    Salmon Sandwich

Palo Verde restaurant has a good staff and great view if you know somebody who is a resident. They have a number of different specials such as bbq, pizza, and lobster night that are a particularly good deal. We recently went for dinner and brought my young son who really enjoyed the make your own pizza. I had the salmon sandwich and my wife had the ribeye which she really enjoyed. They had a great drink menu too and awesome views. Food was pretty good along with the service, but the views and menu variety were great.

My first choice for dinner when I want to impress visiting friends or celebrate a happy occasion. A table on the patio overlooking the golf course is the most comfortable place I can think of when it comes to restaurant dining.

We came for Thursday night happy hour and stayed to listen to the band. Marble Heart Trio was fantastic! I also appreciated that the music wasn't so loud that we couldn't carry on a conversation. A huge plus. Since it was our first time here, we decided to share several appetizers. Every single one was delicious! We ordered the loaded mashed potatoes, grilled shrimp skewers, the beer cheese pretzel board, and the Angus beef sliders with shoestring fries. Everything was perfect for sharing, and we finished every bite. The service was excellent, and we really enjoyed the overall atmosphere. We're already looking forward to coming back to try more items on the menu. If you're looking for great food, attentive service, and live music in a relaxed setting, I highly recommend giving Cork & Craft a try.

If you like an Old Fashioned, they have the best one I have ever had. $18 but amazing! It was a beautiful evening and the doors & windows were open so all could enjoy it! We shared three different items and we both enjoyed them all. My complaint is the table and chairs. Both were leaning about 1-1/2" so we had to put our weight on them to level them. Also the chairs we were on had a weird slope that makes you slide out of them. Fix these and easily a 5 star rating.

Since it's a burger joint, Hubs ordered the Balboa and I ordered the Yeti. Wow! My burger was to die for. The rosemary goat cheese with bacon jam was the perfect combo of tangy and sweet! Hubs was eating his burger without any complaints which is what you want. Both of us went with the hand cut fries. Crispy and very good! We can't wait to return. This place is legit!

We asked if they could turn on the sound for the World Cup and they were more than willing to accommodate. I thought the Balboa burger was very good and I would have enjoyed the gas lamp burger better if the red pepper didn't keep slipping out. They don't charge you if you change fries for tots or even your burger patty for a chicken or turkey patty, which is really nice. Lowlights: I'm a big french fry eater and I didn't really like the fries here I found them too soft. The majority of their tables inside are barstools, which is a bit uncomfortable for me personally.

My mom and I eat breakfast here almost every Saturday morning while my dad attends a nearby Bible study. We eat great food, drink lovely coffee (Buzzed Goat's cold brew? Yes, please), and play board games. Our favorite dishes include the Benny and the Jets, the Bourdain (with a runny egg, just as he would have wanted it), the Avocado Toast, the Slow Ride, and the breakfast burrito. Their smashed potatoes is a religious moment, and their pickled onions will inspire you to make you own. The Morning Board, one of their more unique offerings, is great to share if you have a larger group. And the service? We had played Scrabble one morning, and then went on vacation, missing a couple Saturdays. The next Saturday morning we walked in the doors, one of the lovely servers ran up to us with a Scrabble letter we had unknowingly dropped three weeks prior. She helped save the integrity of our Scrabble game and we are eternally grateful. Everyone who works there is wonderful and so friendly. We've had lovely conversations with many of the servers, as well as one charming member of the kitchen staff who was particular proud of that morning's hollandaise (as he should be). The atmosphere is homey and comfortable. The place radiates "local gem", from the small vendors you can buy from (they have shelves with lots of fun items for purchase) to the tiny library you can borrow or add to (we've done both) to the thoughtful music artist montage on the wall (can you name all the artists? It's harder than you think!). The music is a perfect vibe - loud enough to enjoy and groove to, but not too loud you can't hear the people you're with. So put on your favorite concert tee and check it out!

Stopped in lunch for me breakfast for the hubby. Husband enjoyed his breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. Although it did seem sort of a small order. I decided to try a hamburger for lunch. The onion rings were really, really good! I didn't take a great shot of this but the burger I ordered medium well and it was completely charcoal black and hard on one side. I ended up eating only 1/4 of the burger and a few of the onion rings. It wasn't terrible, but the burger really wasn't very good. I should've probably looked at it and sent it back, but I hate sending food back. What kind of bothers me is the server looked directly at my plate that I had pushed to the edge of the table for pick up. Saw I didn't eat but a quarter of the burger and still had quite a fewof the onion rings left and didn't ask how I liked it. Clearly he noticed the plate but yet doesn't ask if I wanted to go box or if I liked it. I guess I sort of expect anywhere I eat that they'll come by and ask if I need anything else or if I enjoyed it or not. I wasn't going to ask for my money back, but I still would've liked to have been asked when I hadn't eaten 80% of the meal if everything was OK. I'll give it another try but I probably won't be having a burger.

And one order of nachos with blackened chicken. And an order of buffalo shrimp. My husband and I love shrimp and we have never seen buffalo shrimp. I liked the ones with the ground beef Best. And my boys and husband loved the blackened chicken nachos. My four guys all had burgers and fries. No complaints and no leftovers. So I think that went good. I ordered the sirloin with the smashed red potatoes and Parmesan toast. I ate every bite of the steak. I couldn't finish the potatoes. I could tell you they tasted delicious though. Sadly, nowhere near our house or else we would go again and often. I only remembered to take one picture after I drained it in A1, which is my preference. But there's a picture. The staff were Uber friendly. Overall, we would definitely return. I only had one complaint. Do not get ice water. It was the most disgusting water I've ever tasted. I ended up asking for a bottle of water because I couldn't even sip the water after I even drowned it in lemon. They need to do something about that. It's gross.

My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story.
