Want to waste your time and energy to drive out to the middle of no where, and be over charged for simple alterations? Then this is the one for you! I needed some pants hemmed, pretty simple, and drove 20mins out to see this lady. Said it was $18 per pair of pants. Said ok that's fine. She requires a 50% deposit. After I was charged she THEN told me it was going to be 3 WEEKS before I could get them back. I asked about rushing was going to be an extra $25. I was shocked about how much she wanted to charge. Way more than just how much the pants cost total! Lady didn't even bother to tell me cost, or how long to expect them back until after I took time out of my day to drive out, and was charged. Thank god she refunded me though. When I got me refund she decided to be condescending and think she can put me down by saying how I needed to figure all this out before going to her. Lady you need to tell your potential customers what to expect!! Ps. Lady says I called her. My phone history says other wise. She never told me the price. Went to my local cleaners, who I go to often, very sweet people, and was able to get them fixed for half the cost and in just a few days! Definitely avoid at all costs! Not a professional AT ALL! My fiance and I decided we didn't want to wait til next year to get married, and I found the perfect dress for me I could take home with me, but it needed to be tailored. I had previously broken my neck and can't stand almost any weight on my shoulders or back and so wearing a wedding gown was something I knew was going to be hard with how heavy they are, so I did my best with choosing a style to help with this, by getting a backless mermaid gown, so most of the dress's weight was on my hips. My dress had a lot of intricate beading and embroidery. I found Kristen when browsing for an alterationist. She got me in fast, and I voiced my concerns for the fit and making sure all the weight stayed off my shoulders and upper back so that I could *fingers crossed* wear my wedding dress for the whole wedding day and not just for wedding ceremony and photos She did an amazing job and I can't even tell where she did the repairs or adjustments because that beading and embroidery is still immaculate. And, against all odds, I was able to wear my wedding dress the whole day! I'm so thrilled with her work, and it was a minor miracle I didn't have to use my back up dress at all! read more

I found Kristen on Yelp after a couple weeks of searching and reading reviews of other places. I can be pretty anxious and was super nervous about the whole alteration process as it was my first time doing it and with a wedding dress no doubt! I decided to message her and she responded very quickly and was able to get me in within the week, a few days later than I messaged her I think it was. Originally I thought the dress would be a pretty easy fix, but I'm extremely short and didn't realize how complicated it would be to hem the dress. She helped point out the things I needed to look for with it to make it fit correctly and after leaving it with her, the dress turned out amazing! The alterations were great and the dress was able to fit me the way it should have. She was extremely friendly and nice about everything, and I'm so happy I went to see her for it! The seamstress that I had used for years retired and now I've found Kristen and I'll be back. I had a formal dress that I needed to wear at a function (a different dress was not an option & not enough time to order another) - and I had gained weight, enough weight that it required taking additional fabric from the inside of the dress, inserting it and reconstructing the bodice. This is not an easy, just take up the hem kind of job. I've sewed, I've done some tailoring... couldn't match the color or the material - this was a one shot, had to work - no extra material to work with if you made a mistake. Kristen did an excellent job with a challenging situation. You would never know that it had to be altered (which saved some of my pride at the occasion). Kristen was fantastic! She was very accommodating with my schedule which was great. Also, she was really creative in trying to find a solution that worked for my dress.. the issue we has was that the sleeves were way too loose around the wrist, but the type of material/buttons used made it impossible to re-do the seam. Thankfully her creative solution brain kicked into gear! She was able to make a seam actually IN the design of the lace, and the way she did it made it look like it was always meant to be there! Also, she did so well on the bustle that the day I was getting dressed i almost couldnt even find the button/thread because she did so well at making it practically invisible, haha! Kristen is the best!!! She saved my wedding day! I got a very plain wedding dress off the rack that fit perfect!! I had a vision to glamorize my dress with adding jewels, hem and bustle. She was quick with a response and a very reasonable quote with in my deadline. Kristen "listened " to all of my request and execute my vision, she is fast and very knowledgeable about weddings, dresses and the stress of one of the most important day of my life. Kristen was so awesome! I was stressing out because my original alterations lady cancelled out the very last minute to tailor my wedding dress. 