This UPS store is great! The staff is always friendly, efficient and detail oriented. We rented a mailbox 6 years ago for my husband's business and to not have to worry about packages stolen by porch pirates. We receive boxes several times a week and mail daily. We also ship things out frequently and occasionally I have things shredded or printed. Whichever it is, they provide excellent service. I bring my dog with me often during pickups. Everyone is nice about it and gives George a treat. A big help in socializing him when we first adopted him. Parking is easy & convenient when I have large pickups or drop offs. Amazing experience. Always wanted to check it out and finally did. Great selection. Also carrys a lot of what the main corporate stores carry (Science Diet for example) but a lot of other options for organic, clean meat treats. Also carry frozen bone marrow and great options of bones! I am so glad I tried a new wet food for our cats! They ended up loving the brand we picked and can was tiny but PACKED in Sardine gravy and they were elated! Service/cashier was super friendly! DO NOT USE THIS STORE FOR YOU DOGGIE DAY CARE! I walk by this location everyday and on multiple occasions I have seen the workers spraying the dogs with a squirt bottle. I went in to the store today to ask an employee if the owners of the dogs knew they sprayed the dogs with something and the employee told me "yes they are aware." As I was walking out a man was dropping his dog in the day care and I asked him if he knew they did this and he told me NO! Do not take your dogs here!!!!!!!! read more

I have been going to Kriser's since it has opened and used to love the quality. It has recently been acquired by a larger company and it shows. It is like going to Pet Supplies Plus (not that there is anything wrong with that but its not the high level it started at) Every time you go in there the merchandise is being "relocated" within the store, no prices on anything and again the quality of some of the brands they carry are low! Some of the little things about Krisers I used to appreciate was a simple as the nice bags when you checked out with handles, now they are brown lunch bags?!! At this point, you are better off going to a big box store, the prices are cheaper and you can still get Purina at both???!!!!!! read more

I took my son's miniature dachshund to have his nails trimmed last week. When the groomer came out she took his leash and pulled him, his front leg came out of his harness and he yelped in pain. She laughed and said he must know I'm new, I said he's scared! I picked him up and handed him to her. A day later I was at the emergency vet with him his back is injured. I do believe it was the way she yanked him, maybe she needs to read up on different breeds and how to HANDLE them! Obviously will not recommend the Krisers in Park Ridge! read more

Used to love coming to this location for over ten years. After how an incident was handled with my dog getting bit by their "manager" Toby will result in my dog Coco and I taking our business elsewhere. It wasn't the dogs fault by any means , but how Krisers handled this situation and the owner is quite disappointing. The worker who helped stopped the bleeding from Coco being bit in her neck and paw will never be forgotten. We were given some ointment and some cloth in case . I knew I had to take Coco for professional care since she was bit in the neck . I was told that that if I didn't come in Coco would've gotten a lot worse . The fact that the owner didn't even apologize or take accountability for her dog is quite sickening . Especially now that they have the joke still going about the dog being a manager ... just makes me sick ... do better Krisers .. read more

The grooming department is neglectful of animal welfare. While being groomed at Kriser's my dog's back was burned clippers, hot from overuse. His hair was singed to the skin and began falling out. It has since grown back a completely different color and texture, illustrated in the second picture. (He is a maltipoo so his hair is naturally white/ cream. The new hair is course and brown.) The groomer handed me my dog, after combing over the initial bald spot (about the size of my finger nail). Over the next week, his hair continued falling out. His vet could not tell me why the bald spot on his back was growing (lower back) nor why his hair was falling out in clumps (between his shoulders), illustrated in the first picture. After realizing he'd been burned I took him back to Kriser's. I was given excuse after excuse and no sincere apology (they did refund my vet bill after 2 months). I am absolutely appalled that no one called me to tell me there was an incident during the grooming. I understand that mistakes happen, but I cannot stomach the fact that my dog was in distress and no one thought to inform me. read more

Brought my dog to be groomed just a wash tidying up,nails. My dog didn't even look like he was cleaned on top of that they charged me À la cart, at the tune of $88.00. I was shocked this wasn't a full grooming they didn't even tell me this was going to charged that way I wouldn't have brought him there. Maybe it's because I've worked in retail since I was 16. Maybe it's because I adore my dogs. Maybe I just expect too much...I've visited this location a handful of times prior to moving to the area. Usually I just stop by to browse, with no plan to buy anything specific. This is a beautiful pet store, well organized with a good variety. What's all of that matter when the customer service here is terrible? Not once have I ever had anyone ask me if I needed help finding anything, whether or not I had any questions, etc. Weird. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. They are always patient and friendly with my dogs. The store is very nicely organized and clean as well.

