I absolutely loved working with Meredith, our designer. She was personable, totally helped me make tough decisions, and was someone I felt like I could trust with this big spend for a kitchen, half bath, and downstairs flooring renovation that involved some incredible improvements in our layout. The only reason they missed me with the fifth star is honestly the project manager. He wasn't just a little bad. Like, ok you left a stack of grout bags in front of our backdoor. Annoying. But when he turned on our gas line when he was asked to turn on our water line, I think that did it. Poor Meredith had to be the communication channel for some frustrations we had along the way. She did a really good job of managing that. I wish there had been more accountability to Ferris when they finally removed him from our renovation basically at the end. I would use Meredith and so many of the people that work for Ferris again with nothing but confidence again if I could guarantee a few things would be different that would change the whole of the experience. read more

Love our New Bathroom This is our second project with Ferris. Our first was a major renovation four years ago of our kitchen and most of our downstairs (moving walls, adding/removing doorways, all new flooring throughout). After a few hiccups, our bathroom is exactly as we'd hoped. Emily was a dream to work with on this project just as she was on our kitchen, and our installer, Glen is a perfectionist who made sure we were happy with every aspect of the project he handled. We've referred Ferris to friends who are also using them for home projects. Great job from start to finish. We got a few estimates for a new roof. Ferris' quote was competitive, and their excellent warranty and reviews tipped the scales in their favor. Matt's estimate was thorough and complete - talking us through the whole process. Scheduling with Whitley was easy, and she answered our follow-up questions quickly. Getting a new roof is a complicated, loud, and messy process. Ryan and the crew did everything to make the 2-day project as easy as possible. I was especially amazed at the workers. They worked the entire time, exclusively focused on the job at hand - no wasted time. If you told me that getting a new roof would be easy I would call you a liar. Now, here I am, telling you that's true with Ferris Home Improvements! Mike Lashbrook was amazing. He had samples of all the products in a bag and showed them to me as he explained the process. This was the third company I had out for a quote. Nobody else went into the details that Mike did. He told us what we needed, and even what we didn't need. Seeing the products really helped me to understand the big picture. He provided me with a quote before he left my house. The other companies took up to a week to get us a quote. I could tell that he was a real person telling me what my home needed. The Field Supervisor Adam Boyle called me the day before to make sure we were aligned on everything. His crew of five worked hard on a hot summer's day and still managed to get my roof completed in one day. I couldn't believe what they managed to accomplish! The roof looks fantastic! Adam took the time to go over the process and answer the couple of questions that I had regarding the installation. He also made sure to tell his crew to take frequent breaks and stay hydrated during the day. I appreciated how much he was looking out for his coworkers. By the end of the day, my yard looked even better than it did before they replaced the roof. Cleanup was phenomenal! I learned that getting quotes for a roof is not like comparing apples to apples. Some people wanted to sell me extra products. Others wanted to use cheaper materials. Ferris was the only company to offer me a shingle with a 50 years warranty AND guarantee their work for 50 years. The other companies would only guarantee their work for 15-25 years. When making this big of an investment, it was good to work with a company that I could actually trust. My only mistake was not calling Ferris Home Improvements first! They are a top-class company and I would recommend them to anyone. They got me on the schedule quickly, did the job great, and had fantastic customer service. read more

