    Thursday special: 3 pieces $4.99, sides, $1.25
    Ruby A.

Fried Chicken! Enough said right? I finally tried Krispy's Kajun Chicken, and I am soooooo glad I did. The owners, Shahnav and Riaz were former owners of Popeye's Chicken, and have been in the restaurant business for over 25 years! Shahnav is such a sweet lady, and I could see how hard working they are. Humble, appreciative, and so kind - they have definitely gained a new customer! Dine-in is not available right now, but the food was laid on a tray so I could take a video and pictures. I had to control myself to drive home slowly and safely! I arrived just when they opened, and had to wait about 15 minutes. No problem for me, because I knew I was going to get a fresh batch! The chicken pieces are large (no skinny pieces here)! The chicken was crispy, moist, flavorful, not too salty, or heavily battered. The fries and onion rings were perfect sides, and the biscuits, I have to say, are better than Popeye's. Thursday is my new favorite day! Daily specials are listed on their website, but today's goodies were the Thursday special, 3 pieces for $4.99, sides, $1.25 each. Happy to support local businesses :) Krispy's Kajun Chicken 4997 Hwy 7, Unionville, ON L3R 1N3 905-513-7558

This place is basically a cheaper version of Popeyes (probably since they don't have to pay franchise fees). Overall, this is a decent option if you're in the area. Had a 1 piece & shrimp dinner, Cajun Fries, Tenders & Coleslaw. The chicken (mild) was decently crispy & tasty, but the flavour did not penetrate very far into the flesh. The batter was not very thick (thinner than Popeyes), which some people may like. The tenders were not very crispy and were less crispy than average for tenders. Though I ordered them mild, the flavour was also mild (significantly milder than the chicken) - it was still alright, but robust-tasting seasoning (you know, like Kaju... err, I mean Cajun cooking is known for) is possible without spiciness. They also could be moister. The fries were slightly rawer & less seasoned than at Popeyes. The shrimp was overall decent in texture & taste, though at times it was slightly mushy (probably from the batter). Both shrimp & tenders were served with sweet & sour sauce, which was a little strange, though the sauce was ok. The coleslaw here looks rather ugly, probably since they don't throw in stuff to keep it fresh-looking, but it was somewhat refreshing and had some crispness. The biscuit was a little dry. It was crispy, which was odd. Nonetheless, it tasted pretty good and dryness aside the crumb was decent. Just like Popeyes, which they are apeing, they have daily specials (including weekends) & sides/drinks can be added on cheaply.

Krispy's Kajun Chicken is my favorite go-to, whenever I have a craving for fried chicken! The owners are incredibly friendly, and the chicken is fresh, crispy, juicy, and not too salty. The spicy version is my favorite. They have daily specials, with an option to add a side + drink to make it a combo. Monday: 3 piece tender $4.69 Tuesday: 2 piece $3.29 Wednesday: Chicken sandwich $4.69 Thursday: 3 piece $4.99 Friday: 5 wings $4.99 Saturday: Cajun poutine $3.99 Sunday: Two mini sandwiches $3.99 Side or drink - $1.25 * Prices confirmed as of July 1, 2021 * I prefer to support local family-owned businesses like this one!

I chose to give this restaurant by Markville Mall a try after a long day of shopping as I was tired and hungry! Overall, the spicy flavoured chicken was not spicy at all, but rather had a more distinct and strong flavour than the normal spiced flavour. So I would definitely get the spicy flavour next time, as the normal spiced chicken was not as flavourful. Regardless, the chicken was extremely juicy, and the chicken seemed to have a little Indian spice to it which I loved! The chicken was also fried when ordered, so it came out fresh and hot! The only downside is that the 'normal' spice level flavoured chicken did not taste as good, and that the side of mash potatoes were quite bland. I would also say that the Cajun fries could've totally had more of a kick to make it even tastier!

Markhams Own Fried Chicken Fiesta!!! Looking for an alternative to the mass-produced and genetically modified chicken from Corporate Chicken Joints? Look no further than Markham's own Krispys Kajun Chicken serving golden fried chicken, shrimp and amazing chicken sandwiches. Krispy's Kajun Chicken can go head to head with any chicken restaurant. Nestled in a plaza near Hwy 7 and McCowan Road, Krispy's has been serving cajun style marinated Halal chicken for over 20 Years. Always one of my goto's when I'm in the mood for that North American Southern Style Chicken. You can get Fried Chicken a la cart, individual meals and family packs to take home!! Fried Fish and Shrimp are on the menu as well!! Their sides include  Cajun Fries, Cajun Rice, good 'ole homemade mashed potatoes, fresh coleslaw, red beans and rice,  onion rings and corn on the cob and for the little ones they have kids meals and daily specials!! Don't wait another minute, check them out you won't regret it!!

