I was in town for the weekend visiting family and was looking for a good breakfast with organic coffee. I really wish it were easier to find breakfast joints with organic coffee but it can be a bit difficult to find in certain areas, such as the east valley area. This was one of a couple options I could find. We attempted to dine here for dinner on a previous occasion but it was a long wait at that time so we went elsewhere. This time we showed up around 10:15am on a Saturday in June, and we were quoted 90 minutes for two people. Fortunately there was room at the bar, so we were seated immediately. The decor is very clean and subtlety higher end. It is an open floor plan with the bar towards the front door, which is also accessible from the large patio (in cooler weather times) that has mister fans and a lot of shade. They have one of the nicest and cleanest restrooms in the valley, with complementary sea salt scrub and high end paper napkins. They also have a couple luxurious event spaces, one of which was hosting an engagement party. My mom tried a non alcoholic drink special with decaffeinated tea and fresh juices, with a little flower on top. She also tried the avocado toast. She enjoyed both but she said the avocado toast was a little spicy, albeit she has an extremely low tolerance for spice. I opted for the breakfast sandwich and black coffee. The coffee came in a neat mug with an oversized handle that was very ergonomic. It was good, but slightly watery. Was at least comforting to know it wasn't laced with tons of pesticides like most restaurants' coffee. The egg, bacon and avocado sandwich was delicious. The egg and bacon were cooked perfectly, and the bread was nice and soft but not too dry. The greens on the side were fresh with a nice vinaigrette. The service was excellent, all of the staff were friendly and seemed to be happy to be there. All in all I was impressed with this place. The only thing I wish they had on their brunch menu was an omelette, because this is first place I have been in a very long time that isn't a fine dining establishment, where they actually know how to cook eggs properly. They were fluffy, moist, and light. I don't bring this up as a brag, but I attended culinary school and learned proper scrambled egg (French style) technique years ago. I was told they use clean and organic ingredients which you can taste from the get go. I really like George and gather. I've been here for dinner before but this was the first time I've come for lunch. It was quite crowded at lunch, I'm parking was a bit of a challenge on the day I went. My friend was already there so they directed me to his table when I arrived. Our server promptly came to the table to take my drink order and tell me about the special that was not on the menu. I ordered the off menu chicken Caesar wrap with a side of fries. It was really delicious - - I love when they actually put their wrap on the grill to make it crispy on the outside. The fries were quite good - - the kind that you can keep eating as they get cold. Came here for date night and was not disappointed! I had read great things online and was excited to see they offered gluten-free options. We ordered the pepperoni pizza on cauliflower crust, drinks, and the parmesan truffle fries... everything was delicious. One thing I really loved was the attached bakery. After dinner I stopped in to grab my mom an oat bar since it's nice having a gluten-free treat available. After my 3 star review for lunch a few weeks ago, I made dinner reservations which I highly recommend since this place fills up fast! We lucked out & parked right in front. Place was already busy & buzzy with happy people. House bubbly water was bubbly! Service was unobtrusive & friendly. We sat at a corner booth near one of the entrances (fyi there are some on both sides of the building). Ordered a couple coffee drinks at a reasonable $7 each and they were perfectly prepared. Yes! For a starter we did truffle fries which were fresh crisp & not cooked in seed oil. That made me feel good about ordering something fried, lol. For our main we went with the Hawaiian pizza. Savory meats, fresh jalapeño with tidbits of pineapple on sourdough crust. My only wish was for a little more pineapple. Salmon was cooked to perfection. We had 3 cocktails each and tried most of their cocktail menu--we loved all our cocktails...some more than others. I was recently in Chandler for a work function with a group of 27 of us, and we were taken out as a large group to George & Gather on our first night. Upon our arrival, we were brought into a large room in the back set up for all of us in a big U-shape. The tables were set, and we quickly learned that we didn't need to place orders for our meals as appetizers, entrees, and desserts had been pre-ordered for the group with appetizers and entrees being served as family-style while the dessert would be plates of two options that we could select when they come out. We did have the opportunity to order drinks upon our arrival and throughout the evening. I started off by ordering a Curious, consisting of strawberry-Infused vodka, aperitivo, sparkling rosé, rhubarb, osmanthus flower, and lemon. It was a very tasty drink though probably too strong for me, but still fruity and sweet as I typically order cocktails. The appetizers were Wagyu Meatballs (with pomodoro, grana padano, basil, and local focaccia), Parmesan Truffle Fries (with truffle aioli, white truffle oil, grated parmesan, and chives), and Beet Salad (with organic arugula, organic mixed greens, roasted beets, oranges, Laura Chenel goat cheese, toasted pistachio, basil, and orange-balsamic vinaigrette). The entrees were the Carne Pizza (with spicy tomato sauce, mozzarella, Cup & Char pepperoni, Italian sausage, ricotta, and local raw honey), Rosemary Potato Pizza (with mozzarella, potato, red onion, gorgonzola, rosemary, and olive oil), and Roasted Organic Chicken (with Romesco sauce, fingerling potato, charred broccolini, and lemon-herb jus). The dessert was a choice between Honey Apricot Cheesecake or Flourless Chocolate Torte. I chose the Chocolate Torte. Everything was delicious though I stayed away from the Carne Pizza due to its spiciness. George & Gather wants customers to feel that their food nourishes the body, sparks connection, and brings joy to every bite. It was delicious and great place to build community, so I would say they have been successful. There was a great vibe to the restaurant, and if it wasn't so far of a drive for me, I'd go back probably rather regularly. Can't believe I haven't left a review yet! I've been