I gave Ferris 2 stars because ultimately I'm very pleased with my new bathroom, but I feel like that has little to do with them. If you decide to work with Ferris you need to understand their strategy. They'll help you plan your project, they'll sell you materials for your project, they'll schedule subcontractors to perform the work, they'll deliver the materials and then they'll step away, crossing their fingers and hoping that everything goes smoothly. Subcontractor after subcontractor will come to your home, with only these "plans" from Ferris to guide them. A number of them didn't speak English. I don't care about that, some of them did great work (looking at you tile guys) but you can't communicate with them and there's nobody there to act as an intermediary. Not that my "project manager" would have helped, he only spoke English as well. As the problems mounted with my project, including a collapse of the materials in my garage that resulted in damage to several pieces of quartz, Ferris remained absent. When I complained to my "project manager," his response was that he had 10 other projects with problems and he couldn't spend his time at my home. Clearly, I was spoiled by a previous remodeler who actually employed some contractors and actually managed the project from start to finish. So, beyond the garage fiasco, there was also the error in the plans that had the carpenter hang the mirrors with the top of the mirror about 5'11" from the ground (I'm 6'3"). There was no coverings for the floor, including the new carpet in my bedroom. The expectation was that each subcontractor would lay something down. They didn't. Then, when I asked for something they put down this heavy paper, which was fine, but there wasn't quite enough, so they put down this adhesive plastic over a piece of the new carpet. Not sure I've got the adhesive off the carpet yet. During demolition, some items weren't removed and so when the drywall guy came, he also left them (towel bar, toilet paper holder) and he patched all the other holes. Guess who had to remove them so that the holes could get patched? During demolition, all the lighting was removed from the bathroom. This information wasn't conveyed to the next subcontractor (painter) had no light to work and hadn't brought one. Ferris was unaware because, of course, they hadn't been there. So, more than half a day was lost while we waited for Ferris to bring over some lighting. I was more the project manager than anyone at Ferris. I did much more work (and worrying) about this project than anyone at Ferris. And my project that was scheduled for 4 weeks? 3 months. Ferris' response to my complaints? Every project has some finishing items that needs to be resolved. Finishing? I didn't have a shower for 3 months, that doesn't seem like a finishing item. And who ended up cleaning the new bathroom? I'll give you one guess. read more

This place is a joke and pays Yelp to remove negative reviews (yes you can do that). Take your hard earned money elsewhere. Called for a quote for my flooring and bathroom. I received 3 different quotes prior for the flooring (less than 18 by 25 feet area). Three other businesses quoted between $3000-3500. Ferris? Quoted me 3 times that $9000 and never even emailed the quote as promised. I was told without even looking at my bathroom (tiny 5 by 7 ft) quoted $18000.. read more

So let's talk about Ferris. I had a roofing job performed by them. This included shingles for my home and shed , insulation and attic fan. The salesman was fantastic! I was promised great product, friendly service at a fair price. I'm sold. And then came installation day. Good product not so good service ~5 Russian roofers showed up 4 out of 5 spoke no English, the other one barely. They smoked on my property, I'm a non smoker. They did not do all the work in the contract, one of the workers left his dirty fingerprints on my glass screen door and clean up was less than stellar. I informed management and was eventually compensated on my bill. What a shame. Ferris sales great products but horrible "in field " customer service. They just need to educate the workers on how to respect ones home. If not for this .. 5 stars!! read more

We needed to replace a window at our home. Ferris was excellent throughout the process. The estimator arrived on time and by that afternoon we had a price for the job. The price was reasonable and the process for ordering the window was straightforward. The installer came exactly on time and within two hours the job was completely done. The installer was Jim. He was excellent. He left the house spotless and the new window looks like the original with the outside siding placed back perfectly (and the window was well flashed) and from the inside of the room the frame was perfect too. If you need any repairs to your home I highly Recommed these folks. If possible ask for Jimmy as your installer. read more

I was in the market to have a full hall bathroom remodeled (standing shower, vanity, sub floor, tiling. Off the bat we were told a renovation was typically around $18k. Okay fine I assumed they were trying to price anchor us then provide a discount once they came onsite. The first red flag was when I asked about average cost per square foot. This seemed like a straight forward question but the woman would not provide a number. Again, fine let's see what happens when she comes onsite. I initially scheduled an onsite consultation with a designer an when I called to reschedule she didn't recall making the appointment. Hmm okay. We reacheudle an and day-of she shows up 30 minutes late. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. She took a look at the bathroom and quickly quoted $15k. Huh, $3k discount off the bat. It felt a bit premature since were not asked what we wanted, types of features, options etc. Kinda like she licked her finger an put it to the wind. Overall the customer experience for such a large spend was a real turn off. Especially after we told them how bad of an experience we had with a prior contractor. read more

Was extremely happy from sales pitch to completion of replacing our roof. Sam explained roofs and what problems we were having during initial visit and we signed contract. They provided all the information our HOA required in a timely fashion. They showed up when they said they would. Adam, the project manager called and showed up on site to discuss with us the schedule and answered any questions we had. The workers were efficient and wasted no time in replacing the roof. Adam came back and them walked site with us explaining what was done and provided pictures of the roof. Wind storm blew of some roof shingles. Ferris service rep did a great work, explained the job, fast, and efficient.

