I visited for my birthday yesterday, hoping to enjoy a free birthday treat with my granddaughter. Unfortunately, the entire experience was highly frustrating and completely ruined the celebration.Automated Drive-Thru: We tried to order at the drive-thru, which is now automated. The robotic system repeatedly misunderstood us and made it impossible to get our order correct.Confusing Rewards Policy: When we mentioned the birthday donut, the automated system instructed us to scan the app. My granddaughter quickly downloaded it right then and there. However, at the window, an employee rudely informed us that the app had to be downloaded prior to our visit.Poor Food and Service: We decided to buy a treat anyway for my granddaughter . The item handed to us was scalding hot, meaning my granddaughter couldn't even eat it until we reached summer camp. Krispy Kreme always does a great job... They are company stores that all follow the same guidelines and they seem to work well. Reviews are pretty much the same from location to location. There selection is always fresh and their team members are always friendly and courteous. I'll always believe that they got a bad rap many year's ago when they opened a few stores and they came after them for the calories in the donuts. Really, all donuts are just flower and sugar of course their not overall healthy.. Don't eat one every day and just have one when you do... This is also a great shop. Easy entry from the main road and plenty of parking. We were immediately greeted by the one of the team members behind the counter who was moving between the takeout window and counter. Extremely courteous and did a great job. One Chocolate Creme (just love them) and a large cup of coffee, which by the way, they do really well. Donut was fresh, coffee hot, very simple. The shop had a few seats and their big windows provided plenty of light. They were clearly getting ready for the holidays with all their specialty donuts. We went through the drive through and had to talk to AI, regular nowadays I guess, then the AI wouldn't let us even have time to think, we asked to talk to a team member and then it told us to pull up so we did. When we got there it was whatever, the lady was pretty nice and helpful to tell us the menu, my mom got a cookies and cream donut and I got a chocolate sprinkle donut. Once we pulled them out of the package and I looked at my donut, the chocolate looked almost fake and not chocolate-y and I glanced over at my moms and found a WHITE HAIR ON HER DONUT. I tried ordering regular milk and this is the third or fourth time and he tells us that they don't have it but yet when you get to the window, they do have regular milk this time the hot donut sign was lit up and on as we approach the window, we were told there was no more raspberry donuts and ask for regular milk. We came last night because it was my birthday today and I wanted donuts instead of a cake and Krispy kreme original glazed donuts are one of my favorites! Got to the window after ordering was told at 9:03 even though the ai machine took our order they couldn't give us our donuts yet had two trays of donuts in their hands as well. Not to mention the front door was locked before 9pm. Both hot and ready signs were on and the open sign outside the doors was there as well. For opening day not bad of a crowd in the afternoon. Kids loved watching the doughnuts being made. All the employees were very friendly given the masses that have been through before we got there. They did excellent with directing traffic given they share what now seems to be a small parking lot with Chick fil a. They also held traffic so we could cross the driveway safely. We were thanked about four times leaving the register and what I'm assuming were owner/managers that were on site to guarantee smoothness. When we taste tested them the filled ones lacked filling. There was maybe a teaspoon of filling in each. A bit disappointing. Will try again maybe in a month when the excitement wears off and they can refine their amount of filling per donut. Do Not Go at 3:30am and expect quick drive thru. Maybe I woke them up? Then the Coffee machine was down. Then their CC machine was "rebooting". Look you've been open over a week. You should know when your CC machine will batch and reboot. It's not rocket science. And I shouldn't have to wait another 5 at the window to be told it's going to be a little longer if I want to pay by card. They never have the donuts they show online. Have placed orders online in the past few months to show up to pick up and get told they "ran out" or hit with the "the person that fills the donuts are on lunch" and I have to pick donuts I don't even like. I stopped ordering online since I never get what I request and I don't want to get stuck with donuts I don't even like. A while back I was told to come back and they would fix the issue.. I came back and the employees had no idea and weren't even told about the issue, it was embarrassing so I just left instead never fixed the issue nor did I get a refund. I was up early this morning to get some hot Krispy Cream doughnuts. I called the number in Rohnert Park to find out when they started serving hot doughnuts. I was told that hot doughnuts are served from 6 am to 11 am. I waited and drove to the store and arrived at 6:07. When I got in line I ordered the hot doughnuts I was told that there were NO hot doughnuts at that time and there wouldn't be any until an hour later. I explained that I had called a half hour earlier and was told 6 am and asked why didn't the person on the phone tell me this during my call. All the person said was "Sorry". I think this is very poor customer service. I made the effort to contact them to confirm information and the staff couldn't even provide correct information. This is ridiculous! I'm from Sonoma County, and I used to go to Krispy Kreme all the time. I moved out of state 11-months ago. I'm here on a visit and was craving an original custard filled Krispy Kreme donut. I went t through the drive through and was told they don't have those anymore. The only custard filled they offer has chocolate on it. I asked if they would just add custard (for an extra charge), and she said they can't do that. I'm very disappointed and needless to say won't be coming back... ever! They lost this customer...
