Sharon Mead, the owner of Decorative Design Interiors is a fabulous interior designer to work with…read more She is extremely knowledgeable in her field, very patient, and possesses the ability to gently lead you in the design direction your mind envisions but your tongue cannot articulate. We built a house 20 years ago, always with the intent of bringing in a designer to help us decorate. However, as life goes, it was long after building the home that I finally met Sharon and began to work with her to bring my mind's vision into reality for our home. Sharon decorated our home with custom-made window treatments and blinds, hand-picked furniture fabric, complementing pillow coverings and paint colors throughout. When everything was completed, I truly felt as if we were living in a model home as Sharon's decorative input and design were that exquisite. She is great at what she does and I would surely rate her a 5-Star+ if I were able to do so. I would hire Sharon for any home decorating project that I needed done. Don't hesitate--she is that good!! I must also take a moment to mention the quality work done by Sharon's husband, Gerry. Gerry installed our window treatments with impeccable precision and quality. They looked perfect. When we recently relocated, Gerry removed all of the window treatments and professionally wrapped and packed them for us so they would weather a cross-country move in the same condition and quality with which they were made. We would sincerely like to thank Sharon and Gerry for making our house a beautiful place to live and entertain. Dolly T.

If I could give Elaine a less than 1 star review, I would. I hired Elaine for her advertised…read moreknowledge of practical living advice. Having visited my home, she was well aware of my specific needs. I show and breed Maine Coon Cats and as such needed suitable solutions for furnishings and products that would be durable. Basically she functioned as a middleman and or a home advisor by recommending individuals and or companies to complete jobs. Time has proven that she recommended products that were not suitable for my needs and suggested companies/workers who performed inadequately. The most costly advice she gave me was to install laminate flooring. She was well aware that my needs required a waterproof floor and stated that the laminate flooring (near the top of the line) was appropriate. Time has proven that it is not. I have numerous buckles ,and unjoinedspars between the seams of the planks. Recently I had a drip from a ceiling vent which completely buckled the entire kitchen floor. I have come to learn that laminate flooring of the type she recommended is not at all appropriate for a kitchen. She advised, for the sake of visual uniformity, that it be installed throughout the entire first floor including the kitchen. Now, some 9 years later, it needs to be replaced so the entire first floor (kitchen, dining room, living room and foyer) as well as the stairs and upstairs landing needs to replaced as it is one continuous area. The company recommended by her, Hewlett Flooring, has gone out of business. In fact, my floor was the last job that they completed. During the installation, they caused much damage. Careless workers bashed in the bottom draw on the stove, glass tops on the bedroom furniture were broken, molding was ripped and dry wall damaged. She was not willing to deal with Hewlett Flooring to make repairs. Custom cut area rugs were ordered according to her measurements and did not fit correctly. I assumed the charge for recutting and rebinding. The area rugs themselves were looped carpet and totally unsuitable for my cats with their claws as they repeatedly got caught on the loops. The one plus in working with her was the general contractor she suggested, Richard Stevenson, who has successfully and creatively completed a variety of numerous jobs around my house. I cannot begin to say enough good about him and his work. To this day he is one of the only workers I am willing to have work on my house.

Container Store has long been on my bucket list (strange bucket list, huh?) of places I want to go…read more I've often seen them featured on the many home decorating shows I watch and long for more organization in my life. Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit (couldn't check in due to app problems) while hitting up my favorite eatery. I was hoping to gain inspiration, and find creative ways and ideas for dealing with all the stuff I own. I came prepared ready to purchase, armed with measurements, and my own tape measurement. Hubby was along for the ride, reluctantly, but was to be my voice of expertise as I'm the planner and project manager but he has to ultimately execute my ideas. There were a few projects in my home I wanted to tackle and fully expected to leave with a several purchases. However I left empty handed. While the store is nice and large and does have an assortment of storage ideas for every item imaginable it lacked creativity. I didn't find inspiration or any ideas that I haven't already thought of myself. All I discovered were tons of people (and hard to social distance in some isles) and rows and rows of overpriced plastic goods. The custom closet department especially was crowded and the floor displays had price tags that matched buying a used car. I see no reason to come here vs Ikea, which has similar displays and custom services, and the same particleboard quality. Makes me wonder do Container Store customers have no idea that Dollar Tree and Dollar Generals exist? Even Walmart, Target, and any big box retailer sells pretty much the same plastic bins at a fraction of the cost. I still can't get over their prices. I expected to be wowed, but left disappointed. One thing I do know, it's not even a challenge to replicate their storage solutions by visiting a dollar store. It's elementary!