Our bathroom needed a complete overhaul. After meeting with Tina in their sales department and going over what we wanted and deciding on everything it was easy street. Their installer Chuck made everything go perfectly smooth. When small issues arose Chuck and Dan the project manager were immediately on top of the situation to get it corrected. They left the house clean and ensured that the bathroom was sealed up when they left to prevent our dog from going in and getting hurt. They always treated our house like their own. When the plumbing sub-contractor left a bit of a mess we let Dan know about it and he came out and spent an hour on his knees scrubbing the floor. This went far beyond what I expected and was very happy with the attention to detail and to ensure that any concerns were addressed. After everything was done there was some cracking around the calking of the tub caused by some flexing and settling due to being an older house. We contacted Chuck and Dan and they came out and removed and put a more flexible calk in place no questions asked. Ferris was able to take our least favorite room of the house and turn into an amazing looking room that is both more functional and much easier to look at. No more 70's tile and old crumbling plaster!! Although Ferris is not the cheapest guys in town you will be happy that you spent the little extra to get the level of quality and service that they provide. Dee, our kitchen guide and guru of design, helped us decide on the details by listening to what we wanted and making pertinent suggestions. She was with us from start to finish and took care to pay attention to the details. The plans were drawn up so that we could understand and visualize the final product, the process and the schedule. The craftsmen showed up on time following the schedule that was laid out to a T, worked efficiently and took care to clean up at the end of the day. The project manager, Dan, kept in touch with us during the month it took to complete our kitchen, keeping us informed. I had an appointment scheduled for today, 12/23/2020 from 3PM-4PM to have my roof repaired as I am experiencing a leak in one of my bedrooms. I went out for a doctors appointment and got to my home around 2:40PM and actually saw the Ferris Home Improvement truck sitting right across the street from my house. I tried peeking through the truck window but couldn't see if anyone was in the truck. I even waited a couple of minutes before entering my home to see if I would catch the driver's attention but no one appeared to even be in the truck and I figured it was still early so he would probably call to alert me when he was ready to come in. So then around 3:15PM I actually saw that the truck had pulled off so I was hoping that maybe he just stepped away for a min to grab a bite to eat and come back but nope. I called Ferris customer service/ dispatch at 3:30PM to see what happened to the contractor and she stated that the contractor had gotten to my home early at about 1:50PM and had called me but I didn't answer. Now I had my phone on me all day because I knew that I had a scheduled appointment and have been looking forward to it as the leak is driving me crazy. NO CALL WAS MADE. The customer service rep told me that he was too far up 95 to turn back around as it would then be too dark to view my roof. The rep I spoke with, Deborah was really nice though and offered another appointment but i declined as I don't have time to play games. I believe the contractor just didn't want to go on my roof as I am in a row home and it has a lot of steps so he may have been afraid LOL idk but definitely not using this company, worst experience I've ever had with a contractor thus far. read more

