It feels as if you are an inconvenience for showing up and placing an order, as if the employees are upset they have to work. Slow service despite there being numerous employees working and barely any customers in the shop. Furthermore, they appear to always be cleaning, using a hose to spray everything down, but despite this the trays and what is observable from the front it is always dirty. Maybe just spraying water isn't an effective way to clean. Weird and disgusting odor emanating from the rear of the store. I decided to stop here and get that much needed boost that only totally processed, sugared out snacks can give. I remember having Krispy Kreme years ago in Northern NJ and New York City. Then I moved to Delaware and didn't see another one until this store opened in Airport Plaza. I'm not sure the donuts themselves are all that special, but you can view the kitchen from the dining area and it is amazing to watch the endless procession of donuts coming out from the donut-making machine on the conveyor belt. Instead of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, it's like Donald and the Donut Factory. I love my wife but i regret bringing her to Krispy Kreme in an attempt to make her day better with a fresh doughnut while bringing her home from making FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR HER MOTHER!!!!!!!! I hate that my wife had already payed before she walked over to the doughnut machine laughing and joking about whatever they felt was so funny. We got here at 6:50 to bring Krispy Kreme's home to New England for our kids. Website says they open at six. They flicked the light on before we turned it (Hot donuts!). We pulled in and all the ladies stared at us through the glass. Doors locked. We tried the other door ~ locked. Stood there looking for posted hours ~ none. All five women watched us and not one came to tell us when they open, etc. very rude. We waited in the car another five minutes and they continued to chat and stare through the glass. Meh. I received a punch-card from a Krispy Kreme in NJ, where you can get a free dozen of original glazed after buying 5 dozens of any variety. They said it could be used in the entire Philadelphia region that covers PA, NJ, and DE. I had them all punched out, and took the card to this Krispy Kreme here in DE to get the last one for my free dozen. The cashier takes it, punches the hole, stashes the card, and hands me a little baggie with just three doughnuts. He called it a "blessing." What a rip off! Customer service asked me for a phone number and they didn't even call me back. I'll think twice about coming back here. Update: They contacted me via email to apologize about having technical difficulties in their email reception. So they called and left me a message during my work-hours. I explained to them (via email) that I do not have reception due to working on a military aircraft, and I gave them my reachable hours. They sounded adamant about discussing the issue, so I told them to email me. They emailed me just to tell me to call them, yet again during hours I've already indicated being unavailable. Love Krispy Kreme when done right! At this place, yeast donuts are just ok, but cake donuts are awful. Usually we only go for the originals, but they had cake donuts coming off the line and the employee was walking around advertising them, so we decided to buy a couple. They were undercooked and a distinct ring of grease that sipped in a quarter way into the donut! Clearly the oil was not hot enough to properly cook the donut. I asked the manager to take a look at them. He was completely unfazed and said that that is exactly how they look and that is why they are 400 calories and walked away with a smirk. Workers at this location are rude and ignorant. Asked a simple question about whether donuts containing nuts were made on the property, as my children are allergic and I never saw nut products there before. I was treated like dirt by the one employee of five that was actually working in there. The allergen sign was slapped onto the counter and I was told in a loud voice that I never read the sign. She then turned her back on me and walked away. I will NEVER go to this location again. Nicest employees are at Havertown, PA location.
