Redwood Cafe is a regular place for my family. We have come here to have birthday breakfasts with a large party and it's always been great fun! The Redwood Cafe has got a lot of space, but feels cozy at the same time thanks to the dark wood and the fireplace. You order at the counter and sometimes the folks behind the counter have trouble hearing you, but it works ok. They still have their Covid screens up to protect their workers which is important for some businesses. I have tried many dishes here, but a few of my go-to dishes include the Tortilla Scramble (I always add chorizo), the Mexican omelette, the Redwood Omelette, and their bakery goods are all delicious! My daughter loves their blueberry pancakes and my wife is a big fan of their Mediterranean omelette. Food was horrible. Portions were very small for the expensive price. Italian soda tasted horrible. Lunch for 2 people cost us $80. The people working were very rude and not helpful at all. We asked for more salad dressing and the waitress was annoyed to get it for us and never brought any back, she sat behind the counter and was just talking with other co-workers. My friend had suggested Redwood Cafe because not only would it be open, but also he was craving their Breakfast Burrito. It was a great suggestion! When we got there Saturday morning, the vibe was chill inside with plenty of seats. It also looked like there was a stage for nights where they have open mic music for the dinner crowd. As many diners, Redwood Cafe had a pretty extensive menu with the classic brunch fare. However, I was particularly intrigued by their Triad Bodybuilding options which seemed to be curated by health coaches. Although the Breakfast Burrito still sounded super tempting, I finally settled on the Real Deal Power Meal which was four egg whites with a choice of meat and two buckwheat pancakes. For the size, the price was super reasonable and I thought the food was solid. In terms of service, you do have to go up to the counter to order and pay before taking a seat. Given how hungry we were, we appreciated that the food came out pretty quickly. Parking immediately in front of the restaurant was a bit difficult to find, but there is some on the street within walking distance. What a great local place, food was delicious and a large variety on the menu to choose from. Wednesday Brunch in Cotati. I called in the morning to confirm they are dog friendly. Theodore and I grabbed a seat on the back patio. There is a row of picnic style tables with umbrellas. We sat smack dab in the middle. Delfino greeted us with a friendly smile. He returned with water and menu. Theodore had New York Strip Steak with scrambled eggs. I had Corned Beef Hash with soft poached eggs and sourdough toast. Food arrived within 10-15 minutes. Our meal was good. I like my egg yolk a smidge more runny. Large amount of food. I'm not gonna lie, I've been to Redwood Cafe 3 days out of 7 recently, why you may ask, Music. They excel in music offerings, live bands, musicians, from Blue Grass, to Blues to Open Mic Jazz. It's what draws me to the place. The food is ok, the menu is a little too much, portions are pretty big, but the cooking is basic. They serve breakfast all day & night. You order food at the counter and it is delivered to you. They offer beer and wine, plenty of seating but the plastic picnic tables in the back are not comfortable but I guess good for bigger parties. The staff is great, they hustle, cleaning, serving. They have a nice selection of art on display highlighting various local artist, it's an inviting space with a patio outside as well. They were accommodating when I was wheelchair bound, when I was going through a rough patch in recovery from broken ankle they would bring my plates to me. I didn't order any food but nibbled on my friends fries. They weren't that good they seem like they might've been frozen fries. But I can't judge because I only had a few and there were quite a few things on the menu. That looked good period. The music was absolutely amazing and really good. Their Benedict's use the real deal delicious hollandaise sauce btw, and great quality bacon. The burgers are also of great quality. Even though it's order food at a window they go advice and beyond to try to provide extra service; very nice people there! Wanted to get a "light" lunch before a 5pm wedding and daughter picked this place for the salads and smoothies. And she picked GREAT! We all loved everything we got and in fact ordered more to go in prep for a late night meal after the wedding! LOL First of all - their menu is pretty extensive so it caters to everyone in the fam! AND their smoothies are so refreshing and delicious! You order - get a number - sit and they bring everything to you! We got our waters first, place settings (though they usually have them at each of the tables but our table was lacking) and are so fast and friendly!! We all got smoothies, so many to choose from. I loved my Strawberry Sunshine which has yogurt, banana, strawberries, orange juice and my kids got the Strawberry Delight that has pineapple juice, banana, coconut, strawberries, and honey. My daughter and I shared the Beet Salad which I'm SO GLAD we did - it was HUGE! A mixed greens salad with TONS of beets, tomatoes, feta cheese, chopped walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette. It was perfect. Filling but not heavy! Hubby had the Mango Snapper Wrap w/salad. It's a tomato tortilla wrap with grilled pacific snapper, mango salsa, ginger slaw, avocado and jasmine rice. I took a bite to taste! Then another bit because it was so light and refreshing! Was so filling that hubby could only finish half his wrap. They're generous with the side salad as well. Youngest got the Chicken BLT w/salad, which is grilled chicken breast, bacon, lettuce, mayo tomato, and avocado. The chicken was tender and juicy with the right amount of bacon, lettuce and tomato and the avocado added the right amount of creaminess. She finished the whole thing! :) And the oldest had the Portabella Mushroom Sandwich w/salad. This is a good size portabella mushroom that's seasoned perfectly on ciabatta bread with pesto, swiss cheese, and roasted red peppers. OMG it was SO GOOD!! We all took bites out of her sandwich and ended up ordering another for a late night meal after the wedding. Which I'm SO GLAD we did - it was good even the next day heated up. Perfect random stop for breakfast on our way North to Santa Rosa. Just a short drive off main route 101. Quaint, rustic, warm, and a great breakfast menu. There is ample outdoor dining in front of the restaurant and also a sweet spot filled with bamboo trees along the side of the restaurant. This was our spot. You do order inside and a server will bring your food to you. There is a customer water and coffee station set up to serve yourself. My veggie omelette did not disappoint. The freshest veggies ever, with sour dough toast and seasoned cut potatoes on the side. Simple yes, but there's something special here. Redwood Café is a staple of downtown Cotati and it's the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have plenty of seating inside and outside patio seating as well as seating along the street under a tent with heaters. I recently ordered the linguine al pesto for dinner, which comes with creamy pesto, tomatoes, garlic and garlic bread. The garlic bread was my favorite part of the meal but it was a lot of garlic. The pesto pasta was good but could have used a little more cream. I also recently had the veggie potatoes which comes topped with corn, broccoli, mushrooms, zucchini, peppers, cheese and scallions. This was good but could have used a little more flavor. They have a huge menu and serve breakfast all day long and have salad, soups, wraps, entrees, smoothies and a juice bar.