We chose a textured tile, something that was new to their showroom , and the installer had difficulty with the job. I showed the manager the flaws and he ordered a "redo," no questions asked. I have had other company's come out to do an estimate who knew what they were talking about, these guys did not seem to know. Think twice. Then think again. They do not stand behind their work. I had windows replaced and one developed a stress fracture within weeks. I was told it would take two weeks for replacement. I had to make numerous inquiries as to progress over the next month and a half. They ended up getting the replacement at a local window company the morning of the install but neglected to get tinting on window. They installed it anyway. We recently had 2 bathrooms remodeled, a front door replaced and a kitchen door replaced by Ferris Home Improvements. Overall it was an excellent experience. The Sales people were incredibly knowledgeable and did a great job making our vision come to fruition. Meredith led the bathroom design and Joe led the bathroom execution. From start to finish they were very hands on and attentive, ensuring the work moved along appropriately with any issues being addressed and resolved quickly . The contractors and installers for all of the projects were experts in their fields and performed their work with the upmost professionalism and a "high quality" attention to detail. The bathroom remodeling project has not been quality. They damaged hardwood, stairs, new banister and walls. They left doors and walls dirty. They come back over and over and the project is still not done after months. We have no confidence in their quality of workmanship. I would not recommend them and they are overpriced. Very pleased with the end result of recent work. It was very difficult to find contractor in the area that would take our money -- surprisingly -- after coming to the house and never delivering with scope of work contract. When we approached Ferris, we found the experience to be friendly and efficient. The project stayed on budget, and the staff were all pleasant. The workers on site were very respectful and self sufficient. The project was supposed to go Wednesday - Friday, but ended up concluding on the following Wednesday. There were some lapses in communication about if/when workers would be coming that day, but nothing too bad. Ryan, the field supervisor, was super helpful and responsive and was able to quickly get answers to all of our questions. I hope to utilize Ferris for future projects. read more

Called them from a Google search to replace a broken glass in a newish vinyl double glazed window, about 1'x4'. Estimate was $779, which seemed high, but then they said the whole window would run almost $3000. I paid the $243 deposit for them to order the glass. Called my insurance company, and they just about died. They gave me a glass contractor who did the work for $175. Ferris wouldn't refund any of my deposit, even though the glass probably cost them $50 at most. Rip off. Paid more than the job cost, and got nothing. read more

Beware! They are liars and deceivers! I requested them to do an estimate on a roof repair for leaks. Their technician came out to do the estimate. He showed me images of the roof where the repairs were required. One particular image showed there were actually holes in my roof. We knew it would rain again prior to hiring them to do the job so we climbed onto the roof to try to cover the holes until we could get it repaired and discovered that the images which were shown to us was NOT OUR ROOF! I contacted the office to notify them of this expecting they would send someone to double check but instead, the supervisor and the technician banned together to try to convince us it was a location under our siding, but this was still a lie. That image does not match anywhere on my house! Beware! DO NOT TRUST THEM! read more

Ferris replaced 6 windows on the 3rd floor of my home. Over the course of several months, I noticed a leak in the ceiling of my second floor bedroom. When I asked the company to look at the 2 front windows, they told me that the windows should have been capped. The company rep also said the windows had not be caulked properly. He said that Ferris would fix the windows, cap them and repair the ceiling. Ferris subsequently called and said I told them not to cap the windows. I had told them not to cap 2 side windows that had been previously replaced, not the front windows. Ferris refused to itemize the cost of each window to show that I had NOT paid to cap all 6 windows. And, even if there had been a misunderstanding about which windows to cap, if not capping the windows caused the work not be completed properly and would cause a leak, why would Ferris, as the experts, not have explained to me at the time they did the work? The company has refused to stand behind its work. I strongly advise against using this company. read more

It turns out that it was not flashing around my chimney that needed replacing but drain pipes elbows on the front and back roof of the house to lead the water away from where the roof splits. Kristina was very professional and scheduled an appointment for me with Monty the following Saturday. He showed up promptly at 8am. He was very knowledgeable and was able to make the repair the same day that he came out to give me a quote. We called Ferris to install a new roof on our home. Things started out great until the installation. The roof was installed incorrectly. Ridgevent on the wrong roof, low nails, a vent boot was placed despite a call the night before stating we did not want it, and the drip edge was installed incorrectly leaving exposed wood. We expressed our concerns and they were addressed but the staff minimized my concerns and were very condescending speaking to me as if I were making a big deal out of nothing. Did not hear back from Ferris for over a week as to when they could make the repairs and this was only after I contacted the office manager and it took her a week to respond. Communication seemed to improve with her however I have been waiting a few days to hear back from her when I was told she would contact me on Tuesday, it is now Thursday. I would not recommend this company, they have very poor customer service, communication is poor, and workmanship is not worth what you will pay. I would advise anyone who has had work done by this company to inspect their work with a fine tooth comb as they likely made mistakes. I would give a 0 if I could. One positive thing is that the product (new roof) itself does look very nice. read more
