George and Gather has been high on my list to check out, since opening one year ago! I've heard nothing but positive things about this place and now I understand why! There is a parking lot and indoor/outdoor seating. I love the decor and ambiance of this place, especially the lighting in the dining room. They have a separate area with a small shop and cafe with desserts and some grab and go items. I will be back to try a coffee! My friend and I came here for the pre-set restaurant week menu. I made a reservation the night before, but it wasn't too busy while we were there on a Tuesday at 530pm. Our server Allison was great and very attentive. For appetizers we tried the whipped goat cheese spread and wagyu meatballs. I thought the goat cheese spread was delicious! For entrees we choose the pasta pomodoro and the farmers market pizza which were both very tasty. The pizza had so much flavor l, especially the crust, and the texture of the pasta was perfect!! For dessert we tried the affogato and apricot cheesecake. Oh My Gosh that cheesecake was the BEST dessert I've had in a while!!!! You have to try it and I can't recommend it enough!!!! After our visit I promptly removed this place from my bookmarks. Disappointing from the moment I spoke with the hostess. We had been put on a wait list shortly before I arrived. When I arrived and spoke with spouse he had already been waiting 20+ minutes. When I checked in with hostess to see if there had been any changes I was promptly schooled that "he was told "XYZ" and there's one table ahead of us still... I disregarded that vibe, figured because it was "busy" or because it was "Saturday evening" and everywhere is busy... I felt the senior hostess was curt when I inquired about the status of our wait, so I tried to brush it off. Just inefficient all the way around. From seating and neglecting to ask about seating preference (could there have been a shorter wait?), initial greeting by server, or was it a bus boy?, beverage order and wait for food. Couldn't even get a full glass of water poured or full carafe brought to the table while we waited for service. It was all very disappointing and I feel completely led astray by the ratings and reviews. I truly can not believe we waited 1 1/2 hrs just to be seated so we could eat pizza. Oh, but wait! It's pizza on 130 year old sourdough yeast?! Whatever. The pizza was alright, but the entire experience certainly didn't improve the taste of the pizza. Tourist trap? Maybe. Trendy? Because it's located in downtown Chandler? And then there's the parking scenario. If you're staying at the San Marcos or the other hotel downtown, walking here will be quicker than trying to find a parking spot. Carpool would be my other suggestion because parking really is a premium. And I want to add, the hostess never came to let us know a table was ready. We were only offered a table when my son went in to check the status. Only then did he get asked if we would be open to outdoor seating. Maybe Brunch has something more to offer. IDK. Came here for date night and was not disappointed! I had read great things online and was excited to see they offered gluten-free options. We ordered the pepperoni pizza on cauliflower crust, drinks, and the parmesan truffle fries... everything was delicious. One thing I really loved was the attached bakery. After dinner I stopped in to grab my mom an oat bar since it's nice having a gluten-free treat available. After my 3 star review for lunch a few weeks ago, I made dinner reservations which I highly recommend since this place fills up fast! We lucked out & parked right in front. Place was already busy & buzzy with happy people. House bubbly water was bubbly! Service was unobtrusive & friendly. We sat at a corner booth near one of the entrances (fyi there are some on both sides of the building). Ordered a couple coffee drinks at a reasonable $7 each and they were perfectly prepared. Yes! For a starter we did truffle fries which were fresh crisp & not cooked in seed oil. That made me feel good about ordering something fried, lol. For our main we went with the Hawaiian pizza. Savory meats, fresh jalapeño with tidbits of pineapple on sourdough crust. My only wish was for a little more pineapple. Only downside was that the door we sat by kept getting left open by customers and it took a long while before a staff member closed it. All in all, it was a good time & good value. I had decided to try this fairly new restaurant on a Sunday night and they were pretty full. I saw they they boasted about a 130-year-old sourdough starter they use in their pizza so I decided to get a pepperoni pizza and their 'lucas' cocktail. The pizza was quite good. It was my first time trying a pizza made with a sourdough starter so I was expecting the crust to have a more sour taste like a loaf of sourdough bread. While that was not the case, it still had a good flavor and an excellently chewy texture. They were also quite generous with the pepperoni which is always a plus! My only real complaint -- and it's a notable one -- is the way happy hour is restricted to certain seating areas. If you sit at a shared table, you can take advantage of happy hour pricing, but if you choose the patio, you miss out. That might make sense if there's a lineup out the door, but that wasn't the case. From experience, this kind of setup feels like a misstep and something that should be reconsidered. Within two or three minutes, someone came by with water and told us our server would be right out and whether they could take any drink orders for us. Both were outstanding When the server came out shortly thereafter we ordered Our appetizers, a goat cheese, and apricot mixture with fresh baked sourdough made at the restaurant. For entrees we went with the Italian Chop salad with added grilled salmon. One of best, authentic Italian chopped salads I've had and salmon was perfectly cooked. Fun fact, one in our party is a "Fuel Girl" who is a fire performer who performs all over the world (we saw her live in London, amazing), another is an ex-MMA fighter. Nicest people in the world! Stopped by at 1pm on a Friday with a reservation for 12 for a late bday lunch. The main dining area was not large enough to accommodate us all, so they moved us into the private room (could fit up to ~25-30). Private room was much quieter. Goat cheese came with VERY (almost too) toasted bread. Good flavor and very pretty. Dates were my fave, great combo of sweet and salty. I ordered the G&G burger with fries. The burger had two patties, topped with an overly-generous layer of this yellow pickled veggie. Burger was very juicy, and the (Noble) bun was great to sop up the juices. Fries were crispy, some VERY crispy, but nicely seasoned. Only gripe was felt a little overpriced at $23. Our waiter highly recommended the cheesecake, which he was absolutely right to do so. It's a hefty $15 slice, very splittable between 2 ppl. It comes with a thick layer of vanilla bean whipped cream, which went great with the creamy cheesecake. Tasty food, great atmosphere, attentive + friendly staff, but wish the portions were a little bigger. Really loved the ambiance during the day in the main dining area, which was splashed with sun. The entire staff team is excellent. We had quite a few folks stop by to check in on us (other than our waitress). Off the lunch menu I had the chicken pesto sandwich with some truffle fries. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a lovely outdoor dining area, though we chose to sit at the bar since we didn't have a reservation. We were warmly welcomed right away and quickly given menus. I ordered the seasonal coconut ube latte (half sweet), which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the traditional breakfast, and I went with the avocado toast topped with two eggs--everything came out perfectly prepared and tasted amazing.