here three times now and every visit has been great. The pizza is great, the treats are yummy, and drinks are good too. I have also been here once for breakfast and had a parfait with lemon curd in it and it was very good. I love the interior as well, and that the bakery/cafe/to-go side is separate from the dining area. I also love the cute products and gift type items available in the little section in between the two larger spaces. I wish I lived closer to downtown chandler, I would be here more often. After our visit I promptly removed this place from my bookmarks. Disappointing from the moment I spoke with the hostess. We had been put on a wait list shortly before I arrived. When I arrived and spoke with spouse he had already been waiting 20+ minutes. When I checked in with hostess to see if there had been any changes I was promptly schooled that "he was told "XYZ" and there's one table ahead of us still... I disregarded that vibe, figured because it was "busy" or because it was "Saturday evening" and everywhere is busy... From seating and neglecting to ask about seating preference (could there have been a shorter wait?), initial greeting by server, or was it a bus boy?, beverage order and wait for food. Couldn't even get a full glass of water poured or full carafe brought to the table while we waited for service. It was all very disappointing and I feel completely led astray by the ratings and reviews. I truly can not believe we waited 1 1/2 hrs just to be seated so we could eat pizza. Oh, but wait! It's pizza on 130 year old sourdough yeast?! Whatever. The pizza was alright, but the entire experience certainly didn't improve the taste of the pizza. Tourist trap? Maybe. Trendy? Because it's located in downtown Chandler? And then there's the parking scenario. If you're staying at the San Marcos or the other hotel downtown, walking here will be quicker than trying to find a parking spot. Carpool would be my other suggestion because parking really is a premium. And I want to add, the hostess never came to let us know a table was ready. We were only offered a table when my son went in to check the status. Only then did he get asked if we would be open to outdoor seating. Maybe Brunch has something more to offer. IDK. I had decided to try this fairly new restaurant on a Sunday night and they were pretty full. I saw they they boasted about a 130-year-old sourdough starter they use in their pizza so I decided to get a pepperoni pizza and their 'lucas' cocktail. The pizza was quite good. It was my first time trying a pizza made with a sourdough starter so I was expecting the crust to have a more sour taste like a loaf of sourdough bread. While that was not the case, it still had a good flavor and an excellently chewy texture. They were also quite generous with the pepperoni which is always a plus! This was an overall great experience in each category. There were 4 in our party. Fun fact, one in our party is a "Fuel Girl" who is a fire performer who performs all over the world (we saw her live in London, amazing), another is an ex-MMA fighter. Nicest people in the world! We had a 7:15pm reservation and just waited a few minutes for our table upon arrival. *Service: our server, Marko, was fantastic, the perfect combination of friendly and genuinely caring. Local guy who knows the area well, attentive without hovering, and always seemed to show up at exactly the right moment. The double patty burger was thick, juicy, and loaded with rich, creamy cheese on a buttered, grilled bun. It had a delicious pickled element that gave every bite a pop. Fries were crispy on the outside and soft and steamy inside. Their ranch dressing for dipping is outstanding. I just wish the portion of fries was bigger. The short ribs were deep, bold, tender, full of flavor and memorable. *Ambiance: there are several entrances, we accidentally came in a back, or maybe side, door and worked our way to the NW front corner to the hostess stand, next to the bar and a great outdoor patio with heater and couches, very comfy looking. Inside is cozy and comfortable, with warm medium brown wood everywhere, but it doesn't feel dark or heavy. It has this soft, inviting lighting (tons of little lights everywhere) that wraps the space like a gentle warm blanket. George and Gather has become one of my favorite lunch, dinner or brunch spots now. The ambiance and the aesthetic in this place makes it a perfect back drop. I always have to get the Earl Grey Latte - it's SOO GOOD and I always want 10 more after I down one. I also love their sourdough pizzas, especially the Pesto Chicken. The Whipped Goat Cheese spread is great to share with the table. They also sell cute stuff at their attached cafe. You can get more pastries and drinks there as well. read more

Very beautiful spot, I'd come here to hang out, chat, and take pictures. The coffee is amazing! Definitely a place to debrief with friends. The goat cheese board was surprisingly very flavorful! A little of the spread goes a LONG way, we ended up getting more bread to finish up the spread. The fries were not my favorite type, but if you like crispy but airy fries then no worries. It comes with a mustardy mayonnaise aioli-like sauce. Service was attentive and friendly yet efficient. Will be back. read more

What a great spot kinda off the Chandler main drag (Arizona). Plenty of parking in front on street and in back dedicated parking lot. Front door is actually around back. Enter through the large, thoughtfully designed patio that has a great waiting area for the restaurant at one end. Very comfortable. Was doing a brisk lunch business the day I was there. I would definitely recommend a reservation for either lunch or dinner. We were greeted and sat at our table outside right away. Within two or three minutes, someone came by with water and told us our server would be right out and whether they could take any drink orders for us. They have a nice little coffee menu so we ordered a cinnamon latte and a protein Cold brew. Both were outstanding When the server came out shortly thereafter we ordered Our appetizers, a goat cheese, and apricot mixture with fresh baked sourdough made at the restaurant. For entrees we went with the Italian Chop salad with added grilled salmon. One of best, authentic Italian chopped salads I've had and salmon was perfectly cooked. We also tried the prosciutto and arugula sandwich on that house made sourdough. Both plates cleaned completely. Was so comfortable, stayed for dessert, a moist orange olive oil cake with berries and an amazing, dense 3 layer carrot cake. Our service was outstanding.