I've gone to 4 Kriser's locations and have never had a problem at one. This location is a bit hidden if you are driving up Touhy, but it's easy to spot right off Northwest Highway. They have a tight parking lot in the back that is always busy, but also free parking on the street off NWH. The people that work here have been very nice and informative, and it's good to know they maintain that level of service throughout their locations. Yeah, some of the things might be a bit pricier, but my dog and his health is definitely worth it! read more

Seems "Chad" is fictitious since these complaints have been going on for months. To whom it may concern. If i had emplyees like this id close down the bussiness its that bad from what i saw today sat may 9th. Ive been coming here for 2 yrs or so when the store openned they still cant figure out how to use there register equiptment they can never find my account with the wellness program. Today had an appointment to do the nails abd they could not find anything the account or anything and refused to do the nails saying they cant find rabies shots. Funny we go through this every time we go in there. Just figure your dealing with stupid aragant people that dont care and thats ussaully how things would go for your dog or cat there. New Groomer must be FIRED I've taken my Maltese dog to Kriser's for grooming since he was a puppy. Recently I stopped in to have his nails trimmed and was told by a new groomer (older woman) that he had some matting issues that needed to be addressed. My initial reaction was that my dog didn't need a cut at the time but told her that she could take care of it. I was then asked to sign a form and left my dog in their care. When I returned... MY DOG IS BALD! I can not properly express my rage with the new groomer because I will get kicked off of YELP. I dropped off my dog THAT ONLY NEEDED A NAIL TRIM and this woman cut down my dog's long haired ears to the shortest level possible, SHAVED the entire dog and CUT OFF his long tail! I brought in a Maltese and left with a CHIHUAHUA! I am shocked and angered! I never would have signed that form if I had known that my dog would be shaved down to nothing IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER! This groomer needs to be fired. There is no way that I am leaving my dog in her care ever again. Kriser's has always been the place where my dog has been groomed. His former groomer, Darcy was wonderful. She was kind and my dog always returned clean and with a proper Maltese cut. I do not understand how this happened. This is not a one cut fits all type of dog! You would never give a husky a poodle cut, so why on earth would you shave a dog that is meant to have long haired ears and tail!?!? I am saddened to say that I will not be returning to Kriser's unless this woman is fired. read more

I've read through many of the reviews and responses. The apathetic tone in the responses from "customer support" to unhappy customers or to people who have concerns is exactly the way you will be treated here, and it's really a shame. When I started to research places for my dogs needs I was excited to learn that Kriser's was a business owned by Brad Kriser. This was the same person that owned the Barking Lot, an amazing place where I bought my previous dog his food and took him for training. As well as this the customer service was outstanding. The customer service at the Kriser's in Park Ridge is horrible. Up until this last incident I've just ignored the negative attitudes and rudeness because I really wanted this place to work out and we all have bad days. But this is not them having a bad day. It almost feels like no one wants to be there and they take it out on the customers. I have a grooming story. The first time my dog was groomed there the groomer told me if my dog can't calm down she can't do it, then said my dog was really matted, so. SO..... my dog was 5 months old, gets brushed daily sometimes multiple times a day by me, my kids, and he's 5 months old and I don't sedate him. She said she'd call me if there were problems. I told her super nicely that if she felt uncomfortable doing it that I would be ok with finding a different place. She then kind of changed her attitude and said oh no it's no problem. I left, they called me when he was finished and when I went to pick him up he looked great and the groomer said that my dog was actually really good and he did not have any matting like she thought. Second groomers visit - went great. Two months ago I called to make a 3rd grooming appointment. The women on the phone said she could get me in but not for another 7 weeks because they only have 1 groomer, everyone else is on maternity leave. I said ok. From that time until today I've gotten different text messages from them saying my appointment was on 2 different days and 2 different times. I live close by so I actually stopped in and asked them if they could check. Ok, THREE people behind the counter one telling me it was that day in an hour, another employee saying she just spoke with my husband and he's on his way with our dog, and another asking me what my dogs name is. Turns out that was not my husband my appointment was not that day but one employee said oh well you must have the same phone number as someone else. ????? I said thats weird but ok when is the appointment? They gave me the info and I said I am getting different text messages from you guys that say different things regarding the time and date they said just come in on this day at this time. And I did that, and was scolded by a 19 yr old boy who actually argued with me and blamed me for not getting the time right when I dropped my dog off. The groomer shamed me for not bringing him in earlier OMG then when I called to see if my dog was done the same boy who gave me a super hard time and accused me of getting the appointment time wrong answered my call -said Ma'am (again with Ma'am saying it super passive aggressive) then got loud with me and said we have been calling you for an hour. I said what, I didnt get a call he said YES YOU DID. I said ok I'll be there in 5 minutes. Got there saw him asked if he was the person I spoke to on the phone he said yeah shifted his weight on his hip cocked his head to the side and said to me you know first you got your appointment time wrong now your saying we didnt call you. Just then the groomer walked out with the dog and apologized to me for calling me from a out of state number because I may not have recognized it also no one left a vm. I looked at the jerky kid smirking and completely lost my shit on him. I will never ever everrrrrrrr step foot in that place again. I honestly can't see it staying open with the people employed there. So to round back to the responses that are highly generic and apathetic I anticipate something like this: We're sorry to hear this and thank you for the feedback. I really like this store. The employees are always very friendly and answer all of my questions. They sell high quality products and I love that this store is in Park Ridge. They are expanding soon and I can't wait to see what the new location holds for them. The only reason I am giving 4 out 5 starts is because of the prices. I do think they are a little expensive for dog food, but I am willing to pay it because the store is nice and I know that I am getting a good product. The dog food industry is pretty ridiculous so it is really nice to have a place like Kriser where you can rely on true information and a filter for crappy dog food. We come here about once a week for treats, chewies, and bones! read more