I'm not okay with this. For years, I was able to avoid the lure of fried chicken. I just wasn't that into it. I never craved it like I craved other things. I had it maybe once a year, and only because someone brought it to a potluck or something. Recently there's been a shift in the tides. Within a month, I've gotten Krispy Kajun's twice. What is happening? It all started on Valentine's Day, when our ideas of a romantic gift to each other was to indulge in a food we never let ourselves indulge in. Fried chicken seemed like a reasonable choice. We'll just get the coleslaw to make ourselves feel like it's a balanced meal. "Hey, this place has good reviews and it's close by. Let's get take out! Oh great! 8 pieces with biscuits and a side for $20. Sure beats a steak dinner haha! Wow, this chicken sure is crispy. I never expected it to break apart all flaky like that. Damn that's good. The meat is so juicy too. Wasn't fried chicken always kinda dry? Damn, I don't remember fried chicken ever tasting like this". And with those thoughts, I was hooked. The next time we had a party, we ordered take out from Krispy's and everyone slid down the slippery slope with us. Along with the chicken, they serve biscuits and a bunch of sides (e.g. fries, mashed potatoes, onion rings, rice, corn). The cajun fries make a great companion to the fried chicken. To be fair to myself and my attempt at self control, I tried to order rotisserie chicken once. Krispy's advertised itself as doing both. It's still on their menus in the store AND online. But apparently, it's just a straight up fried chicken joint now. So, I guess there was no choice. Oh well. (16/100) - 2018

Chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. Amazing flavour wise. Fries were delicious, some of my favourite I've had, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with amazing Cajun flavour. only complaint, which brought down the quality of the whole meal, was the bun. It was hard and stale, as if it was several days old and had been left out in the open. Would order again just maybe not the burger. Additionally, really good for the price point.

Really really enjoyed the chicken here. Every piece was juicy and tender. Maybe my wife and I got lucky that day but we did not have a single piece of dry stringy chicken. I also love how they have daily deals. It kind of reminds me of mcdonald's good ol' days. Anyway, the place is quite small and only has a handful of tables. I assume people mostly take it as take out, so saving money on a smaller space is cool. I honestly will be visiting soon.. Can't get enough! I think the chicken here is better than Popeye's. Or maybe it's Popeye's inconsistencies in how much they need to make vs people coming to buy. Good bye Popeye's, I found a new coup lol

Went with girlfriend for a late afternoon fast-food around 3 pm. Spontaneously, I thought maybe we can have some fried chicken. I thought of Krispy chicken immediately. They had an advertisement for 7 pieces that's cost $13.99, very good price compare to Popeyes. They also allow you to have half spicy and half mildly spicy, I believe they also serve Halal chicken. The chicken did not disappoint, very crispy. Very delicious. I would have this everyday if it does not raise cholesterol levels, lol. This is a family run business, friendly service. The washroom needs some work.

Fried chicken was alright. It's salty though and same with the Cajun fries. It was too salty. I will stick to Popeyes.

We went for the lunch special and tried Original, Soy Garlic, and Spicy Butter Chicken, with fries tossed in Honey Butter seasoning for one of the sets. I had no idea what to expect walking in, and was honestly surprised to learn they use air fryers here. Now, taste-wise, let's be real. I've had better fried chicken elsewhere and yes, there are spots that push a bit more in quality. But here's the catch: at this price point, it's rather impossible to complain. Sure, the sauce toss was lazy, and a few bites were a bit on the funky-smelling side, but it all somehow landed within the range of "worth it." Fries were a lot crispier than expected, and so was the batter. Air fried or not, the texture really surprised me. It's weirdly satisfying. Getting into the place was also a bit awkward for a first-timer, but I'll chalk that up to the building's layout, not the restaurant's fault. Overall, it's one of those spots that feels like a random find, and turns out a lot better than you gave it credit for at first. No complaints here, and honestly hope they stick around. I wouldn't mind coming back when craving something easy and affordable that still hits the spot!

Well, things have changed. Pizza Hut takes up maybe a third of its old building. The other two-thirds is now this Church's chicken joint. I love Church's. Yes, its marketing tends to focus on its fried chicken, chicken tenders, and chicken sandwiches. I love everything. You know what my favourite item is at Church's? It has nothing to do with chicken. It's the honey butter biscuit. This biscuit is delicious. It's fluffy. It has a nice honey butter glaze on top that's crispy, slightly sweet, and perfect. I dropped by Church's first. It was nice seeing seating at this eatery. There were a few folks waiting for their food. I let a couple grab their food before I approached the counter. I saw the biscuits behind the friendly woman who said hi and asked how I was. My mouth was salivating. I felt bad for the pizza that I had ordered. I got three biscuits. I paid with a credit card. I tapped. Done! She grabbed three biscuits and put them in a paper bag. I thanked her and left with my goodies. I hit Pizza Hut before I put all my food in an insulated bag for pizza. I then headed home. I had a honey butter biscuit straight out of the bag. It was still hot. It was so good. Oh, how I have missed how fluffy and yummy this biscuit is! A seasonal item on Church's menu is a sundae that has a biscuit in it. I haven't had it, but I want to make my own at home. Let's see if I can make one before I devour the other two biscuits. I liked visiting this Church's. It is the closest one to my home. I'll be back soon! (92)

A Harvey's angus burger with some onion rings + some Church's bone-in chicken with some of their biscuits. THAT WAS IT FOLKS. So sad that the joint venture doesn't exist anymore. While their signature chicken is good, my claim (bold but not controversial) is that the honey butter biscuits are better than their chicken. In fact, I think the biscuits at Church's are the best fast food biscuits in the game right now. Super fluffy and moist on the inside but with the crispy, sweet exterior. Popeye's could never w/ their biscuits. The one thing I think Church's has them beat on is the biscuits. I've also tried the jalapeno bombers and they're just mid imo. But surprisingly, the mashed potatoes w/ gravy was actually not bad! Definitely not beating the gravy over at Mary Brown's though.

The only thing was that the batter was thin so the sauce made the chicken a little soggy, which was a slight turn off. The so-dukk was a bit on the dry side, the rice cakes were over fried and chewy. Also seemed like they just used regular hot dogs. There was very little sauce in it so it wasnt that great to eat.
