What a leap the time has afforded. The service was impeccable thanks to Sklya, our phenomenal and attentive waitress. She noticed my wife was not comfortable putting silverware directly on the table so she quickly collected it after the initial course and said, "I will bring a fresh setting with your next plate." She carefully placed them on the new plate when it came. Things like that take service to another level. She was also amazing at making sure my wife's allergies would not interfere with our experience. I would list them but it would be quicker to wait for the movie to come out. Restaurant week is a prix fixe menu of 3 courses. The first was the appetizer. My wife had the Whipped Goat Cheese spread which is Laura Chenel Goat Cheese, Local Raw Honey, Organic Raspberries, Pecans, Balsamic Date Purée & Toasted Local Barrio Sourdough Bread. Barrio Bread is a local James Beard winner so AMAZING. I had the Wagyu Meatballs that were also fantastic and so big, I took one home. We both came for the burger - Two Grassfed Beef Patties, Sharp Cheddar, G&G's Special Sauce, House-Made Pickles, Shredded Lettuce, Noble Brioche Bun, Served with French Fries. They appeared to be 2 quarter pounders both with cheese served on another local artisan baker, Noble Bread. They were enormous enough that we decided to return soon and split it with the Goat Cheese spread. Finally, we finished with their on premise made Apricot Cheesecake. It is very light. This is not a NY Style dense Cheesecake but still, one of the best I have ever had. The texture was so light with a crunchy bottom crust, whipped cream and a sublime Apricot topping. A fantastic evening that will bring us back much sooner.

My mom and I eat breakfast here almost every Saturday morning while my dad attends a nearby Bible study. We eat great food, drink lovely coffee (Buzzed Goat's cold brew? Their smashed potatoes is a religious moment, and their pickled onions will inspire you to make you own. The Morning Board, one of their more unique offerings, is great to share if you have a larger group. And the service? We had played Scrabble one morning, and then went on vacation, missing a couple Saturdays. The next Saturday morning we walked in the doors, one of the lovely servers ran up to us with a Scrabble letter we had unknowingly dropped three weeks prior. She helped save the integrity of our Scrabble game and we are eternally grateful. Everyone who works there is wonderful and so friendly. We've had lovely conversations with many of the servers, as well as one charming member of the kitchen staff who was particular proud of that morning's hollandaise (as he should be). The atmosphere is homey and comfortable. The place radiates "local gem", from the small vendors you can buy from (they have shelves with lots of fun items for purchase) to the tiny library you can borrow or add to (we've done both) to the thoughtful music artist montage on the wall (can you name all the artists? I ended up eating only 1/4 of the burger and a few of the onion rings. It wasn't terrible, but the burger really wasn't very good. I should've probably looked at it and sent it back, but I hate sending food back. What kind of bothers me is the server looked directly at my plate that I had pushed to the edge of the table for pick up. Saw I didn't eat but a quarter of the burger and still had quite a fewof the onion rings left and didn't ask how I liked it. Clearly he noticed the plate but yet doesn't ask if I wanted to go box or if I liked it. I guess I sort of expect anywhere I eat that they'll come by and ask if I need anything else or if I enjoyed it or not.
