself seems to be very nice but I will never use their groomer. read more

I have gone to 3 groomers before finding the wonderful Mary at Kriser's. My dog is often in and out of there in 2 hours, which is SO much better than my experiences at other groomers. Mary gives great cuts, and my dog (a mini golden doodle) feels totally comfortable with her. He used to hate going to the groomer and would shake with nervous energy. Not any more. Kristine is the groomer at this location now. We have followed her from another Kriser's and from another spa before that, I guess it's been about 8 years. Needless to say we LOVE her. My two dogs adore her. One of my dogs is really old now and Kris is so gentle with him, he is always happy to see her. They both look great when she is done and whatever she uses for the bath leaves them soft and smelling good, even my friends notice.