3 weeks left to the wedding, I found Kristen on yelp and she gladly took my wedding dress to tailor! I was super indecisive and wasn't sure what I even needed to really fix on the dress. She helped me figure everything out and make me look good. The dress, LOOKS GORGEOUS ON ME!!!!!! It really looks like my own dress made for me now. I bought the dress online and wasn't really caring much about the dress. I was so relieved to find Kristen through Yelp after two different tailors had declined to work on my dress when all I needed was a bustle. One was not confident enough to work on lace, and the other flat out told me a bustle wouldn't look good on a lace dress (seriously!?). Kristen responded quickly through Yelp and offered to look at pictures over text to let me know what could be done before meeting in person. When I brought her my dress, she used pins to show me what it would look like and I was in and out in no time. I picked it up with more than a month to spare before my wedding and am completely satisfied with the results. Kristin's work, customer service and pricing is amazing ! I had a bridesmaids dress unfortunately was to small and there was little wiggle room to let it out. Kristen graciously gave me her time on two different occasions and tried to find some creative ways to make the dress fit but there was only so much we could do to make it work. I ended up getting a bigger dress rush ordered which arrived 2 days before the wedding and of course needed to be hemmed. I called Kristin last minute and she happily squeezed me in and had my dress beautifully hemmed just in time and it fits perfect! I can't say enough good things about Kristen. I had bought a clearance costume dress I couldn't return, and it was definitely way smaller than advertised. I despaired fitting into it....until I contacted Kristen. She answered my inquiry within the hour, and got me in to see her - same day! - where she took my measurements and gave me ideas on how she could alter the dress so it would fit. She even recommended altering the accompanying petticoat so it would fit more securely. And she did all of this timely and at a reasonable price. Kristen's work is fantastic! She was quick to respond and finished my alteration in just one week. I was in a wedding where all the bridesmaids had to wear short, white dresses that were all different styles. I couldn't find a short dress that I liked, so I ordered this long, beautiful Lulus dress with the hopes of just having it altered. Kristen was able to make it look perfect in a timely manner and even took in the shoulder straps a bit (which consisted of some kind of intricate lace fabric!) Moving to Washington, I needed to find a "go-to" alterations place - I'm pretty short so definitely a necessity to find. Going to Kristen, I can't imagine going anywhere else! I hired Kristen to make a slipcover for my oddly shaped sofa. All she had to go by was the old cover that had shrunk some and was worn out. This was not easy because it required a very large bottom piece, two pillow backs and a very large seat cushion. She not only made a pattern, she also made the piping that edged every piece. Almost forgot there were many zippers required also. Bottom line...my husband and I are very happy with her work. We basically have a new sofa. Kristen was also very professional and easy to talk to. Kristen is quick to respond to inquiries, and does great work in a very reasonable amount of time. I originally contacted her for my wedding dress, which she made fit perfectly (from being 3 sizes too big). She also altered a bridesmaid dress, shirt, and old prom dress repair over the course of a few months. Cost is competitive with other seamstresses, and quality of work is well worth the price. Kristen is amazing. Not only did she hem and take my bridesmaid dress in, she also agreed to see my sister, the bride (last minute/day of) to resew her original hook back on to her wedding gown AND add another one as a safeguard -- her wedding is in less than 2 weeks, too! I have a really nice Guess wool coat that had the zipper go bad making the coat unwearable in winter. I brought it to Kristen to fix, but since I had other coats I did not need the coat back immediately. A couple weeks later, I picked it up and it looks like it did when it was brand new. She did a fantastic job of taking out the bad zipper and replacing it without changing the look of the coat. She even fixed a little tear on the coat I hadn't noticed.
